Wow... Amazing, one of the first concerts I ever went to was Cocteau Twins w/ G500 in Seattle at 15 or 16... I'd willingly give up a couple toes or a pinky finger to have been at this show. Thanks so much to the poster, and thanks so, so, so much to Dean and all his bandmates, past and present for making amazing music that has enriched my life for well over half of it.
I've been lucky enough to see virtually all of my favourite bands live, including some (Television, Go-Betweens, Love- well, Arthur Lee) that i thought i never would before they reformed. Sadly, i never saw Galaxie 500. This is great, though. Thanks.
so glad to see oblivious on this setlist. Britta sounds great on these songs! i have the extra disc from Flowers and that second disc is like getting a whole new Galaxie 500 album.
Ceremony, last song in the encore, is by Joy Division/New Order - was in fact written by Joy Division but published as New Order's first single. Galaxie 500 covered and published the song as well on vinyl, back then
How is it self-indulgent...just because the solos are long or the pace of songs tend to be slow? musically there do not seem to be a lot of wasted notes to me.
and another thing, of Course it's authentic.. but how many wonderful adjectives are in Webster's? 5 people agreed with me. Noodly bass which follows rather than leads actually works w/ Galaxie. . . and the all in lagging 3's rhythm. They compliment the water-cooler guitar and the childish voice very well, and it all loves itself. "This is our Music" says it all.
I've never seen a Firebird(or Firebird copy) with the switch on top until now. I can't make out the brand, but is it a Fano?(I just googled Firebird copies, and it's the only Firebird-like guitar I've seen with the switch on top)

Temperature's Rising is one of my favorite songs... fantastic.
Me too... One of my favorites for sure. That seemingly out of nowhere lyric: "I think you're a fake" cuts pretty hard!
I was here, great show in a tiny space.
Mind blowing. How could I have missed this show in my home town!
He plays guitar so well
何景成 his rhythm and lead fluidity are wholly soulful.

Yoko cover is pure Gold!
Magic

Dean still performing galaxy 500 music it’s like you never left him even after so many years the band has been broken up
incredible quality here, nice job. great music too.
thanks so much for posting this. I particularly enjoyed Living too close to the ground.
Universal Audio on WDCE plays Galaxie 500 & Luna each Thursday night. Really enjoyed this show - thanks.
awesome upload great capture

Correct.
Dear lord, this is as good as the real thing!
I seriously can't think of any other music that gives me chills this way and makes me want to pick up the guitar!!
Right down to the female bass player.
you were on the verge of great things
necesito estar ahí, sería tanto para mi corazón
not often a music can be so self-indulgent and still just rule the planet.
How is it self-indulgent...just because the solos are long or the pace of songs tend to be slow? musically there do not seem to be a lot of wasted notes to me.
@@etamommy ~because it is a very unique approach to music . . . in the most basic of ways, it's IT, and does itself.
Well I am not sure I would call that self-indulgent but rather authentic
@@etamommy *but, what would Brian Boitano call it?? lol, whatever.

I remember how loud Luna was when I saw them. I've got all the levels up on the vid and can barely hear it.
ty
haha it's awesome that they tried to play "Oblivious" for the guy who called out for it
The first encore song is Living to close to the ground by the Everly Brothers
Thanks, modified the setlist accordingly.
You'd think Dean would come out with some old Harmony Bobkat, but no, dude comes out wielding a $3K Fano! You never see that guy using junky ass gear
Yeah, even in his first shitty(his own words) band in college, he's pictured playing a Gibson Les Paul.
como eu nunca vi esse video
'forever'
When will you come home Claudia?
lol is that drummer wearing a john mellencamp shirt?

Might be I'm BAD fan,but I like Galaxie 500,not Luna or Damon & Naomi....
totally get where you're coming from. 3 or 4 albums of pure magic and then the well runs dry
this is awesome, but a rhythm guitar would've sounded that much better.
