That Summoned Skull is unreal, I can't believe you did that with a bic pen. Your understanding of gradient and light are incredible, the detail on the horns and tendons, and use of negative space to imply depth...absolutely mind blowing.
Summon Skull is so cool and Im impressed with your art skills yu gi oh characters can hard due to the level of detail these monsters have I also want to make some yu gi oh fan art in the future
You're actually one of my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh RUclipsrs and have inspired me to try master duel again I'm not gonna play meta but I'll play decks that i like I'm not a good duelist anyways but i want to have fun
omg that is soo sweet of you 🥹 thank you very much for the support !! yes definitely playing for fun on master duel is awesome ! casual is always fun ! trying new decks , build new decks is fun !!
would you be able to make a drawing of red eyes dark dragoon? i think that would be epic. also, its archfiend because of american censorship as it was supposed to be called skull devil, so they turned all the devil archetypes to archfiends
yes definitely !! i would be making the video for sure !! ooohhhh whoooaaaaaahhh !! thats amazing !! thank you for clarifying that!! i had a feeling it was of censorship but didn’t know it was because if “ skull devil “ !! amazing !!
*Be the first yugi-art channel.* monopolize it. You got the talking point down, you could diversify your video-visuals with art streams. Look at other fandom-specific art channels (Pokemon is the biggest) to see how they adapt or change things up (like trifusions, which is perfect for yugioh). Or just look at artists you like and imagine them drawing your subject matter - I like DC heroes, and go to Alex Ross on what golden age 1930 costumes look like in a realistic painter-style.
The reaction and heavy censoring of Konami in the west was twofold - the first reason was because the game was being marketed towards children, but the original subject matter in a lot of card arts were "inappropriate" in their eyes - things like weapons such as guns and knives, certain arts that were a little gorey, and of course suggestive things like DMG's cleavage window were all censored to be more marketable towards children. A lot of these changes were really stupid ones, such as Don Zaloog's guns being replaced with a sword even though he's still strapped up with ammo belts and there's another card from around the same time period called "Barrel Behind the Door" that literally just features art of a gun pointed at a person opening a door. The SECOND reason was to cater to American cultural sensibilities. Back during the end of the 90's and going into the early 2000's, a lot of Americans and American values were steeped in a christian religious context. So as you might imagine, it'd be a little difficult trying to market a product to these parent's children with cards like "Black Magician" (black magic is a big no-no for religious types). I suspect that the change with summoned skull was probably one made for this reason - It's a lot more damning seeing a card that says "Demon's Summoning" (roughly what the original Japanese of the name translates to) than "summoned skull". It's funny, because for all the effort and censoring they did, it did not stop overly religious, concerned parents from claiming Yugioh was satanic or a product of the devil. You weren't in America when this was happening from the sounds of it, but it was a whole thing in the US called "The Satanic Panic" and a lot of different children's media was targeted during this like Harry Potter. When I was younger, I actually wasn't even allowed to own a starter deck because of this stupid BS but I got into the game anyways a few years later. I think the most disappointing thing is that even though we're well beyond that point in Yugioh's history, Konami is still heavily censoring things over here even though children barely even play this game and they still let so much stuff slip by when it contradicts things they've censored in the past (Look at Traptrix Pinguicula for a good example). At least we get lost arts to sort of fill in that gap, so I can play "Bagooska the lazy stinking drunk" instead of the sleepy boi we got over here in the TCG (even though I like both arts).
If you know you know, being part of that OG circle ,back in 2002, konami messed up and didn't add arch fiend to summon skulls name (error). Even though later , they released a archfiend archetype. I think that's why the vanilla version of the summon skull graded still holds value. Like sub up&PresPlay🫡
