    I love how you included links for all the tools I need! I've only been cake decorating for 6weeks and I'm catching on quickly! My daughter has asked me to make gold rose leaves for her wedding cake so your tutorial was very helpful!!!

      Thank you for the lovely comment.
      You can. When you make the centre, just glue it down to the petal in the middle like I did in the video.😊

      Hi Joann,
      Thank you! Oh yes, I just checked the links and it seems like they changed the items once I had already linked them. :-/.
      This would be the correct one - amzn.to/3oACt8X. :-)

    Thank you, can I ask why you don't colour the paste green to begin with? Save time? Is the effect not the same?

    • @GourmetGateaux
      @GourmetGateaux  5 лет назад +4

      Course you can.
      I like playing around with different colours because they look more natural. You can by all means dye it green to begin with if you're looking to have one predominant green colour. It's not the same as dusting white leaves but you can still achieve a similar effect. :-)

    Ahosolutely beautiful.. thank you.. Can I use fondant to get same result..

    • @GourmetGateaux
      @GourmetGateaux  4 года назад

      Hi Bratati,
      Thank you so much for liking the tutorial!❤
      You can use fondant with mixed with tylose powder. Fondant alone will get you the same results however it would be quite difficult for you to insert the wire and the leaves will not dry quickly.

  • @frostmi9127

    Hi, do gumpaste need tylose? does it dry on its own? because I tried using fondant making this with tylose but it can't stand long if exposed in air

    • @GourmetGateaux
      @GourmetGateaux  3 года назад

      Hi there,
      Gumpaste doesn't require any additional products. Yes it does dry on it's own if it's not humid. You probably need to add a bit more Tylose Powder. 😊

      Hello!
      The technique shown just takes a bit of practice and is just like any other new technique, difficult at first but then gets easier as you keep practising.😊

      Yes I just noticed. The seller must have changed it as it was working when I posted it. I will try and see if I can find a different link for you.😊
      Found it. This one is a little bit bigger but more or less the same👇

    You can see the wires. Are they poking through the gumpaste. What do you do about that

    • @GourmetGateaux
      @GourmetGateaux  5 лет назад

      I used green wires, because I was dusting them in those colours. You can use white wires if you don't want the wires showing through but when you dust them in other colours, you can't really tell. :-)
