  • I've always wanted these pedals back when I had my EM1 back in the early 2000s, but I never bought them. Now I can finally buy and install these on the Obsessed Garage EM1 Civic Si project. The install was quite easy with me only having to drill holes in the plastic gas pedal.

    I love this build because of his attention to detail, I had a similar pair on my EK4 Honda Ballade (South African Civic sedan name)

    I had a em1 when I was 20. I built it and turboed it myself. I didn't have a lot of money I was working for my city public works department and had to buy cheaper parts then the actual expensive ones I wanted. I've been searching for a clean em1 to now build since its been 7 years and my knowledge and the technology has changed so much from then to now and I can actually afford all the stuff I want to do then. Unfortunately I haven't been able to source said em1 but this has been an amazing series that has taken me back and made it incredibly enjoyable to watch. I watch tommy and you both and I'm very excited to see this when its done and also enter the giveaway. Good job and keep up the good content!

    I'm very glad you documented this video so that Enthusiasts can see how the install really goes on the official Mugen Pedals. Attention to detail is very important.

    I had these pedals on my 1999 Black EM1 Si with magnesium wheels and nitro-purge system + a big Precision turbo build with atmospheric BOV; tuned to a "conservative" 400 HP driven hard for 10's of thousands of miles. I have an "H" tattooed on my soul from that experience. Circumstances made me give it up in the last economic downturn in 2008, but I miss it all the time!!

    will be interesting to see where you find new OEM door cards- that's a tough item to find. At least you don't have black ones which would be even harder.

      @@marquisethomas5611 I did... 20 years ago, in my first car lol. Have owned my Integra 19 years and never did change anything on the pedals. I actually just replaced the worn brake and clutch pedal pads with holes in them, with new rubber OEM pads. Although if I were to change the pedals I would want something else OEM, like the aluminum/rubber S2000 pedals.

    Matt, you might want to go back with some thread lock on those screws. I know the last 2 cars that I have had that had aftermarket pedals worked them self loose VERY fast. If you put some med or high strength thred lock on those, your never going to have to do the job again.

    I know this isn’t a 911 or m3, but it’s still interesting to watch. I’m hoping once you’re done this that you continue to occasionally do cheaper cars like this. Would love to see a mk4 golf r32 (or even just a mk4 GTI or Jetta vr6) tastefully modded. They’re all giveaway cars anyway.

    You'll need a driver's floor mat with a big heel pad, or separate so that you can glue the pad on. I had new OEM carpets and eventually made holes on the driver's mat with my heels. And good luck if you order floor mats from Lloyd's. Because the ones I have now are from them and the fit on the driver's side isn't very good. I sent a email to them, before the pandemic, a few months and they never replied.

    • @RB-vh6ps
      @RB-vh6ps 10 месяцев назад +1

      Yea I Lloyd Mats are over priced junk. I got a set for my 05' RSX Type-S, the fit was absolutely horrible, so I put them right back in the box. Tried to return but Lloyd Mats never replied to me either... Such as waste of over $100 smh. I wish Weathertech or any brand made a laser cut mat for my car.. But, it is what it is I guess lol

    I like OG Standard Demo cars but its a bit one sided, bcs its products are used to swap beater parts for new ones and keep/preserve them nice.
    On the other hand, OG Products could be used to demonstrate how to recover/revamp old ugly parts, that often are hard/expensive to source. Kind of OG [boutique] vs ChrisFix [restoration].

    Putting on pedal covers has to be one of the most tedious things to do. I can honestly say that I would rather put coilovers on than put pedal covers on. It is hard to squeeze yourself down in the footwell while trying to get them on. Mugen pedal covers are awesome!
