Thank you so much for this. I played the pc version recently and oh the Archimedes version sounds so much better. I used to have a friend who had this on the Archimedes. We'd take turns trying to solve all the levels.
You've outed yourself as a Brit, if you meant on the Archimedes architecture 😄 I learnt programming on the BBC Micro, and loved their successor machines too.
This brings back a lot of memories. However, in two-player mode on the Amiga, the sound track was a collection of industrial/steam-punk classical tracks. The percussion was all steam hydraulics, hammer strikes, chain rattles, etc. I still haven't found an accurate re-creation of those tracks. I've found the synthesized classical tracks, like the can-can, but none of them have the industrial steam-punk percussion.
+OneWeirdDude I know that song plays in that level, but what I wanted to know is if that song ever plays anywhere in the original game itself (Awesome)
+VengefulChip Not as far as I know. I watched a few videos, and apparently the familiar track repeats with a few others. The substitute song doesn't show up, that I can tell.
+VengefulChip This arrangement was totally original for this version of the game. I don't believe it was ever played on the original game. This also goes for Shadow of the beast 1 and Shadow of the beast 2 due to technical limitations of the Archimedes' sound capabilities. I personally feel that this is why the Archimedes version of the game should be given some credit and it's the main reason why I love this version even more than the Amiga / original version to come up with some clever workarounds.
I think you should probably advertise that on a video for the Amiga soundtrack because whoever prefers the original Amiga version will most likely be listening to that version. If they are listening to this version and are on this page, they probably prefer this version and therefore don't want to change. If they are only checking what it's like then they must not have an Archimedes and that version of the game.
@@Unloadedgaming I can't express my gratitude enough, thank you ever so much. It reminds me of being a wee child playing lemmings on my grandfather's Acorn. If i ever meet you one day beers on me.
+OneWeirdDude I haven't recorded this soundtrack, but from what I remember when talking with the person who recorded this, he mentioned that he couldn't find the specific track for whatever reason... so unfortunately I don't know what to do about that, considering that I don't own the real hardware, and also emulation doesn't work properly here.
***** Well, if you don't mind a humble suggestion, you could add something like, "Missing: She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain", or something similar.
I haven’t heard much of it until recently (I wasn’t even alive back when this this thing was in its hayday), but the Archi seems to have pretty good graphics (higher color depth than the Amiga) and sound (over 8 channels). Maybe I’ll get one, one day… oh I am so ambitious.

Thanks SO much for uploading all of these! Used to get told off by the teacher for playing this when I was meant to be doing 'schoolwork' lol
+lianac Haha, you're very welcome! :D

I did not appreciate how obscenely funky some of these tunes were in the 90’s.
It's awesome how frantic this sounds.

Shadow of the Beast I is just...
Well, this is surely a very unique version!
All hail Matt Furniss, and now VengefulChip :D
All hail to Stefan L for providing the recorded sound from the real hardware :D
Nostalgia!
This reminds me of the Master System, maybe these were made on the Acorn Archimedes and then ported down...
In fact, this resemblance is not for nothing, as Matt Furniss arranged the songs for both the Acorn and Master System versions.
I found out that number 20 is called "What an AWESOME level" in tribute to the Amiga game AWESOME. Hope this helps, love the work.
+guideseeker233 Right!
+guideseeker233 Do you know if that track is ever heard in the original port of Awesome? That way I could change the name of the track.

Archimedes owners please note : you can patch Lemmings and OhNoMoreLemmings! to play the same tunes as found on the Amiga.

What is the origin of the so g at 2:49 please please please reminds.me of my dead grandfather so much
Pachelbel's Canon, but the normal song is a bit slower than the music used in the game

This music used to drive my mother crazy!
The music at 14:38 is wicked
The Genesis version of that track is especially nice IMO.
the first unknown might be that 'mad professor mariarti'.
Just checked, and right you are. Ammended the name of the track.
OK.
1:59 is what I came here for
I wonder why he made his own tunes for 18, 20 & 21 but still used the Menace soundtrack for 19?
+Razstar Copyright issues? Because that's what happened with all four for the Windows version.
+OneWeirdDude Yea I was just confused why Menace was OK. All of them are from Psygnosis games and are either all there or all replaced in the ports
+Razstar It could also be because Menace wasn't ported to those platforms onto which the Menace theme was replaced. Just a thought.
Shadow of the beast 1 here sounds funkier then all the other ports. Well, at least in my opinion.
I counted, and methinks you forgot one: She'll be Coming 'Round the Mountain.
Yeah, should be between Ten Green Bottles and Shadow of the Beast.

+OneWeirdDude Done.
Some versions don't have some tracks. I'm not sure if this one has any missing.
Man, they REALLY wanted to let you know they could do stereo sound, didn't they?
