Don king had a contract to promote the next fight. Barry hearns fucked Don king over because the fight ended in a draw and kept Benn and eubank. If There would have been a clear winner the the fights would have been with Don king. Im glad someone fucked over king as he'd done it to fighters all the time for not reading the small print. It's a shame the result was a fix because we all know Benn won.
I spoke to Eubank 2 days after the fight and when he asked me who I thought had won . . I said Benn . . he just smiled and said . . "that's your opinion and you are entitled to it ". . before he patted me on the back and walked away . . a great memory and a great man.
either way loved their two fights...Eubank was a great showman and technical boxer, Benn lots of big shots scary hooks and grit, also looked badass...like em both and they were bigger than anyone nowadays due to being on national TV...everyone i know watched both these fights..
I thought at rhe time Benn won... After watching it again it was a draw ,,,, the point taken could easily have lost a couple of points by deduction ,,,,, Eubank deserved not to lose that fight ,,, a draw was fair!!!

thought a spent nigel benn after his mclellan fight and a eubank who held back after watson fight, thats why he will never be held in the same esteem, i mean most peolple of the street could beat ali now but it wouldn't mean they are a better boxer
Of course Eubank was past his best when Collins beat him and Benn was shot after the McClellen fight. Benn was really a natural middle and was not quite as powerful at super mid. Not taking anyhting away form Collins though.

Eubank also kept his granite chin up to cruiserweight too and had an awkward style of fighting that could sustain him even without a big punch. Benn relied more on his power to win fights and also his chin wasn't as solid as Eubank's, so he could be considered to be more vulnerable moving up in weight and fighting bigger guys.
If Benn thought he could be at him, he woulda fought him again. Saying he won was just desperation. And Eubank is a nice guy, Benn was a twat those days, even though he's ok now.
