I've been to Toronto once, in the late 90's. Excellent city! Skydome, Space Needle, I was your typical tourist. One thing I remember... I'm from NC, so everywhere I went, people gave me a funny look and asked me where I'm from. Every single time tho, I got a friendly "welcome to Toronto." Super friendly folks, super clean city!

Great to see you enjoy yourself in my hometown as I watch from Niagara Falls! If you ever end up coming back during the summertime, you should consider doing a "Huntsville to Huntsville" video. Huntsville Ontario is in Muskoka {couple hours from Toronto} and is "Cottage Country" with incredible fishing and camping.

  • @robert-antoinedenault5901

As a Quebecer, that plate of poutine is a very sad looking one. Rarely will you find it made with frozen fries (that's generally the USA fast foods or immigrants restaurants), the curds have to be unripened (no substitution possible also a reason why not available in most US states as sales of unripened cheese are mostly illegal) and be 2cm to 5cm in lenght and the gravy is never a powdered base one. Must be a home made demi-glace or bordelaise (that means with red wine) sauce made from bones
On a side note. Poutine has never been, nor will it ever be a side dish. The amount of poutine restaurants here in "la belle province" (the beautiful province) proves that. The best side for a poutine on the other hand is a burger or an all dressed hotdog; that's topped with relish, mustard and a vinegar based coleslaw.
I was giggling as i saw your portion. That's a small portion for kids here. That costs around 6$, medium size don't really exist but large is simply 2x the small for 9-10$ and then you find the family size that is 4-5x the small portion for 19-20$.
Ps if ever you come by these parts (qc). Don't order ketchup on a hot dog if you have no kids with you as you will be laughed at.
Poutine is not limited as a after partying/drinking nights as we have it at home (most of us own deep fryers anyway) or at the restaurant as early as breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Unripened cheese curds are so widely available that you find them near the cash at grocery stores, convenience stores (besides the lottery tickets 😂) and held at room temperature (never in the fridge)🤣

@@boston10zx28 I am a southern guy who is born and bred in MLB baseball and SEC college football. However… I see the passion in my friend for a hockey team and I can recognize that. As a competitor my self I don’t wanna be a bandwagon fan of a team I want in for the right reasons. The first pro game I ever watch with any seriousness was the Leafs and when I saw Willie and Auston on the ice I knew that was it for me! I think they won that game like 5-1. I just stayed after it watching the Leafs I feel that feeling that only a fan can know. So when they started Hockey Night in Canada in 1952 I wasn’t even born but this ole’ southern boy has on his blue and white yelling go leafs go!

Decent amount of cheese but those fries are sad, typically what you find outside of quebec and neighboring french canada. You need double fried, brown fries. Its like as if you'd go for a pulled pork and be served bland ass ground pork from the super market. You want good food in toronto, you're far better off eating Vietnamese, chinese, thai, indian etc etc etc. English Canada has no culture or cuisine of its own 😅😅😅
