I appreciate how you find joy and capacity to carry on ✨ the issue of relying on other people to fix everything is a big problem for me but I also have to admit that it's very nice to hide (from the news) in a place like wiki current events... and let other people do the hard work lol

I can’t say I have all the answers especially in regards to the greater world and all the issues in it, but finding some sort of way to help another person via real life interaction does make it easier ( I know everyone wants to solve it all via their phones but there are limits). I volunteer both locally to push current events in a good direction and also by supporting a nonprofit in Africa with fundraising to help women and girls in Sierra Leone. I think we all have a peace of the puzzle. And of course making content online has a place too. It’s good to find a balance so you aren’t putting it all on your shoulders 24/7 365 but still building a muscle to hold capacity for a little more if possible so we aren’t all totally checking out and permanently giving up. Of course that’s only on the level of external action but that’s really the tip of the iceberg. Like I said cutting things out creates a bit of a guilty void, and adding something IN (versus checking out) actually moves the needle on feeling empowered even if it isn’t about engaging with the world but simply adding self compassion for a current limits of capacity into the mix. Totally ok not to be plugged into the news constantly, it’s a lot.
