Hardest working dude in music. He jams back stage, he jumps in other bands' sets, does a solo act and then the headliner as well. He loves to play other people's music and brings new life to every song he covers.
One year in Charlotte when ABB was touring he was set up with two tiny speakers on a fold out table in the parking lot in 95% weather playing an acoustical and singing his heart out....Many people didn't even recognize him, I heard him from a distance and we went straight to him. After the opening band stopped he stopped, I asked him what are you doing out in this heat when you're due on stage with ABB in 30 minutes....he replied I love my fans and this is what I live for...I want to play, get on a plane and play again somewhere else tomorrow night....at the time he was doing many time three Gov't Mule shows and two ABB shows a week...I say that because you mention he is the hardest working man in music!

I totally agree he is phenomenal and I have just recently found him within the past 2 yrs and wonder why he hasn't gotten the recognition he deserves or maybe I've just been living under a rock 😂❤
I has the pleasure of sitting up front last week in Dallas when they were promoting their Dark Side of the Mule album and they crushed some Pink Floyd with light show and all. Took my 32 year old daughter and she was blown away.
this is without a doubt the best performance in my life Wow you killed it. I'm 70 years old feeling like 17 again thank God the music moves the mind and soul, triping without tripping so clear thanks man. God speed tucson tim
There really isn't. I saw Gov't Mule at The Beacon to ring in 2004 and they did Get Up, Stand Up by Bob Marley, She Said, She Said/Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles, War Pigs by Black Sabbath and Wish You Wee Here by Pink Floyd and nobody batted an eyelash, as they all sang along with pure joy, especially on WYWH, which was dedicated to late Mule bassist, Allen Woody, while home videos of his life played on the video screens. I looked behind me from the front row and every single person I saw was singing their heart out and most of hem were wiping tears. Such is the power of music, especially in the hands of complete masters.
No doubt it’s the best rendition of mad man across the water, period! Definitely underrated musician in the music industry, but not at all by the people who have ever had listened and watched him and band play
We have gone and seen Govt Mule in 3 states... NEVER DISAPPOINTS. Warren is the best at what he does, a guitar god and that voice!!! ❤❤❤ Where's My Mule?

This is an epic cover period. Man The Mule just fucking rules. Every year I sit in the front at red rocks ( I am disabled) and watch this band lay it down. Their music keeps me looking forward not back. In other words they keep me sane in an insane world
In all reality very seldom do covers come close and almost never are they better. Warren took Elton and Bernie's song and knocked it out of the park. I cant stop playing it
Like Jimi, Warren is one of those amazing guitarists that you come for the angel stringed pyrotechnics, but a year or two later, you realise just how perfect a vocalist he is.
I've got a five-day growth of hair on my shaved head today . . and it's sticking straight up while I watch and listen to this incredible take on the Elton John classic!
Warren incredibly versatile musician and improv and great guy. Met him on line at local CVS where we live. Genuinely approachable and nice human being. BTW- Brandi Carlisle also does this song vocals justice
Warren is a rare treasure. So f'ing talented and Govt. Mule is one of the very best bands on the entire planet. He just loves music across the spectrum. I was outside listening to their pre-show warm-up about a decade ago and was amazed at the eclectic mix of other people's tunes they were running through - even one of the more obscure tunes from Alice Cooper's "Killer" album. He must have a repertoire of hundreds, if not thousands, of songs.
Warren, phenomenal talent, always does his own interpretation when covering material. It’s never just a regurgitation of the original 👍 His best cover I’ve ever heard/seen is Cortez the Killer. Love Neil’s original but the energy and passion Warren brings is mind blowing
Warren seems to be enjoying this as much as anyone. He knows great music. Blows my mind how Elton and Bernie wrote music that was radio marketable with so much meat to it. So much meaning and soul. A fucking genius. A a preformer? Shit. Show me his equal
I'm sorry to say this but this will always be Elton John's song put this man right here took this song to a different level but this song is a classic in my book yes sir indeed😊❤
From an old ass drunk hippie who used to watch the Bros at Piedmont park. Dickie is the greatest 😊unrespected player ever. But this tune blows me away.
This man and his band never fail to impress! It's certainly NOBODY who does an Elton cover and nails it! And , yes, they do that Pink Floyd thing too, right? Very adventurous, yet always on solid ground.
I grew up close to Asheville and was in a little blues club on a new year's eve in the early 80's. Warren was in town for the holidays and I got a very nice extra Christmas present that year. This was way before everyone knew about him. He played 3 songs.
Great version. But then again, so is every version I've seen on youtube, everyone from Bruce Hornsby to Brandi Carlisle. Simple explanation for that---its an AWESOME song, by one of the best songwriters of the 20th century!

If Warren covers your song, it's now his, not yours anymore. Love this dude's musical gift.
Warren is one of an elite few who can be entrusted with a cover of a sacred classic, making it his own while fully respecting the original.
I like your comment. I feel the same way. The original is a class on its own but Warren brings it to a new level. Awesome musician
The way this guy can take a good song and just bring it to another level is just amazing. Love ya, Warren.
One word describes the entirety of Warren Haynes' tribute covers; Masterful!

Those three without a doubt are the best, I agree.

I don't think anyone else could have done this song more justice. You captured the soul of Elton and brought your own guitar mastery. Simply perfect.
Warren is God
The soul of Elton John has been captured by Warren? What should he do with it? His one is much more beautiful 🤟
Brandi Carlisle kills this song
Come to Vancouver Canada to do some shows you will love the audience
Not arguing, but do treat yourself to Brandi Carlile's version as well. Just spectacular.

His vocals are his secret weapon. Outstanding
