I'm baffled over the intense focus on how such creatures develop defenses against the pressures of very deep waters. It's not like they are suddenly plunged, like Sperm whales, into high pressures. No--they are hatched, raised and live their entire existence at 6,000 meters. So their tissues need not "acclimate" to the cold, or dark, bor high pressure. It's their wallpaper, their baseline--the only physical circumstance their anatomy and physiology have ever experienced. To exist there at all means adaptation is a done deal, right? No breathless, play-by-play astonishment is necessary, or meaningful.
I always wonder why fish have to adapt their bodies to high pressures. I understand that, for example, mammals have lungs filled with air and if they get too submerged, the pressure will crush them. But fish, they are not only made up mostly of water, but they are also filled with water. And when their cells grow in a high-pressure environment, this pressure also prevails inside those cells. Is water pressure able to destroy protein molecules or what?
There was a Paleo Meme going around a while claiming that all animals eventually evolve into Crabs, from my perspective it looks to me like not just deep water, but ALL Fish-looking sea creatures are morphing into Tadpole Looking Eels
Nature is straight up Bad-A$$, seriously. Scientist are still trying to work out how life started & all the while Life is doing Stuff that we Humans will never catch up on

Maybe we can develope tech like scuba gear to go down those deep depths
That would be so cool 😮
I find them absolutely adorable! They look like they're smiling😊

There bones are smaller thus less pressure and there stronger

Looking at its head & face from the front kinda looks like an electric eel. 🤔
Why Terrifying????
My thought exactly. Click bait.
Why is everything so terrifying
I can't even tell if this is real since the video is labeled with altered or synthetic content. Anyone have a reputable source so I can confirm?
