Aziz says, "This poem is for Kashmir, AMU, Jamia, UP, JNU, Delhi. This poem is for all those places where under the cover of darkness, the cowards committed atrocities on us."

This one always hits a chord inside. Every single time. Every time Aziz recites "Aasman mein Inquilab likkha jayega", it sends chills down to the bones and gives goosebumps. Even after 3 years, it still gets the message through unequivocally.
This is so relevant for Current Bangladesh 🇧🇩 Situation 😞

Motivating us in the 2024 quota reform movement in Bangladesh! The resemblance is uncanny!
Truly a protest anthem, this one! Listening to it at least twice every day! It will forever remain one of my favorite poems of all time and I'm sure many others feel the same way. The following is my attempt at translating it; I relished every moment I spent pursuing this project and while it is impossible to equal, let alone one-up, the original, I have tried my level best to capture the original's spirit as well as rhythm without much alterations. Without further ado:
*Sab Yaad Rakkha Jayega by Aamir Aziz: A translation*
In the name of Kashmir, in the name of AMU, in the name of Jamia, in the name of UP, in the name of JNU, of Delhi, in the name of all those places where in the veil of darkness atrocities were committed upon us by cowards, this poem goes, that
It will be remembered, everything will be remembered
All the murders that have been committed by your rods and bullets, my friend,
In their memory our hearts will be kept ruined forever,
It will be remembered, everything will be remembered.
We know that you will write lies in ink;
So be it with our blood, truth will surely be written.
It will be remembered, everything will be remembered.
Cutting off mobile, telephone, internet in broad daylight,
And blindfolding the entire city in the cold, dark night;
Wielding hammers and barging into my home uninvited,
Shattering my head, body, my short-lived life,
Lynching the piece-of-my-heart in the middle of the street,
The way you stood in a corner and flashed your wicked smiles,
It will be remembered, everything will be remembered.
Talking sweetly to our face during the day,
Stuttering “Everything is fine” in every tongue,
At night, answering the people asking for their rights with rods and guns,
Attacking us and then branding us as culprits in turn,

And saying very sweet things in daytime about how everything is fine in the front, and then attacking the people asking for their rights with sticks and bullets; attacking us and then saying that we were the attackers

And I'll write all this happening on my bones, this event of you asking me for my papers of my existence; I'll definitely give the proof of my entity to you. This fight will be fought till your last breath
