I was actually at this Tool show (it was actually my very first Tool show, though since then I've seen Tool live 13x....yeah, that's right, 13x times) and no one from King Crimson was there and Tool didn't cover any King Crimson songs, not even a tiny portion of one in the middle of one of their improvisational moments. I actually just rechecked the setlist, and I'm 100% correct. Man, that was an AMAZING show....I had just gotten into Tool a few months earlier (I know, I was late to the party, and to be honest, I'd trade all 13x times I've seen tool between 2001-2012 for one chance to see them live between 1995-1999 as the Ænima album is by far my absolute favorite). My friend and I had rolled up five blunts for that show, two of which were "brain busters".....blunts laced with homemade base, hahaha. This guy across the aisle from us asked if he could have a hit, my friend gave it to him, he took two hits and never spoke to us again, haha. Anyway, I remember when they played the song Ænema and just at the best part when maynard is "praying for rain", the huge screens over the stage and behind maynard just showed a huge psychedelic water drop falling into a body of water....epic.
I just watched that video, with the psychadelic water drop...

WTF is FRIPP? Nowhere in sight!
The soundscapes sound a lot like Fripp but then again he never stands when he plays. The figure also makes me think it's not Fripp
