    I love that I have to resort to praying someone has uploaded a video on how to get into the Viao laptop bios because Sony doesn't even properly document these things!!! Thank you so much!

    This is a very helpful video; thanks for uploading this. He doesnt actually tell you how to boot into the BIOS until 4:45. This videos deserves a "like". Thanks again hiertechnologies.

    THANKS!!! I tried everything and had no luck before finding your video. You saved me :). At first I thought it didn't work either, because holding F2 while powering produced high, constant pitching sound but after 0,5 minute it stopped and BIOS opened :D
    Thanks for sharing. I didn't know it was S-version of vaio. I simply also couldn't find solution anywhere, because those suggested simply didn't work. Yours finally came through. Thanks again for sharing this with us!

    Thanks for posting this! I tried to update the bios on my system only to discover that the computer could no longer find the OS! In my case, I had to trasfer the OS from a DVD to a flash drive and hit F11 repeatedly while powering on. Then, I could only hit F2 one time before Windows began to book from the flash drive. At first, I hit F2 repeatedly and it didn't work--but just once did the trick! Would have NEVER gotten this thing working myself without your tip!

    Absolutely great, thank you so much! Took a long time to (finally) find a solution for such a trivial problem. I can't believe Sony making it so hard to simply enter the d@mn BIOS. Your solution, accompanied with good commentary, did the trick.
    Thanks again!

    It was a lot easier on my S-Series. With the laptop off, I pressed the "Assist" button above the keyboard. In a few seconds the laptop started and after a few more seconds a menu appeared. This menu included a Start BIOS option.

    Don't press the power button to start the laptop. Press the 'assist' button INSTEAD of the power button. This will boot your PC into the tech menu. From there you can select start from CD. Job done.

    • @NetRolller3D
      @NetRolller3D 7 лет назад

      Jason Smart Not all versions offer CD boot in the Assist menu, only those that don't have on-disk recovery images. Apparently Sony considers it unsupported to install an OS from external media on machines with internal recovery (probably because it bypasses all the revenue-generating bloatware included in the recovery images).

    My SVSA2A, with computer off, press and hold Assist button only. Computer starts, brings up menu. Can select to enter bios from there. If you're vaio has one of those raid SSD modules, and you bought regular 2.5" SSD with proper cable, you can get into the raid controller from the bios before switching over the drive and break the raid. Many had installed a drive and wonder why they see half the storage space

    sometimes, it is wise to take your pc or laptop to a repair facility in order to get proper assistance. if you find yourself beating your head against a wall for days on an issue, just bite the bullet and consult a technician. some challenges are actually malfunctions.

    your choice
