Hey tupapirafa! First thanks for stopping by our channel we appreciate it. Most managers really just like having some oof the data as reference point in case they ever need it rally. In this video for example ruclips.net/video/9W-Z9ylj5FA/видео.html we spoke with someone who only had to check the data she was tracking because someone's entries didn't line up properly. Turns out her employee wasn't actually logging hours correctly. We've also had development teams really appreciate the screen shot features because it allows them to reference code they were working on throughout the day incase they run into any issue at all. But, at the end of the day it's completely customizable and provides a lot of flexibility for each individual employee. Thanks again for watching!

Well, hello! We like to ask our customers why they use Hubstaff, and we actually have a lot of developers that do.
Freelance developers like that they have proof of work to share with their clients via screenshots and activity levels, so there's no question when they send an invoice. They can charge for exact hours worked since they can easily start and stop the timer from anywhere, and that information flows seamlessly into reports and invoices.
We have a lot of of remote teams that allow their developers to work from the location of their choosing because they have confidence that work is being done, without having to look over the team member's shoulder. Paying them is easy, too, with several accounting and payment solutions. Team managers can easily assign tasks and don't have to interrupt developers to check-in. They just look at the team dashboard to see what everyone's working on. Screenshots are optional, some managers don't utilize them at all.

@@Hubstaff I honestly doubt the truth of the statement that freelance developers like to have proof of work in the shape of the screenshots.
Usual work pattern for majority of developers is a daily code submission that is overlooked by a senior developer that checks for code validity, quality, and quantity. Also, team managers don't care about screenshots as long the deadlines are reached and the burndown chart is evolving as predicted. Making screenshots of the development environment is reinventing the wheel and disregarding any type of moder software development methodology such as agile, scrum, lean, kanban etc.
While we can understand this viewpoint is not shared by all freelance developers, we have received that feedback before. We also understand screenshots are not a desired featured for all Hubstaff users, so we've made it easy for managers to change the frequency of them, or turn them off altogether. A support article with details can be found here: support.hubstaff.com/change-screenshot-frequency/. If team managers don't care to use them, they can choose this option at anytime.

Sorry, we are restricted by the manufacturers of these devices and we cannot take screenshots on phones or tablets.
Can this app track what I'm thinking and keep a record of my thoughts every 5mins? Also take a screenshot of what I see and refer? Maybe put a chip in all our employees brain and you do some API and get data? Idk, figure it out. Ruin more lives. Goodluck.
Does this app track your physical movement, If I'm in the restroom, patients room?
Hi Cheryl, time tracking on your computer does not track any physical movement. The app can only track if there is keyboard or mouse activity or not on your computer when it is turned on. Hope this answers your question. Thank you!

Yeah this work, but being productive needs also procrastination. I''m in the creative industry for about 10 years and I am very committed to my clients, all of my clients love my work and they always get back to me on working more on projects. Procrastinating for me helps me more being creative. I can't just work for 8 hours straight stares at my desktop just thinking what new creative ideas to work on. I tried working on a company and just give me 2-3 projects per day and I can finish it in less than 8 hours. This is where the problem start you see? These micromanagement has trust issues and cant be healthy on a working environment. I''ll just stick in with my trust-worthy clients.

I completely understand what you mean, creatives (designers, video produces etc.) need periods of quiet uninterrupted space to just think and sit on ideas. That's why all of our settings are customizable so the activity tracking and monitoring can be completely shut off if that's ideal for your situation. As the person who creates the videos naturally I can't be at my computer and active on my mouse 8 hours a day since I'm recording and setting up the studio to film and record audio, but our team recognizes that and my settings reflect that. I'm honestly fed up at this point. Clocking 8hrs on this thing as a developer.... it's not a 9-6 job for me....but a 9-9...cz I also need breaks...and this thing shuts off if I don't move my mouse for 5 mins.
I quit my job just because of this app, it's so frustrating...like delivering my task on time ain't enough....I have to hit 8hrs otherwise they'll cut my pay.

Micromanagement and intrusive. These tools are awful. Measure the RESULTS of the employees' deliverable and NOT HOW they did it along the way. Horrible management!
We have plenty of users who love having the ability to learn more about their teams working habits. It's helped management accommodate the team better. We even have developers who appreciated the screen capture feature because they were able to go back and reference work from previous days. @@Hubstaff how about learning about someone's working habits by simply asking them and having a conversation, not tracking software on their computer. And screenshots can be shared using so many products (email, ms teams, slack, dropbox, etc) that that's cop out
@@samiswilf using so many tools to share screen shots manually though? This simplifies that substantially and automates it. We've had developers who loved the screenshots because they could go back and reference work from the previous day if they needed as an example. Also, the settings for what's tracked and what's not are completely customizable so its something that should be discussed with the team and can be modified to everyone's comfort level.
@@Hubstaffdo you realize why this software is bad… right? There is no positive to this level of privacy manipulation. You ceo saw $ signs and created accordingly. I’d be curious how well the creator of this software would have done if he was getting spied on and micromanaged through the entirety of creating this fascist product.

I wish you would have invest on creating software that would have actually increase the productivity of employees instead of this micromanaging software. In which earth would someone want to take screenshot of their pc and send it to others? It's so frustrating just to know this kind of software exists. 🙄🙄
Hey Imam sorry you feel that way. Our software has helped lots of companies learn more about how their employees work so they can better accommodate them. The productivity features are also completely optional and the employee need to agree to share their information. Information is only tracked while team members are clocked in and only tracked through eh desktop app. You can always record using the web browser for example if you'd prefer not to show any data.

Worst Software for Developer, Work on hubstaff is too boring, as Developer it does not count the time you do paper work or think your logic so the activities level goes down. Yo have to just focus on pc like you as a machine. If you are expert developer and you finish your 10 hours work in 8 hours the rest of 2 hours you will have to lose. Its good if you are a type writer or a robot. For Developer I do not suggest this. If you are working on multiple projects or tasks your most of time goes in focus of start and stop the timer instead of your project's work. I have been working with hubstaff with last 5 years and I have lost lots of money. You have to work 10 hours to complete your billable 6 hours.

Correct Hubstaff doesn't track activity outside of the mouse and keyboard. There are quite a few development teams that use Hubstaff who have no issue with the activity percentages because they can all be customized by the manager. Activity tracking can even be turned off if they prefer. However, we've seen plenty of instances of developers who loved having things like screenshots because they could go back and see exactly what they were working on. seriously who build this tracking software we are human not machine. Can I ask the developer what does it feels when you have to continually look at monitor and active on mouse and keyboard for 10 hrs? Its seriously a chutiyapa bc
@@Hubstaff Yes you do not track activity on no mouse move and on skype call meeting of 1 hour will be reported as 0 activity. So mean we do not work.😀😀
