Your initial comments about how in fiction writing normal grammar rules may not apply is spot on, and I'll be honest, that's why I am planning to use your services at Book Butcher once I get further along in my manuscript.
at 29:00 ish you had a word or two highlighted and that's why Pro Writing Aid didn't find anything. If you highlight a section it will only check that part. Also for crashing, Pro Writing Aid recommends submitting shorter chunks at a time for checks. Did you use the "style" section of Pro Writing Aid? I think some of the errors you pointed out that it didn't catch would have been highlighted under that search.
Hi Derek, can you recommend me a developmental editor to use after I use pro writing aid to help with the general structure of the book please? I am writing non-fiction. Thank you
Becky Miller hey, I’ve used all three (Hemingway, paid and free grammerly, and prowriting aid). Hemingway is really good for bringing your sentences clarity. But if you are writing more complex text (like non fiction or kinda academic) I think it can really mess with your “voice” so I quit using it, because I write non fiction and it felt like it was over simplifying my work. I loved grammerly, first free then paid......and then I found prowriting aid. I just a couple weeks ago canceled my subscription to grammerly. I think pro writing aid is just must more in depth and through. The free version of grammerly, while good, is just very limited....but it does good at what it’s purpose is. 🤷🏼♂️ that’s what I think....
I’m personally in love with prowriting aid. Hemingway has a very limited purpose, that it probably does well, but it’s too limited for most people I think. I think that prowriting aid is much better value and much more in-depth than grammerly. You can find discount codes on the web for prowritingaid, I think I got my subscription for 40% off. And that is my recommendation, and it’s not very close.

Let us know if you ever want to compare writing softwares and we'd be happy to send a free code for Campfire your way!
Sure, I'll check it out!
@@DerekMurphycreativindie who do you recommend in terms of professional editors? I have a nonfiction manuscript, an autobiography.?
Thank you! This is easily the most helpful comparison between the two softwares that I've come across (y)
yeah!

Do you still recommend having an editor after using these two programs? This is very interesting and something I'm going to dive deeper into.
Thanks you. This will help a lot!

Have you ever used the paid app of Hemmingway? If so how would you compare it to these? I used Grammarly's free version currently.
