I had a problem with over penetration on mice and putting holes in the walls and roof. This was with a .177. Put the slugs in backwards (massive hollow point) no problems with accuracy and no more holes in the walls and roof. The results would not be able to be shown on RUclips. You would think they had been vaporised by a .22-250
I have heard that can be done but these new JSB Hades pellets seem to be working well. However they are hard to get hold of so I might try this if I run out of them.

can someone explain night vision capabilities. I'm new to air rifles and when i googled the scope used in this video i saw nothing on it having night vision capabilities. Just curious if maybe i saw an older model or if im not understanding how to get a scope with night vision capabilities too much.
There are many different types of night vision scopes available depending on what you want to spend. As mentioned in the videos I have the ATN 4K Pro 3-14 www.atncorp.com/x-sight4k-pro-day-night-rifle-scope-3-14x This has a few features that I really liked and use. This is both a day and night scope as is the Pard008. There are some that attach to your standard day scope and are really just a night vision camera system.

@@craignapoli We have the same problem with wild horses here in the Southwestern US. People want them left alone to be free and wild and then ignore that there isn't sufficient water or sufficient forage for large animals like that. Then when the BLM rounds them up, there is an uproar. And the BLM doesn't generally euthanize them unless they are diseased or injured. They just get moved somewhere else with adequate food and water. People would prefer the animals get sick and starve rather than their numbers be thinned so a sustainable population can exist.

Enjoyed the vid. I notice the laser splash is a way from the sight reticle position, I have the same ABL and my laser splash is high right, this is a problem sometimes as the splash misses the intended object. If I adjust the splash to be closer to the aiming mark is works great but every time I power down the scope it goes off that setting, to get it back I have to go into the zero ABL menu, but don't have to make a change just back out of the menu and it's back where it should be. Have you had any issues synchronising the ABL to the reticle?
If you set up the ABL during the day, it says to place the visible laser in the center of the Range reticle. The IR laser is only an indicator you still place the target object in the center of the Range reticle to get the correct distance.
as a person doing vermin control on farms (wallaby/rabbits) i love the time you take to try to get a HS , way more humane for the animal even though they are a pest , 95% of my kills are HS and as i just got an ATN 4k pro , you'll some of the action on youtube
@@pippastone4027 yes it does but each time you will have to manually input the range. This takes time and if you're lining up on a shot the quicker you get onto target the better.
In many parts of Australia pet cats must be kept inside at night. Also our farms are large and if a cat does not belong to the farmer it is feral and must be controlled. There literally are millions of them destroying our native animals and birds to the point of extinction. Past mistakes to introduce various animals have caused huge problems.

I have it set on the .117/.22 power wheel and 3 for the hammer spring. Using the JSB Hades there is little pass through on chest shot pigeon, but I still get some passing through on the rats.

There are quite a few rats here but this is nothing compared to one of the other farms I go to.

I don't get them very often now that I am using these Hades pellets as they are of a fragmenting design.

When I was 17 I got a job shooting rats at the back of a meat factory using an air rifle with open sights some of the rats we're as big as small cats
Have yet to get them that big, but they do grow quite large.

Does the range finder compensate for pellet ballistics? I ask because regardless of the distance hold over or under isn't apparent.
Yes these scopes have an internal ballistic computer. Once you get them setup correctly they are fantastic.

Cheers mate you need to get the ATN ABL1000-1500 to get the most out of the ATN 4K Pro.

Wow, nice video. Watched a lot of ratting videos but none ever had an exploding dung beetle...thanks for that. Did you have to use a silver pellet on the vampire rat that was drinking his friends blood? Haha!
Lol yeah the beetles are just a bit of fun and as for the vampire rat. Silver wasn't necessary as it seems lead is just as good. Then again isn't silve for werewolves?

Interesting how you can track the path of the pellet!
Just the reflection of the Infrared light off the back of the pellet, as there is no other visible light it is picked up well by the Night scopes.

I noticed on this video compared to your recent ones, better resolution but I notice here the reticle wavers a bit as compared with your recent vids where it’s locked on with no movement. I can only assume that’s the tripod? If so, which do you recommend? Any good monopods? Thanks again for your time. 😁
The tripod I use is the BOG Deathgrip, great item just bulky and awkward to move with.

Not the cats and foxes are a feral pest that cause damage to the farmers livestock as well as the native animals in the area.

Hi What setting on the air rifles, do you get much pass through on the rats/pigeons? Cheers keep the great vids.
I have it set on the .117/.22 power wheel and 3 for the hammer spring. Using the JSB Hades there is little pass through on chest shot pigeon, but I still get some passing through on the rats.
The rats was like “ whats that? 👁👄👁”
That my little furry friend is a JSB Hades travelling at around 800fps headed straight at your noggin.
