One way or another this came to be and they has apparently heaps of fun when filming this.

This scene made me feel so bad for Judy, i know she did some pretty bad things but she did good things at the end like helping Lana escape, Judy was such a character and seeing her lose her humanity was pretty devastating.
Totally. One of the features of her character is that she believes she’s “just doing her job” the way she was trained. She isn’t actually evil - she really thinks she’s helping these people 🤔 My degree is in psych and when we look back at mental health institutions of the past, we wonder how anyone can do these things to other people… but the truth is, a lot of the time, the doctors and nuns believed they were doing the correct thing 😔 “Science” told them this was how you treat people (of course, we now know it was all wrong but back then they believed it 100%!). A great example was insulin therapy for mental illness - it was pretty dangerous and completely useless but it was believed to be a great treatment 😩🤷♀️ It’s very like the show Ratched. They really focus on the theme of “I promise this is for your own good” and I loved it! It showed the fine line between just following your training/accepted medical practice, believing it’s the right thing to do… or feeling like you’re actually just being cruel and it doesn’t really work. It’s a very subtle line.
i think thats one of the main themes of this series - the asylum can and does destroy anyone and no matter how terrible they might have been, its always tragic...im just glad that judy had a beautiful and calm ending to her life❤️i think she deserved it.

The funny thing, though, is that even though it's all happening in her head, Kit and Lana still look at each other with concern and confusion at first. Like Jude knows they'd pick up on something being wrong or... I dunno.

Asylum is the best season ever, intense and pure evil, and terrifying this moment made me cry a lot for those people who had to suffer so much in just one tiny light of moment.
It was the worst story ever, BUT it was presented VERY well. There was a nazi, zombie like things, aliens, a killer, and so much more. They couldn't stick with a theme 😂

I wanna say this is one of my favourite seasons, but it was so dark and depressing that I almost had to quit half-way through (I didn't though.) It just made me feel sad and it really hurt seeing Lana cry so much (I like her the most.) It was good, but I wouldn't watch it again.
I liked Timothy's arc but it ended disappointing. He was clearly a holy and devoted man tho he was corrupted by the idea of power. He gets on a road to redemption and apologizes to Judy before going to kill sister Mary with the devil in her. Even the winged angel lets him live as his purpose was not yet fulfilled, so we get to see him apologizing and pleading for forgiveness from Judy, ending up killing the demon and Mary with it. But after that Judy treats him like a trash again for being raped by the demon? And he, for some reason, forgets about all his experiences and starts being a douchebag again. So it was really confusing how in one scene he is crying and apologizing to Judy, and the the next time they meed Judy treats him like trash idk.

They did have a bonding moment when he confessed to her that he is sorry and she told him to kill the possessed girl. Also, Judy was not fully sane as she was lobotomized with electric shocks, but I do agree that she wouldn't belong there. Yet there is no scene to shows us that she tried to talk to him to release her after they had that bonding moment. It's like a piece is missing, they swap from that moment to the one where Judy is making fun of him for being raped by the devil.
I remember when I was 15 and wanted my friends to get into ahs, when they finally watched for the first time on netflix we would skip classes to hang out at my house and do some ahs marathons, I was so excited they would see this episode because of how iconic it is, after that we started playing the name game every now and then just to have some fun, the best moments of my life so far
I adore everything about Sarah Paulson, especially after they named her Lana "Banana" (referring to Lana Del Rey) AND they look almost the same! i truly loved every second of this season, the entire cast was just perfect

You have the Devil, a bunch of fanatic nuns, a serial killer, a nazi doctor, Anne Frank, a diabolical Santa and FUCKING MARTIANS in the same story and everything fits perfectly. For me, they were never able to succeed this syncretism because all the other seasons give a feeling of pieces of stories hardly glued together. From episode 4 to 11 (despite the 6), this is just an increase of tension, stress and pleasure. Oh my god, I remember myself eating my fingers. This season was simply clever, frightening but majorly well-played.
It was so nice to watch this the first time and have just an uplifting moment but after rewatching it this just makes it all the more scary thanks to all the little touches, like the characters dancing out of control and the sudden drop when the song ends.
Murphy talked about the fact to maybe one make them return to develop them more, it would be goat. Big actually I like them, it gives a mystic and suspens aura to this season, and they are cool because thanks to them the kid could remove Judy's alzheimer

Felt like a lot of the sub-plots they introduced with the extra ghosts didn't really go anywhere or just did the same thing again and again. But I didn't get into GoT the first time I watched so could be wrong?

The camerawork is simply gorgeous. There’s very few stables shots without extreme movement in it making the whole scene feel super disorienting and unstable, just like the woman who’s head this is all in. Such an amazing scene with beautiful camerawork, acting and singing by Jessica lang

God this scene seems so happy but is really messed up. The fact it was all in Judy's head was depressing as she could barely remember her own name due to the electroshock therapy
I miss Jessica. I love that basically what she wanted, ryan put in. She wanted to be glamours and wear designers, coven, wanted to do singing, freak show.

this scene will always be my favourite. 5 years ago, my brother showed my this scene and never told me where it was from and i just loved the song. 5 years later, i start watching AHS thinking nothing of it- and then i heard this song. i started crying because my brother is going to university this year and i’m really going to miss him and this song just reminds me of him.

Despite this season desperately grasping for anything to define it, i think it may be one of the most effective uses of despair to induce horror.

You have the Devil, a bunch of fanatic nuns, a serial killer, a nazi doctor, Anne Frank, a diabolical Santa and FUCKING MARTIANS in the same story and everything fits perfectly. For me, they were never able to succeed this syncretism because all the other seasons give a feeling of pieces of stories hardly glued together.
From episode 4 to 11 (despite the 6), this is just an increase of tension, stress and pleasure. Oh my god, I remember myself eating my fingers. This season was simply clever, frightening but majorly well-played.
Fouad Hadjali I agree, Asylum was a piece of art and the best season, maybe only surpassed by Apocalypse.
But Anne Frank never appeared in Asylum.

It was so nice to watch this the first time and have just an uplifting moment but after rewatching it this just makes it all the more scary thanks to all the little touches, like the characters dancing out of control and the sudden drop when the song ends.

You can see how honestly happy they are like Lana you can see her smiling and not forcing it and judy is just having the time of her life
Asylum is one of the best seasons. Take out the aliens and it would’ve been perfect.
Murphy talked about the fact to maybe one make them return to develop them more, it would be goat. Big actually I like them, it gives a mystic and suspens aura to this season, and they are cool because thanks to them the kid could remove Judy's alzheimer

Such a great scene for real. Jessica Lange nailed it. So uplifting, and it's great to see the actors' faces, their REAL expressions, how bloody well they enjoyed it.
I think this scene reflects how mentally ill people really feel,they feel confused,scared and helpless but no one understands them, this scene seems happy bcuz of dancing and song but its ironic although I love this scene same as first time I saw it and this show is really unique

@@scaryrumpus The first season had a slow and predictable plot with a fair few amount of loopholes iirc. Felt like a lot of the sub-plots they introduced with the extra ghosts didn't really go anywhere or just did the same thing again and again. But I didn't get into GoT the first time I watched so could be wrong?

The camerawork is simply gorgeous. There’s very few stables shots without extreme movement in it making the whole scene feel super disorienting and unstable, just like the woman who’s head this is all in. Such an amazing scene with beautiful camerawork, acting and singing by Jessica lang
