Simply enchanting and vast sounding.. takes it from the snowy cold drifts of the region in the game, and gives it more of a 'Samus riding inertia across the galactic frontier to preserve fuel, watching as large celestial bodies go by' kind of feeling to it, power suit off and thoughts wandering. It's not a Phendrana Drift.. _'tis an Outer Space Drfit.'_
Another killer ambient track. This one has been covered so many times. This surely is one of the few best (that's my favorite). There's so much well used creativity with instruments selection, even a caps bowl is sounding great here. Well done.
This might sound strange, but the way you remade this song gives such a Darksiders 2 OST vibe. I love it cos Darksider 2 is one of my favorite games out there, as well as the Metroid Prime series. This is seriously amazing.
I don't know how you figured each of these instruments into making the sounds you did, but this was PERFECT. Straight into my playlist. As you might notice, this is my namesake. I'm giving you the highest compliment I can, this was an amazing rendition of The Drifts. I loved every second!
Fantastic Ollie. I remember playing this game nearly 20 years ago when I first went to college and when playing for the first time I caught the first few notes of this song, I had to stop crank up the volume and just let it play. One of the only times I remember actually stopping what I was doing to listen, the other time was when the saxophone kicks in from Asphalt and Ablution - Halo ODST - My reaction, "Wait is that a saxophone?!" 😎
Hell yeah! Takes me back to when I got Prime for my 11th bday, i remember how amazing the Drifts looked, wowed me more than any other game at that point. Also good timing as we just got another crumb of Metroid Prime 4 tease last week!
Bruh... This video should have 100x more views. This is one of my favorite original renditions of any OST I've heard. But I am surprised about something: The banjo guy has not yet done "Joy Joy Time" from Suikoden...? What gives? LOL
Excellent. This game has a special place in my heart and this track is especially memorable. What a cool adventure that was. Thank you for putting this together.
Oh, this is really good! It's even more haunting than the original. There's a metal version that I've loved for a decade and you've unseated it as my favorite.
@@josephhughes3490 Oh, most assuredly. The entire "Varia Suite" album is fantastic, but there's something very fun and special with the use of unconventional instruments that Ollie uses across all these Metroid pieces.
amazing... amazing... from the very first seconds I was in rapture. I am so lucky to hear this portrayed on these vast disparate instruments. What have I stumbled upon??? an Oud. a cello? no a fiddle? NO. its a beauty of guitar. an Ukulele. a squeezebox. drums and a tinny thingy chime box. a banjo. AMAZING. JAW DROPPING. WAIT, WHY IS IT OVER???
Better than the entire soundtrack of Metroid Dread, right here. And what an amazing cover! Ollie is just so damned good... (Metroid Dread was a fun game, but it lacked a distinct character of music.)
@@banjoguyollie You’re the man! 😊 I hope you have a super awesome vacation in France with your family and you all have a really wonderful time, you deserve a good rest!!! 🎸🔥 🍹

@@banjoguyollie Cool I'll have to check them out You got quite a bit of stuff might take a while. The bad part about knowing your music from Spotify you miss out on quite a bit.

Fun fact: This used to be the hold music for Nintendo of America's customer support.
There are people who call Nintendo's customer support?

This was a magic moment in the game. Brilliantly recreated!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ one of my favorites from Prime
Phendrana Drifts music really has that cold and calm feel of isolation and its the best, this rendition of the song is absolutely fantastic!
thanks a lot

ha nice story . thanks :)
Man you make anything sound like a gateway to another dimension. Love it
I feel like this is the song that would play on the dawn of the day after the world ends... hauntingly beautiful Ollie!
thanks... who'd be playing it though if the world ended ???
aawww now my head hurts!!
Agree, there is a sadness but it's so beautiful.

Absolutely incredible as always. Love the more intimate theme here
A gorgeous rendition of one of my fave tracks from Prime. Subbed!
this is now my absolute favorite rearrangement of this piece of music
This is really good - As I watched I was excited to see which instrument you used for each part of the song!
How appropriate, considering how foggy and rainy it is this morning.
Great track as always -- an excellent closer to your Metroid collection.
I became a patron to hear you do some Metroid and you've delivered big time, man. Fucking epic.
thanks for the support dude :) ❤
I love it. You've done a great jon in capturing both the old desolate icy feeling plus with some new brighter tones.
Extremely deep, dark and powerful ambient... a great one !
Wow, this is so elaborate and great. All those instruments, it's like a PPF cover.
1:02 I knew it! Simon has a drinking problem!

Such a great track. Awesome execution as always Ollie!

Amazing! Very creative sounds you extract for it! I love it!
Woww what a masterpiece i cant believe you actually made Phendrana Drifts. So many goos memories.Thank you Ollie

Another piece that you're adding so much soul in it. Cheers.
thanks very much. yeah it's a rich track originally.
I love your metroid content! So good!
