I had telecommunications basics in one of my university courses. This was interesting to watch as it combines my hobby as a sound engineer and (part of) my education as network engineer.

I’m extremely excited to see these in the field. Congratulations Sennheiser on truly revolutionizing wireless audio technology!!!

More companies should do videos like this, just let the engineers talk. Like DAMN, I want to rush out and buy this with my own money just because it is so freaking cool, despite the fact that I have absolutely zero actual use for it.

Crazy to think that it took 30 years for techniques like TDMA to move from cell phones to wireless audio

Would love to see a handheld microphone of course but also an XLR attachment device like you did for ewd

Would love to see a smaller base station option as well with less channels

Saw a demo of this system last year, very impressive. Question, can you distribute the antenna's with regular TCP/IP (POE) switches, and maybe add more antenna's throughout a venue?

Hi there, you cannot. Direct connection from base station socket to one single antenna, either with CAT5e 100m maximum or through fiber with media converter up to 4km.

Switches would add significant additional latency, hence its designed for point to point connection for the antennas. Multiple antennas can though be connected and used at the same time for range extension.

Thank you doing this. Everyone uses Shure because they have the best RF workflow. They have the best software, but the worst sounding mics.
I’ve been a Sennheiser fan for years because the capsules sound so good.

Bi-directional beltpacks? To have both mic TX and monitor RX in a single beltpack.

So you need a full TV-Channel no matter how many channels you actually use?

At 10k for the base station and 2k for a bi directional pack it’s cheap.
