I wish speakers like this (among all of the think-tanks and institutions, not just this one) would talk much more bluntly and directly. I’ve listened to hundreds of hours of these types of talks and most of it is filler and I learn little (if anything at all).
The Japanese speaker here (I’ll have to go back and note his name when I’m done) was refreshingly blunt at times (paraphrasing):
“China will gobble up the pacific islands one by one.”
“When China thinks its time has come it will make its move (e.g. Taiwan).”
“We (Japan) are alone here! Who (besides the US) will deter/stand up to/fight China? Certainly not South Korea!”
We need much more of this blunt, direct and PLAIN type of talk. Otherwise it’s not much more than blabbering to the bubble.
I have so much more to say but this is RUclips, so I’ll refrain.
edit: I believe his name is Nobukatsu Kanehara.
