My late father had a blue one, I used to get it out of the shed and ride up and down the drive while he was out :-) Looks virtually the same as yours Martin.
This project makes great content for me as there’s just something special about that bike ( looking forward to the restoration part ) , thanks for this one Martin
Martain I have been waiting for this video for over two years mate its one bike that took my eye when u bought it in I had lits of bikes like this when a teenager great to see one again I will lo e watching every video on this bike great video Phil in stoke
This takes me back, used to ride these on the coal tip near my house in the 1970's when I was a kid. Could pick these up very cheap back then, used to hammer 2p's in the flywheel when the clutch slipped Lol.
I'm so glad you are doing the Mobylette. I've been looking forward to getting home to watch your video. They are a lovely classic mopeds and are bit fussy to work on, but I'm sure you will do your magic. Take care, Jeff
Martin I’ve been waiting and waiting for this and thanks it’s finally getting the Butler treatment… I’ve been to plenty of farm, agricultural sales along with carboot sales etc and seen plenty but won’t buy any until I’ve seen the expert aka Martin Butler show how it’s done I’ve only ever attempted projects until I’ve seen you do them and I’ve been itching to get one of these since me conversion into adulthood in the early 80’s and one of me mates had one I remember everyone used to ride each other’s bikes back then and this was the fastest 50cc out of all of them believe it or not but only for a day or two then it was the slowest 😆…. Good luck Mate and as I said I’ve been waiting a long time for this project all the best to you and your family Martin
Back in France in the 80's these used to be modified like the scooterists and scooter boys used to do with their Vespas and Lambrettas. I've seen chopped ones and chromed ones and dropped street racers and rats.
Hi, loved the strip down on this project- will there be a follow up vid, or have you got too much else in the go? My Dad had one almost identical to yours( except his had a round headlamp), in the early 60’s, and I got to use it as my first moped in the late 70’s. As I recall, although it had sat in the shed for around 10 years, it was easy to get it running again. Absolutely loved it, until I got a 2nd hand Yamaha FS1E. It went back in the shed, and I think my Dad let it go when my parents moved house in the 90’s Great channel, Thanks!
I have been wondering when you were going to start on this bike martin, she should scrub up nice, very reliable and econonable in their day, lovely Jublie... 👍👀👏
Hi Martin, Nice to see you getting started on this one, hope you can find the parts to keep it original, but I have a feeling some might be hard to obtain as there’s not to many of these around. What’s the inside of the tank like? Every Puch I get needs to be cleaned with the acid method I use. I’m looking forward to the next instalment thanks for the video 🙂👍
Hey Martin love the new project, do you have any updates on Project man how’s he doing and will we get to see the master at work again soon… keep up the great videos
Hi Martin, when you start a job like this do you research availability for parts before you start,or is it just down to your experience that you know what you can get your hands on? Looking forward to seeing the rest of the videos 👍👍
Hi Martin, thanks for all the great videos, me and the missus are subscribers to all your channels! Did you ever do anything with this old Mobylette? do you still have it? I can see this one is a bit of a mess if you've lost interest are you interested in moving it on? I do like these old things and already own a 1974 50V Mobylette. Regards Paul
Been off the road for 34 years. It doesn't even need a SORN. Last V5C issued on 14th March 1985. You haven't had this bike that long have you? Road Tax class - exempt
I had one of them things Martin....and it was the most unreliable, nastily built piece of french trash... The engineering is awful on em....and to think they were still churning em out in the early 80s.. Best of luck with it...
