You prolly dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me atm then you can stream all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend recently =)
The first doctor made it look like she gave a death sentence... and the 2nd one like she was just diagnosing the flu... Somewhere in the middle should be best
The 1st one was pretty good, real and she was sympathetic. The 2nd one was informal and she said we will just cure you. Probably was showing the right vs wrong way to do it..
The SPIKES method is an excellent resource. Has anyone found a really good demonstration video on RUclips using that method for breaking the news that someone has a terminal illness? Those I've seen so far, have a lot of room for improvement.
Lip smacking by the student-doctor is annoying. To those who say "it's not the bad news" or "it's not like it is AIDS or cancer" - this is standardized exams and actors are told to exaggerate the reaction to throw the students off. Unfortunately. This is all they could come up with and this is being picked up by other schools, in different countries.
Are you alone today? You know then you’ve got less than 6 months! ...wait what? - he has rheumatoid arthritis? I know it’s bad but surely he’d have some kind of inclination. “You’ll be fine” sure, few hip replacements, you’ll be on a stick for the rest of your life, your hands will be nothing more than crippled claws and you’ll be in a lot of pain for the rest of your life. “Nothing to worry about”
+Shaobo Lei That's the problems with medical students/doctors nowadays. You look it as just rheumatoid arthritis. I see it as a PE teacher, who has mortgages, children to look after. With rheumatoid arthritis, he wont be able to work and pay for his expenses. Imagine if Usain Bolt had RA, he'd be devastated.
Neither the one "student" nor the other was actually listening. Whatever the test is, you've got to find someone who matches up o the patient. It just ain't happening.
We've made a 2021 update of this video, demonstrating Breaking Bad News in a Remote or Virtual OSCE Station. You may recognise the actor involved ;-) ruclips.net/video/rn5LHtcnCtQ/видео.html
I think I need a hearing aid to understand what he speaks. My 34 years of English learning is wasted 😢 feels like watching some horror fantasy English movie
This is genuinely how medical students are trained to APPEAR as if they care about their patients. Unfortunately, the result always ends up as forced, robotic and insincere - anyone with a shred of emotional intelligence can practically see her thinking, 'deliver warning shot, leave a pregnant pause, acknowledge patient's feelings, hand patient a tissue, provide informative leaflet etc'. I'm sorry, but you can't rote learn empathy and the fact that this has to be taught in medical schools, is pretty disappointing. Anyone with genuine compassion and empathy does all these things naturally and does it without coming across as a mindless automaton. Sadly, such people are vanishingly rare within the healthCARE profession.
This man is the best actors in the world

@Zayden Colt definitely, I've been using instaflixxer for since december myself :)
@Zayden Colt Yea, I've been using instaflixxer for years myself =)
Even does a knock-dead Irish accent. 🍀
1st Doctor: "You have Rheumatoid Arthritis"
Patient: _cries in pain_
2nd Doctor: "You have Rheumatoid Arthritis"
Patient: "That's great news"
This man deserves an Oscar
And a lifetime supply of Lucky Charms!
🍀🍯 🌈

Man you just shattered Paul McCartney's world with that Arthritis diagnosis lol.
I've been doing OSCE exams with this guy for years!!! hahaha... He's everywhere!!!

The 2nd one is behaving just like she will cure his RA with just a magic spell in seconds 😆😆😆
But the good news is, your doctor is smoking hot
"Plenty of alternative... help". I think she realised that she sounded like she was advocating voodoo medicine LOL
When they ask you if you'd like to have someone else in the room = usually not good news.
He can't be a PE teacher anymore but he could take up acting
Good Station ends at 04:40

2nd student
No, not the right way. I would prefer the 1st one, who sympathized with the patient. It's more real.
That gave me a good laugh very good actor.

i thought he is a REAL patient.
Come on, it's just rheumatoid arthritis!

The 2nd one was just giving unrealistic information to the pt! You should be honest with the pt doctor!

Second one much better than first one )))) First one delivered news as it was a cancer case.

Talk about contrasts. First one: you'll never walk again. Second one: keep running those marathons up mountains...
hi

Pair of jokers,an embarrassment to those with the condition
jesus neither of these assessments are good !
