Really great topic! As someone involved in different facets of that industry as a former professional (photographer, hair, fashion etc.) I slowly unraveled that world personally and started to do some of those things mentioned naturally as I stepped away. So much waste, pollution and marketing nonsense. Not to mention the dangerous de-humanizing of models and workers. Just buy quality shit that you need and that’s functional to live and work in. It should last you decades to come if you take care of it, like all your equipment and gear. All the rest is just crap you don’t need.

This is what makes brands like Origin so Awesome everything completely made in the good ole USA.

The china to US "made in usa" is similar in manufacturing. I worked in a machine shop that did stainless fittings, mostly for for food and drug facilities. Most of the small items came from china and if we modified, or touched a tool to it, "made in USA".

Great ep as usual, and big props to Ironclad for branching out into these diverse topics that have deep impacts on human suffering and our survival as a species. I hope more and more people take the time to check out the show because it’s not only great, but it’s also courageous and forward-thinking.

This one reinforces my poor opinions about brands like Patagonia,Sitka, North Face and REI. (I could go on) companies that sell garbage polyester in the name of sustainability and/or outdoor lifestyle make me sick.

Ah yes, the Procrustean bed of carbon emissions. Every human activity, including breathing, can be considered polluting. We will always be trading resource usage for human flourishing.

This podcast is like Rage Against The Machine except it actually provides stats and solutions. I understand ratm and music is considered an artistic medium but they would mention trying to change things but Alls they did was make a bunch of pissed off teenagers who don’t do anything. Or maybe they are doing things I’m unaware of.
This show is awesome- that’s my main point

I don't think China's emissions are that of "almost the United States." China's emissions are significantly higher

Cause they worship him he is their god, men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil.
