  • Welcome to the second episode of the Curtiss SB2C-4 Helldiver video build. The kit is in 1/72nd scale and is manufactured by Cyber Hobby (Dragon). It is a very nice and well detailed kit with just a few low points. This episode will take us trough the assembly, painting, weathering and finally the completion of this scale model.

    Absolutely fantastic work mate. Just splendid all throughout. I just started doing 1/72, and I'll be glad if any of my stuff turn out even 1/4th as good as yours. Learned a lot, keep up the good work!

      MM Scale Models и аз никога не си харесвам моите, но това е проклятието на нащо хоби защото си виждаме грешките. А бих ли могъл да попитам дали xtreme metal са акрилни или не и с какво мога да ги разреждам. :)

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  6 лет назад +1

      Не са акрилни, не мога да ти кажа какви са, но според мен нямат нужда от разреждане.

    great job, weathering is superb, would it not have been easier to do the riveting before assembly? really enjoyed it though and will be looking forward to seeing more 👏👏

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks, yes it is easier but I prefer to do the rivets after I apply the primer for a number of reasons.

      @@MMScaleModels one other question. I see you doing pre shading/molting on your models, i also see you are spraying VERY close to them. What kind of Psi are you running on your compressor? Im sure low psi and highly diluted white paint???

    Your videos are very entertaining to watch, and i learn a lot from them, you are a very skilled modeller :)
    Also, what is the name of the paint and thinner you used for the filter sponge technique? I really liked it

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  6 лет назад

      Thanks mate, in this case I used mr.hobby acrylics and their thinner but any acrylic paint should do the job.

  • @FernandoHenrique-ij3tt

    Did you use the same PLW (sky gray) for the lower part of the plane? amazing video! All the best! Fernando

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  6 лет назад +1

      Hey Fernando, Yes I used the same PLW for the underside. Maybe it's a bit pale for the light blue.

    Awesome finish love these WW2 dive bombers. How much Mr. Levelling thinner do you add to your GX12 and GX13?

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  6 лет назад +1

      At least 50/50 but 70/30 for the thinner is also good, at least for me. I use calibrated eyeballs for this 😁

    • @SmallSoldier
      @SmallSoldier 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah I'm the same. I have done 50-50 as well and it seems to spray up nice. Only thing is the odour 😲is quite strong but I love how fast it dries.🙂

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  6 лет назад +1

      Yes the odour is noticeable :) but that is part of what makes it so good.

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  6 лет назад +1

      50:50 is good starting point. But not all brands are the same.

    Здравей друже :) мисля че твоя мащаб е от 48-ми нагоре.
    Корема добре се е получил, но отгоре леко куца. Може би трябва да смесиш техниките с моливите и "реалното" отлющването на боята :) предполагам че резултата отново ще е на ниво. Видях миг-чето на живо в Лариса, наистина красиво стои, но малко лъскаво идва на живо.
    П.П.: Честито за наградените ти модели на изложбата в Гърция - така се прави, Браво :)

    18:18 and the worser part is that they've made attachment of these landing gear 'shields' wrong! if you google some SB2C pics, you'l see that landing gear shields should be in line with landing gear bays, but in this kit they don't. cyberhobby disappointed me

    • @MMScaleModels
