Thank you for your lovely comments! To be clear- I’m still continuing to make videos! There will not be a pause! I will just be doing things other than ballet classes specifically for a bit! And this mostly pertains to the membership. Hoping to do another Nutcracker deconstruction this week! Plus, other videos coming soon too. ❤

I need to tell you how much your videos have helped me. I LOVED ballet; not jazz, not tap, and definitely not modern nor lyrical. I enjoyed watching others do all of those. Ballet held my heart. I wasn’t fond of the theatrical part especially between man and woman in pas de deux. You have restored my passion and have demonstrated how even when you have setbacks there’re still ways to indulge. Your barres are amazing in how balanced they are. Your interpretation of music along with your actual playing as accompaniment are spot on. So thank you! I don’t know what I’d do without you.

This feels like such a win-win situation - you get a well-deserved break and your members get some different teaching styles and perspectives.
Side note: that blue looks really good on you! ❤

4:37 I completely agree! It’s so important to get feedback, input and corrections from different teachers. I trained regularly with 3 different teachers in the past couple of years and everyone of them does have their own focus and I learned so much!
In my opinion that’s what makes a well rounded dancer.

So thankful for all the years you gave us. I was a teenager when I found your content and you were really like a big sister to me!
When I first found you, I had also been diagnosed with hashimotos and it really felt like the universe pushed me to you because of it, as cheesy as that may sound.
I began to teach but then I completely quit all things ballet for a while and missed it dearly, but found the fatigue from my hashimotos was really too hard to keep up with. Later discovered that for me it wasn’t hashimotos at all but a different autoimmune disease.
I’m now getting back into ballet, as much as I can with my illness and am even considering studying pedagogy to teach more at some point.
Thanks for being our ballet big sister. You showed us that ballet had so many paths and opportunities beyond just being a principal at a company, which really wouldn’t have happened for me. You also let me feel like the highs and lows of ballet were normal and it was okay to not let it dominate my life all the time.

Gosh! When you look back at the last couple of years since you launched KM & Friends and everything you have done and kept doing it is not surprising that you feel burnout. Of course your teaching NEVER betrayed your feelings and was always lovely cheery and great instruction. I have learned so much from your classes and I can feel my improvement. I often go back to older recordings so having that resource available is great. And I agree learning from different teachers is very valuable. However, nobody can ever really replace your charming way of instructing which always makes doing your classes fun. I wish you all the very best and hope you get a well deserved rest. Thank you.

Awww thank you! And that’s important to me- no matter what, it’s so important to show up and give your absolute best. So even if I was feeling burnout, I still try and give 100%!

hope you have a wonderful restful break! i appreciate all you've done for ballet content on youtube and the art in general. i wouldn't have developed the love for it that i have without you. i did it as a kid and then forgot about it. you reawakened my love as an adult!!!! as an audience member and amateur dancer!! ive read books about margot fonteyn and balanchine etc and i wouldnt have pursued the interest at all without kathryn morgan!!!

As a new adult ballet student (3 months in), I've been so inspired by your helpful content! I've even shared your channel with a classmate. My teacher was impressed with my progress last week and asked, "Have you been practicing?" Your impact is truly incredible.
I'm so glad to hear you're prioritizing self-care. You've given us so much, and now it's time to return the favor to yourself. Take all the time you need to rest and recharge. I can't wait to see what you share with us when you return, and in the meantime, I'll continue to learn from your valuable content.

Let me just say, go you for allowing yourself to take a break 👍🏻 It’s so good to let yourself step back and relax for a minute and when you decide to come back (no rush!) you’ll have a new take on teaching and how to take care of yourself moving forward (I am speaking from experience 😊)
And having all these new guest teachers is so exciting! It really fits the Kathryn Morgan and Friends name and mission of having all sorts of ballet lovers- both student and teachers- come together to dance. So this was a great move!
I’m excited to see what videos you have in store! (Looking forward to more ballet deconstructed!)
(Also I am sure Finn is so happy about this decision cuz he’ll get more play time 🤣)

I got so much out of your recent ballet classes (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) that I just wanted to let you know, burnt out or not, you are a wonderful teacher (and dancer). Always good to take a break if needed though and get refreshed. - Happy Thanksgiving.

One thing I've learned teaching jiu jitsu and Zumba. Just because it's monotonous to you doesnt mean it's monotonous to your followers. Some people crave consistency. Especially in Ballet it's what we need.
That being said you do you!!!! It's hard sometimes to find your why so please take care! We all love what you've given us! You don't even know sometimes when you say 1 sentence like I'm so happy to see adults on pointe ehat that means to a 52 year old dancer. So never cut yourself short !!! Good luck and thanks for being such a role model and at least we have all your old videos:) ❤

One series I would LOVE to see which may or may not be a nice change of pace for you is teaching VARIATIONS !!! As an adult who never got taught them as a child, I would love to learn them but find it very hard to learn from the youtube videos. I find it helps so much as an adult dancer to actually get to DANCE and perform a routine instead of just doing combinations all the time.
If you wanted to put a twist on it to add your creative side into it, you could make the series something like "variations adapted for adult beginners", but I think targeted more at the intermediate/advanced level of adult beginners, so that a lot of the integrity and character of the choreography is still maintained, but most of us can't do double pique turns and Italian fouettes :) It would also be in flat ballet shoes of course so it might be a bit easier on your body? And of course it would just be for fun so I don't think you'd be offending anybody by adapting the choreography or mixing in different styles like Russian/Balanchine into one variation (maybe this would also help get around copyright?.
Would love to see this and hear tons of tips focusing on ARTISTRY of characters (and not so much the technique or mechanics of developpes and fouettes you know). I want to hear about your tips on portraying these characters like Odile/Odette, Kitri, Esmeralda, Swanhilda, Gamzatti, Dying Swan, Queen of Hearts ( I know you wanted to do this one!), etc!
The reason why I think a series like this might be fun for you and also benefit the adult dance community is because we might be doing the variations with legs at 45 degrees and single turns, right, that's not going to change over night. BUT what we could get out of this is all of your tips and tricks on portraying these characters (which you seem super knowledgable about and keen on sharing) and actually learning things that we CAN fix overnight like how to correctly position swan arms, swan-like epaulement and heads, epaulement for royal characters and how that's different from a spritely fairy.
I remember in your sugarplum video you were talking about the line between being royal but also a bit mischievous- PLEASE help us out! I’m talking tell us when to smirk at the audience in Kitri and Odile, how to portray that childlike innocence in Swanhilda and Giselle act 1, how to have a more ghost-like ethereal presence in Giselle act 2 or Myrtha or Dying Swan- It's all those little details that we DO NOT learn but could make us feel like we are actually performing the characters even if we can't do all the steps- eye gaze, head placement, emotional portrayal, all the way down to finger tip flicks

Thank you for continuing to try to post as much as you can for us Kathryn, you just keep doing the best that you can, literally whatever you post makes me happy, I don't care if it's not everyday or so often all of the time, you do you girl, our mental health and well being always comes first:)
Also, did you see Wicked yet? It was really good, I never grew up with wicked, I was literally born like one year after it came out, so when I heard this movie was going to come out, I was looking forward to it. I've done your wicked barre like a couple of times now, so I was able to notice some of the songs they were singing😅
Everything was so good, Cynthia and Ariana were amazing, I know they made Idina and Kristen really proud!

That being said, if you're not enjoying it, I'm glad that you are giving yourself a break so you can have the chance to love it again. The closer you keep to the things you're burned out from, the longer and the worse it will be. Not trying to tell you what to do, just my personal experience! If I were you I'd take a long vacation, possibly abroad, and do something completely different - painting, math-classes, chess, hiking, as long as it has nothing to do with dancing. Take care, I hope you'll be better soon!

Can you please release the swan lake beginner center you said you would release years ago?🥹 or a guest teacher, though no one compares to you or Maria.
Is it possible to have Chris teach some? His videos on your channel are excellent too!
Though honestly I go back to your barre pre 2018 all the time.
Can we do the Black Friday if we currently have a membership?
Totally get the burnout. You’ve been on RUclips for over ten years.
    Sorry for the long ramble😣
