I think the best option is to just leave your hair alone lol. I cut all my hair off in Sept 2023 and now it’s back in an Afro and can go into ponytail. It’s about 6 inches right now when stretched. Since I'm currently on a very tight budget, I've had no choice but to go back old school! 😆 Let me tell you something... I've given Africa's Best hair product line a try and I just CHERISH it to the max! ❤ AB's products are very cost friendly and are filled with ingredients that are quite beneficial to natural hair as well as the scalp: shea butter, coconut oil, egg protein, wheat germ, etc. Believe me, I have retained much length and have had zero flaky, itchy scalp using Africa's Best haircare products! 😃
I recently tried some hydration line, a naturale rose and some oil from a popular mobile braider and my hair was growing. I have a protective style, some crochets, and just leave it alone for a couple months. The majority of us with 4c hair have never had the opportunity for someone to literally show how and everything else with it. Now its❤❤❤❤❤❤
Litterally using the African pride leave in as well as my green Olive oil cream. It works better than all my camille rose or other expensive products 😊 Don't sleep on keracare products. I can't change shampoo, it's just the best!
Yes that African Pride grease worked wonders and I’ll give the rest of this Keracare (conditioner) another shot before I throw it away🤣 Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
I’ve been natural since 2018 and I went back to using pink lotion in 2021 it doesn’t work for my hair. It only worked with my relaxed hair. Blue magic is still my go to
This happened to me recently 🤣 you wouldn’t believe this.. It didn’t come out right and she told me to come back to the salon the next day and she would do it over using a clarifying shampoo all for free. She was a woman of her word, I came back and it turned out great 👍🏾

I went back to S Curl no drip moisturiser and it made my hair very soft and moisturised for 4 days. My hair is very dry and low porosity so this has worked for me and I will keep using it.

Unfortunately, I can attest to this, I think the convenience of the oil really caused us to stem away from the grease. But most of not all of the times I felt that if I just treat my scalp then everything would work itself out. (I know, the laziness and ignorance 🤦🏽♀️ 😂). Thank you for watching 🫶🏼
This was so good. I try a lot of products, but went back to my initial routine. What are your thoughts on no oils, no butters? Doesn’t work for me personally
So I do minimal oils because there was this one oil, Africa’s Best Ultimate Oil (in the video, I mistaken it for African Pride) that stripped my hair. So now I do light hair oil. I haven’t tried any butters though🤔 Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
I'm old school all day because the newbies be too expensive and I don’t believe anyone should pay between 10 and 25 dollars for one hair product alone. Expensive does not always mean its better. The reasonably cheaply priced old school products still work just fine, I would even argue that they're better than the newbies. But that's just my personal opinion. I stick with my good ol Blue Magic hair grease or Wonder Gro and I'm good. Hair grease and water works just fine for me.

@@tashajones3661 Cantu was good in 2013. I mixed it with ultra Sheen for ultimate hydration on my daughter's hair. I went back to blue magic grease Earlier this year and my hair grew 2 inches thicker at the roots. That's the only way I realized my hair was kinda thin or thinning out from using various products.
I started following COMESTIC CHEMISTS/CHEMIST and I suggest everyone does the same. Switch from natural hair “influencers” to chemist. I say this because all the new “black hair” products that are produced just causes others to spend more money. Truthfully you do not need a pre-poo, deep conditioner (which is the same as a regular conditioner), hair masks, etc… after learning the science and structure behind the hair it just makes sense. Everything else is a trend a money grab which is why most things don’t really work.
That is smart to get reviews and/or info on hair products from scientist rather than marketers (influencers). I do believe that newer hair products are selling more of an aesthetic rather than quality products that work. Thank you for sharing and watching 🫶🏼

Following Jesus changes you even if you don't realize it. You'll stop desiring what your flesh wants and you'll start desiring everything your spirit wants. Even if it's hard at first, He'll make it easier until you're at the point where you don't need that thing or identity anymore. Matthew 7:7-8 - “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Jesus loves you. God Bless.

AB's products are very cost friendly and are filled with ingredients that are quite beneficial to natural hair as well as the scalp: shea butter, coconut oil, egg protein, wheat germ, etc.
Believe me, I have retained much length and have had zero flaky, itchy scalp using Africa's Best haircare products! 😃
TCB was my boo grease!
I recently tried some hydration line, a naturale rose and some oil from a popular mobile braider and my hair was growing. I have a protective style, some crochets, and just leave it alone for a couple months. The majority of us with 4c hair have never had the opportunity for someone to literally show how and everything else with it. Now its❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, I think I’m in that phase where I’m trying to figure out what works. Thank you for supporting this channel 🫶🏽
You look like B Simone, so gorgeous 😍
Thank you 😊 for the compliment and I appreciate your support 🫶🏽
I’ve been natural since 2018 and I went back to using pink lotion in 2021 it doesn’t work for my hair. It only worked with my relaxed hair. Blue magic is still my go to
my mom and sister used to make me grease they scalp🤣
Not “make me” 🤣🤣 Ngl I miss these days… Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
If you do use Blue Magic don’t try to get a silk press. The beautician will be so mad trying to wash it out to straighten it 😂
And we do not want to piss them off🤣🤣 Thank you for watching🫶🏼
This happened to me recently 🤣 you wouldn’t believe this.. It didn’t come out right and she told me to come back to the salon the next day and she would do it over using a clarifying shampoo all for free. She was a woman of her word, I came back and it turned out great 👍🏾
My scalp back then did not like those products and STILL doesn’t. My scalp flaked up SO bad putting ts on it 😂. Thank God for growth… literally 😭
Amen🤣🤣 Thank you for watching🫶🏼
This video popped up right on time!
I think it’s safe to say this summer had a lot of us questioning our current hair care products🤣 Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
@@MarriedToPurpose SERIOUSLY THOUGH! It’s my first time wearing my hair straight since 2016…when I first stopped getting relaxers lol! I’ve been trying to figure out how to take care of my hair in general all week because I don’t wanna wear protective styles for a while!
This! And then when we wear our hair no matter what it gets dried out as soon as the sun get to it😭 I’m trying to figure stuff out too🤣
I went back to S Curl no drip moisturiser and it made my hair very soft and moisturised for 4 days. My hair is very dry and low porosity so this has worked for me and I will keep using it.
Thanks for sharing, sometimes we have to go with what works. I appreciate you for supporting this channel🫶🏼
I definitely still grease my scalp and use pink moisturizer
See I shouldn’t have never stopped, I had gotten lazy over the years 🤣🤦🏽♀️ Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
@@MarriedToPurpose I had my lazy and experiment moments lol, but I’m always brought back to what I’m use to. I enjoyed your content, thank you for sharing. Watching from NYC 💜
A lot of the old school products have some questionable ingredients that are also in relaxers and are linked to fibroids. With blk women have the highest cases, I’m sure there is a connection
I was not aware of this 🤔 Thank you for sharing and watching 🫶🏽
I went back to blue magic grease green and blue, sulfur 8, glover mane. I mix them together. I use to put dr. Miracle and baby don't go bald on my head. I hair was past my bra stap while wearing sew- ins
I just bought me some blue magic blue grease and already see a difference. Thank you for watching 🫶🏼
I'm definitely going back too old school products they always worked for me the new products all way to expensive for me😡😡
Exactly!! Spend all that money just to have to use double the amount… Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
I went back to hair grease
So my daughter is 5 her came out from a ringworm she had in school trying bring her hair back so try old school products
I’m sorry she had to go through that 😢 I did look up some products and I seen Sulfur 8 had a kids line so that way it won’t be too strong for her & thank you for watching 🫶🏽
@@MarriedToPurpose thankyou I had some I have to purchase some more and some other ones like wild growth does wonders its another product called baby don't go bald it's good
I just use design essentials for shampoo, deep conditioner, that moisture stuff and oil. And leave my hair in braids for a good week and move on. I miss blue magic and couldn't find it here.
Yes, it was a point where I just kept putting my hair in twists and still doing my hair care routine and that really helped me…Also Amazon have a lot of the Blue Magic products. Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
The trend now seems to be all these different "OILS" to put throughout the hair and scalp
What the name of the hair mayonnaise u use in the video and what the name of the hair oil u use
So the hair mayonnaise is by Ors, I think I linked in the description, and the hair oil is African Pride Olive and Tea tree oil.
I haven’t tried any butters though🤔
Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
I'm old school all day because the newbies be too expensive and I don’t believe anyone should pay between 10 and 25 dollars for one hair product alone. Expensive does not always mean its better.
The reasonably cheaply priced old school products still work just fine, I would even argue that they're better than the newbies. But that's just my personal opinion.
I stick with my good ol Blue Magic hair grease or Wonder Gro and I'm good.
Hair grease and water works just fine for me.
Listen when I tell you I went back to everything my momma used to used now my hair from the 2000's I SUFFER from DRYNESS AND BREAKAGE iw ent back to used the oils the grease ALL OF IT. I am tied of all the new naturals and their ways of shaming you for using the old school methods that has kept my hair long and heathy for ever so long! All this new stuff has nothing but chemicals in it and once looser textured demographics of people get a hold of our hair care the FORUMLA CHANGES meanwhile the stuff that I have been using WORKS!!!!!!!! Blue magic African pride Mane n tail hair mayo ALL OF IT WORKSSSS FOR MEEEEEE
Kuza indian hemp grease
This was my first time hearing about this product, so I looked it up and it definitely has good reviews (and it’s affordable😊). Thank you for watching 🫶🏼
I love Mielle. Buy straight from their site. Rather than 3rd parties.
I just went on their website &I do see the price difference and the bundle deals. Amazon and the rest of them been playing us🤣🤣 Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
I personally do not have fond memories of old school products. They were cheaper though which was nice.
The price point was and is definitely a selling point (corny word play intended 🤭) Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
Ye I still use pink moisturizer 😂
The tried and true🤣
I got 2 bottles of BB oil moisturizer under my sink. It’s terrible now. It dragged on my hair. Just oily junk.
Sulfur 8 .I don’t have dandruff.I like the way my scalp feels especially after washing 😁
I definitely remember seeing sulfur 8 in the bathroom cabinet growing up should’ve stuck with it lbvs Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
What product do u use to grow your hair
So I can honestly say, what has really grown my hair out was doing rice water. Other than that everything else is to keep it moisturized. I have been using Ors Rice water daily lotion, the orange conditioner, and I forgot to mention in the other comment, there is a rice water oil I use for when I don’t want to walk around with wet hair that I linked in the description. Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
@@MarriedToPurpose thank you so much may god bless u
And may you share in the blessings
@@MarriedToPurpose amen
So Im late....Cantu was cancelled?!?! Why?
See you seem just as surprised as I was🤣 So apparently they were never black owned just marketed towards us and some says it dries out our hair, however, it was one of those products that worked. Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
@@MarriedToPurpose Yes, I'm surprised! 🤣Thanks for putting me on! 🙌🏾❤️
I'm scared of Cantu I see so many bad reviews and I can't afford a set back right now my hair is finally back at armpit length.
@@tashajones3661 Cantu was good in 2013. I mixed it with ultra Sheen for ultimate hydration on my daughter's hair. I tried to use it again, about 2-3 years ago, and it didn't penetrate and dried up sperm on a man's shorts. 😅 I never went back. I went back to blue magic grease Earlier this year and my hair grew 2 inches thicker at the roots. That's the only way I realized my hair was kinda thin or thinning out from using various products.
Can’t take you serious if your wearing a wig😂😂
Look at her other videos.
Stop using that rice wet and you will see more results but I agree with everything else you are doing with your hair and the old school products
For me the rice water really works, it’s just the smell😅 but I have heard that castor oil works just as good. Thank you for watching 🫶🏼
I stopped following all the natural trends and use african pride again... theyre cocunut line has me hydrated.... i use blue magic or shea butter to seal, oil on my scalp and ends.... my hair is the longest and thickest its ever been... i get questions everywhere i go
And see I miss my thick hair😢 Thank you for watching 🫶🏽
I think its the chemical in those older products that was the problem.
It's still the same thing they use now or even worse
Following Jesus changes you even if you don't realize it. You'll stop desiring what your flesh wants and you'll start desiring everything your spirit wants. Even if it's hard at first, He'll make it easier until you're at the point where you don't need that thing or identity anymore. Matthew 7:7-8 - “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Jesus loves you. God Bless.
