As a young girl growing up in a higher class family, I can understand why OP in the first story sought out such toxic men in her life. Firstly, she was trying to placate her parents with basically as arranged marriage. My own parents tried doing the same and I felt completely obligated, like it was my duty, because I was raised to BE a wife, mother and role model to future children. To always be pretty, soft spoken, care taker of the house, always in good image. I flat out rebeled. I ended up engaged to a high-school drop out, thinking I could make him into someone my parents would approve of. Luckily, we didn't end it because he cheated, we ended it because no matter what I did to try and help, he wouldn't ever do it. Help him with his resume and set him up with an interview? He didn't show up. I even cried for him to get his GED. At the end of the day, I ended up realizing I was wasting my energy bettering a man that obviously didn't want to better himself so why couldn't I better MYSELF instead? Dumped him, left the state, ended up working at the LA treasury and met my now husband in Baton Rouge. He's a complete IT nerd and makes me laugh everyday. We may not be as well off as my family and even have struggling times but, I don't think I would do anything differently. Just basically remember: OP was raised basically being told she was to be the perfect wife, mother, care taker of the house, etc for whomever her parents deemed fit. It's hard to break away and realize you were doing everything to please your parents when you should've focused on your own happiness the entire time.
Last story, it was a serious challenge to keep my eyes from rolling after the 20th 'my man,' just give him a freaking name! It's not just the repetition, but the title in general makes me cringe. I feel the same way about 'my old lady,' 'my queen/king.' *barf*
Myeah why be friends with backstabbers or date them? What a weird dynamic, it does sound like she sees him as a possession and he has money because love doesn't seem involved at all.
Story 1. How big of a disgusting thing if a Mother can you be to tell your own daughter tonstay with the fiance while knowing he was cheating on her own daughter. The only thing i can come up with is that OPs own mothers husband is also doing it. And that is why she is okej with it. Want to puke from how disgusting that thing is....
first story: if one of your criteria for a perfect SO is their wealth, your a gold digger and I see that as a red flag. it often bothers me when I hear something like what OP stated in the opening regardless of culture. OP seems like something of a toxic person.
But if you look at her parents it's not her fault. It's clear her parents vaule wealth and status so she was Likley raised to see things that way as well
On the story about your best friend sneaking your boyfriend for not the first time but the second time trying to sneak her boyfriend beat her f****** ass tell her breaks both Wheels then picture out the window don't ever come around me again

All these Redditors have the same writing style. Also, has anyone else not found these stories on the site?
People should take psych evals and personality tests before being able to raise children. Would reduce child abuse and neglect instantly

BOTH sides on that story honestly are, to be honest. Neither side also truly bettered themselves.
