Hi -Yeah I know - that's the TV transmission date.. (BTW .. Not to be morbid but I booked The Tubby Hayes Quartet in Liverpool not long before he went in for his heart op.. He was playing superbly, and the only way you would know that he wasn't 100% fit was that he needed a chair to sit on while Mike Pyne, Ron Mathewson, or Tony Levin did a bit. He was a wonderful player and really nice guy.. I only got this clip a few days ago and i wanted to get it up on YT... Johnny Griffin was on the same gig and I had hoped that there was more video (I put the griffin number up too). But so far no luck.
Wow.....never heard tubby in the altissimo.what a brilliant player
Thanks for this Bob
When are you gonna give me a call?
It can't be 1974. He sadly passed away in 1973.
