Kind of Blue is my favourite record. Blue in Green is my favourite tune ever recorded. Bill Evans was an absolute beast of a songwriter and kudos to Miles. Very interesting take on the song. Rhodes sounded great too.
@@juliettebobcat704 I saw Julian lage this summer and he blew my mind. I'm not a huge jazz head. i have about 20,000 hours of listening to Kind of Blue. It was on repeat when i studied in about 15 years of university. i know every single note of every instrument. i can also recite the dialogue of revenge of the nerds from beginning to end. Ed Bickert was a Bill Evans on guitar. Traditional Jazz and awesome voicings. Pure Desmond is a Paul Desmond record that Paul said was just as much an Ed Bickert record.
Omg Omfg I've just searched the net for ages seeing if someone did a modern take on this amazing track, as I thought I would, but this is perfection no point me even trying lol. It's as good as it gets.
I'm a hard core jazz guy - bebop, grew up living near Tal Farlow and listened to him play at a nearby club a gazzilion times, correyell played nearby and he was a hero of mine - so in following tradition - wow, can this kid play... to quote Ali G. --- "respek!"
Currently 56 people hit the dislike button?! That's probably cause they were either deaf, blind, blurred by tears or so upset that they were trembling and missed. OMG gentlemen, that is so good, so much emotion and perfection at the same time, just unbelievable... That solo, Martin, just beautiful! You're my new idol, picking up where the great Allan left off. Chapeau!
Glad you voted yourself the arbiter of quality. Pretty funny. Talented band and very talented players. But I don’t like the clip at all. Just taste. It’s not pretty to my hearing. I guess i am a jazz deplorable?? Now I feel bad.
I can't believe how the tiniest little things in music can sound so incredible, like the bass @ 2:17-2:18 it's 2 notes but fuck it sounds unbelievable,it's my favorite part of this whole song.If anyone else gets me,leave a like!
I think they are all brilliant, but for me it’s when Martin kicks into his solo progression… it’s unmatched, pure perfection. I think he’s one of the best guitarists in the world at the moment.
Seems to be not the first one to comment and mentioning, of course Bill Evans (as Co-)Wrighter. May Miles & Bill always have fine jams - wherever- and rest in peace 🎺 🎹…Thanks Martin&Band for this wonderful interpretation ✌🏽
I just stumbled onto this from you and the boys. I can’t stop listening to it, just out of bounds! I always loved this song, not really Mile’s version, but one of the smooth jazz guys did a version of this and always loved it. Like you do with most of your recordings, you have taken this to a whole other level! Thank you for enjoyment you guys bing me with your passion and talent!
_"We're not sorry"_ You don't need to be. That was an *_amazing_* reinterpretation of the classic _Blue in Green._ I kinda think Bill Evans would approve (Miles too 😉). Greetings from Belgium!
I don’t like this as an interpretation of Blue in Green, but as its own song, the playing is phenomenal. 4:40-5:03 in particular was just so skillful and excellently done
- (Pfff, tremendous ... when music is felt in the soul it is transmitted almost by inertia. Keep in that way! Greetings from Argentina !! )
Incredible performance , Martin. Amazing technique. Incredible note selection ,and spot on in the pocket. As usual, makes me want to quit playing guitar after 40 years of playing. ;)
We need another jam on this, same guys, but throw in a couple or horns, a flute, bagpipes...whatever. Just let me listen to this bass line for hours, and dance the night away...
definitelly one of the best version of blue in green , so free , so just so different and still so aligned , chapeau guys, , brilliant ( somehow dissapointing si few people saw it) , by the way would be really flabergasted to see you review "tha's all" you way , this would be change , a first , an experience , keep up !!!
beautiful, as always when someone decides to play blue in green. just a thing, jazz album were made by the band, not only arranged by the band. so it is so weird reading by miles davis since we all know blue in green was made by bill evans on piano explaining the new kind of project they could make to mister miles davis
written by bill evans :)
yes sir.
Evanses rulz. Excepting me...
Facts
AND Bill Evans
The great Bill!
Man, what's this?! Too beautiful for my soul! STOP IT!

Breathing new life into an old classic. Captivating musicianship all around.
A ROCKIFIED INTERPRETATION of this beautiful ballad. One Of A Kind: MILES DAVIS ! ! !
I hear a little Dimeola...a little Gilmour....I’m absolutely BLOWN away by Miller’s playing....
the keyboardist is A++

Absolutely Excellent! The entire band and crew! Stunning performance, production and spirit! I am inspired.

That was fantastic! Perfect modern take on the classic tune.

The former UZEB 3 piece band from Canada did a hauntingly emotionally moving live version of this song. It's available to view on RUclips.

Love it! It's in the mood of Stevie Vai's "Tender Surrender", similar sound-set and structure. Very good drummer!

What a solo!! So tasty! 👌
Damn son. You have some amazing chops.

Perfect. Best sound.
Real good Bass Player.
Rik Emmett recorded a song Out of The Blue in 1992 that has some very similar moments with Martins solo.
