Former Afghan leader Daoud Khan, a man credited with turning Afghanistan into a democracy, was killed more than three decades ago in a Soviet-backed coup.
Now, 31 years after his death, Afghanistan has honoured the country's first president with a state funeral, a year after his remains were found.
Al Jazeera's James Bays reports on the ceremony for the former leader, the last to preside over an era of peace and stability in the country.
