I have been reevaluating my hobby lately and really thinking over the things I buy for my dolls and really what makes me happy. I had this completionist vision in mind which may work with playline dolls, but not when you have to scale up the budget to BJDs. I realized that so many of the clothes I accumulated for them, while I really like them, don't bring me enough joy to hold for a future where I have the display space. It is so easy to accumulate all the clothes since they are limited artist releases that don’t get remade. Along the same vein, I realized that I don’t use spare resin parts as much as I would like. If I had all the time in the world, I’d think of poses for all the hands, but I move at the pace of molasses. I have hoarded all these parts and clothes like a dragon’s hoard. Since I only spend time with them every 2 weeks, it’ll be slow going, but I’ll slowly be listing clothes and pieces that I don’t think have a permanent place with me.
