I was 14 in 1984, kiddo! I enthusiastically watched Live Aid the following year! Our microwave broke a couple weeks ago. We were without one for about a week and a half. I had to show my teens that you can actually heat up leftovers on the stove or in the oven. It was hysterical!
This is when they were built to last . Ahh the nostalgia. This brings me way back to when I was a kid going camping in a vintage pop up camper with family at the lake. It was like a special event. Now I’m an adult and it sucks lol
lol -- it was a lot better when someone else did all the work, right? That's why I just visit my parents on the lake when I want to swim in a pool or cruise on a boat. All the fun. None of the heavy lifting :)
Microwaves were brand new in general in 1984 lol. So it’s not surprising that one isn’t there. If you were cooking it was in the oven or on the stove in 1984 😃😃
I was negative 2 years old. Amazing time capsule. My biggest takeaway is that very little has changed in design hahahahaha I would totally rock this thing. But the Arizona summer would kill it in 6 months. 😞
I was 9 in 1984. I love the decor. Depending on what model this is they may have put in the cabinets above the driver's compartment aftermarket unless they wanted to use the windows on the outside to illuminate the cabinets? Carpets in the bathroom? Hello moldfest.
I actually like vintage campers...brings back good memories.😁 I would like to find a vintage one like this as long as they meet the criteria: No leaks, all electronics and plumbing work, and non smoker (at the right price). The dated or even "scratch n dent" interior I'm ok with....It's in my skill level to spruce up the cabinets and even put in new cushions and fabric.😁
It's like a time machine. Have you ever done a video on the history of Haylett RV. I would love to see some old photos of the dealership over the years.
That makes you 2 years older than me! Ha! Yes I share birthdays with LeBron James and Tiger Woods...I guess I should've been into sports... You'd of heard of me! haha We had an 80's Dodge camper with more sleeping space, more orange and a window in the rear bath facing back and came with a American flag suction cupped to it and read "God Bless America". When a tree fell on it yes I took the flag to put in my camper! It's the smell that means more because it really brings you back.
I was so waiting for bonus footage at the end with Josh wearing a log haired wig and plaid shirt sitting in the driver's seat singing some kind of early 80's rock song.
@@JoshtheRVNerd I can't say that I had a "go to" song, but, since my family only listened to C&W, anything by Johnny Cash or Kenny Rogers or Dolly Pardon (I could keep going) would work.
First ... Let's just say I could have been your Dad when this unit was new. That being said, I'm familiar with this model. If this isn't sold by the time I finish with closing on a new property, I'll come check it out. I'm going under the assumption that it's seen it's life in the North. So, I'll refrain from just calling and buying sight unseen. :) As always, greatly appreciate the videos Josh.
If it looks that good on the inside, I bet the frame and structure is probably pretty clean too. Not many leaks or dings. I guess the engine is also in decent condition for being nearly 40 years old.
@@mrjack8849 I have a 1985 in beautiful shape. Only thing is it needs someone who knows how to get it to run. It will turn over but that is as far as we have gotten it to go.
I was 6 years old. That gem is a diamond shining in a goat's ass. That Ford E350XL chassis likely has a 460 Windsor engine. I would officially call that a "shaggin' wagon"
I'm not convinced you were never an rv nerd. I'm betting when you were born you were like " coming out at 7 lbs 5 oz a brand new stroller towable Josh Winters....."
Ok, Josh- I've been watching for a bit and researching 5th wheels to check out the Country for a bit (perhaps a few years). Per your recommendations, we've narrowed down to the Jayco Pinnacle 36FBTS, Northpoint 382FLRB and the Montana 3761FL or 3931FB. Is there any others that we should be looking at- we simply want to get the biggest bang for the buck and good quality. Hope to be making the trek a couple of hours due North to see you in the near future. Thanks for the videos- they are very helpful.
Man.... that's a tough one. It's like asking me which of my kids I love the best. I love that North Point since the redesign, but we do have some screaming deals on that layout in a Pinnacle currently you can see at www.haylettautoandrv.com/inv/2020-Jayco-Pinnacle-36FBTS-Coldwater-S1756/ I haven't been able to see the Montana Front Bath since the redesign that phased out the soaking tub. I was bummed to see that go.
I think I had a pair of Sears Toughskin jeans the same color of that couch back in the 70s,😆. But for a 36 year old coach, that is in great condition. Just curious how many takes this video took because I hear the struggle to control the laughter .
Hey Josh! I love your video and I just found another exactly beauty like this one with 68k miles and runs smoothly… Would you recommend me to take it? Thanks and all my support!
WOW that is such a cool RV, and in such good shape for an 84.
I *know* it's crazy!
Love these older motor homes. So much more cozy and cute and fun than what's made these days.
You tend to like small and classic campers, don't you? :)
Classic! Rockwood has a place in my heart, even the old stuff!
We now own this one since 3/22. Its so fun!

Wow! The fact that this thing is not completely trashed is amazing. A true time capsule. It’s probably a 460 (7.5L) under the hood.

Great idea!

If any of those appliances still work I wouldn’t be that surprised. Looks like the owners may have babied this thing.
I miss those colors. Reminds me of the couch in my dads old trailer. About the same but missing the green and yellow.

It's like a time machine. Have you ever done a video on the history of Haylett RV. I would love to see some old photos of the dealership over the years.
If I had good photos and footage I totally would. Sadly, there's very little historical records of the place around
