Like Sumni said before, this song feel really raw. But it’s my kind of favorite song. Really admired that she finally released this song because it’s deeply personal : how she used to suffer but kept pretending that everything was okay. Even admitted she was taking Xanax, this may seem overdone to say in the western music industry but in Korea where mental illness are still taboo especially among idol that have to keep the perfect image, it’s really inspiring. This mature, dark yet sexy concept is everything I would hope to see even more in future song. The visuals are very classy and give this high fashion vibe I love. Moreover I was surprised this song is in English but il really suit the meaning of the song with her sultry voice, and the choreography feel almost contemporary (and seems difficult to achieve in live so really exciting to see it).

"I'm trying to be a good girl, didn't mean to fake it." This is so relatable and real... We are proud of you for you sunmi! You are so strong for even releasing this. We love you
So many people set up ridiculous unrealistic standards for "good girl/women" (as opposed to "bad" girls, "disrespectful" girls, "sluts" etc.). Being the eldest daughter of an Asian family is literally a struggle in itself. Sunmi, the eldest, has worked her ass off in the music industry since she was a minor. She had to deal with pervs, weirdos, and haters all together, trying to act tough for her image not to be tainted. She's a blessing for her family (giving them a sense of pride bc their little girl grew to be a successful and well-loved artist) as well as fans whom she inspired dearly and to those random people who are touched by this side of her, a vulnerable one. Thank you Sunmi for sharing your story that most, if not all, of us can relate to. It really pains me that you went through such horrid things but you carried yourself so well that it seems we didn't have to worry much about you. Stay beautiful!
@@wonhoscake1214 she became an idol specifically to support her brothers since their father was very ill and unable to work, it makes me so happy to see her so successful and able to provide for them even as adults!
Being the eldest child in a family is already difficult enough, at a young age her father got really ill and they face financial difficulties. She quickly became the sole breadwinner and had to find a way to make a lot of money fast to afford her father's treatment. The young her decided to become a celebrity because she thought that was the only way, she trained hard and at last had the chance to debut in Wonder Girls, unfortunately her father passed away 3 months before he could see her debut. She faced so much criticism from people always pointing out her flaws and always telling her what to do at a young age but she had to bite her tongue and keep quite because she has to take care of her little brothers. Till today she still faces harsh criticism and every move she make is closely watch by people just waiting for her to make a little mistake to leave her hateful and degrading words. She has gone through so much, this song and video clearly depicts the struggles she had to endure from a young age and how it has already affected her. She mentioned many times how hard it is for her to share her struggles but she trust her fans enough that she had the courage to share this song and show her vulnerability. Hopefully this song can help others find comfort because she always mentioned that she hopes her songs can help people feel less lonely and find comfort.
Thank you for sharing her story with all of us . I had no idea she faced so much in her life.Sunmi has been one of my most favourite kpop idols and she is truly gifted.
Lots of comments, only a few knows that it’s her mental health she’s talking about. My mother is Borderline, and that video, lyrics and choreography explains EVERY SYMPTOM they suffer on a daily basis, even the cutting veins-suicidal part. You’re strong girl, stronger know for acknowledging it and accepting it. My love for you, you’re never alone
I think the lyrics and the video itself describes what the song is about . I highly doubt that anyone is unaware about what the song is actually about.
I have bpd myself and this sounds like our official anthem. But bpd shares a lot of symptoms with ptsd , bipolar, depression n anxiety. So we can all cry together with this song.
@@marianaortiz4515 Borderline, the word isn't only used when talking about bpd. She has depression and has been very open about it and has recently discussed how she's reducing her medications for it etc because she's in a better place. It's a song so you can interpret it in any way but she hasn't said she suffers with bpd and just because the song can relate to those who do suffer from it doesn't mean we should assume the artist does
"I shouldn't have said that because I'm a good girl " - I think many of us can relate to that , the society is judgemental towards girls , how we are supposed to act , how we are supposed to talk or even react to something . Borderline , I think is the line , the one which "supposed good girls " cross after the society drives them crazy.
This is about her own personal struggle not a broad example. We can all relate to her pain. I am surprised she released a version because its so personal
I love how Sunmi shows her "darker" and deeper, also her vulnerable side in many of her videos and in her music. I think this is what makes it so strong. Of course i don't know her, but it always feels real and personal. I think she is really brave to put out such a song and I am really proud of her, the video is also a perfect representation - minimalistic yet so emotional and expressive. Also, i really hope she has good people around her, so she is not alone with her dark thoughts. Love you Sunmi, no matter how dark you get, you brighten my day
i cry so much to this song because i have bpd and these words hit even harder after sunmi revealed that she was diagnosed with it as well. now when i feel alone i’ll just think about her and remember that there’s somebody who’s feeling just like me
I see all of your words and feelings.Everything will be good ,trust me.We just need a little time and you should know you’re not alone ,take care 🤝✊🏻🙌🏻
Same here. I honestly cried the first time I watched this video. Having a public figure express her feelings and struggles about this disorder feels kinda surreal to me. I do feel that BDP is heavy stigmatized, so having her not only being honest about her diagnosis but also putting out a music video so endearing and real is enough to make me sob. I don't know if Sunmi will ever read this, but thank you. Your music and art makes me feel safe.
I have BPD. I survived. Sunmi survived. So will those of us who have it. I have never cried so much in my life, this song hit me deep. It hit me that deep.
As someone who struggles with mental health it feels comforting when popular artists sing about it. It's so brave and makes them more human and easier to connect to. Respect to Sunmi and her dancing is so beautiful here ❤

Listening to her song gives me confidence and strength to not be afraid to show my pain and my scars. I'm proud of me for living everyday and I'm proud of every single of you that passes through the same kind off thing.
What changed her mind to release this? Didn’t she mention in an interview before how this song was so personal to her she just couldn’t release it? Or was that a different song? Either way, I’m glad.
I don't know, it's been a year so things change and she's spoken about reducing her medications and being in a happier mind frame now aswell as treating her body well so I guess it finally felt right for her to release this and let that weight come off of her
"Feels like a bird is living in my head Please don't piss me off, oh no I shouldn't have said that Because I'm a good girl Don't spill it out" wow. one of my biggest fears as a pwBPD is that one day I'll say too much, get too emotional, and suddenly I'll be alone again. one of the hardest parts of bpd for me is that fear that you'll lose control of yourself and scare people away. that combined with the guilt of knowing you hurt someone can make it so that sometimes i feel like the only way to keep everyone safe is to create a character to play, someone who's always happy and never gets upset.
My doctors think I have BPD, and though I still need a formal diagnosis from a specialist I do know that I have struggled with BPD symptoms my whole life. I have been listening to Wonder Girls since I was nine years old. They introduced me to kpop. I am twenty two now. When I read that Sunmi opened up about this, I broke out in gasping tears. She is the first celebrity EVER, east or west, that I have heard be open about this. I am so deeply moved and so speechless. Admitting you have BPD when the stigma is deadly is the bravest thing possible. I love you Sunmi. Always have, always will. God bless you.

I'm so proud of her, writing and composing her music herself. I can't wait for a full album!!!!! This song is stunning and I love how raw it is, showing more than just happiness. Humans feel sadness, happiness and we get hurt and suffer mentally just as we do physically and I'm loving how open artists are being about these things, showing their human side instead of the glorified, famous celebrity thing the media pushes to hide these things and make us feel bad for not being manufactured. I'm glad she's at a point where she's happier and is able to reduce her medications and has decided to release this song. We need more people talking about medication for mental illnesses, the stigma around it is so silly, it helps. We are all different and some need medicine, we take medicine for our physical illnesses so why should we feel ashamed to take it for our mental illnesses? The brain is the most important part of our bodies and we need it to be healthy to live and not only to survive but to thrive. Stan Sunmi for clear skin and stream her entire discography because this gorgeous young lady only serves us bops, and that's on what? Period. (Not to mention how beautiful she looks in this MV, I like the choreo and the styling, it matches the song. I appreciate how she went simple for this so it's all focused on the song itself rather than a load of visuals. I like the use of just 2 female dancers aswell. Perfection if you ask me, she's perfection) This is my favourite song that she's ever released. I wish it was atleast 50 years long. Gorgeous! 이 선미/미야 & 미야네 화이팅!! ♥

True, i'm so proud of her
louise and she buys her brothers what they want, like she bought her youngest brother a pc set. I’m jealous of their genes smh

Hopefully this song can help others find comfort because she always mentioned that she hopes her songs can help people feel less lonely and find comfort.
ty for ur comment, i had no idea she went thru all that and now the song makes much more sense for her pov, shes so strong
She is amazing and I will immediately stop bit*hing about my own life...

So we can all cry together with this song.
i have bpd and can confirm that this song definitely sounds like it might be about it
@@marianaortiz4515 Borderline, the word isn't only used when talking about bpd. She has depression and has been very open about it and has recently discussed how she's reducing her medications for it etc because she's in a better place. It's a song so you can interpret it in any way but she hasn't said she suffers with bpd and just because the song can relate to those who do suffer from it doesn't mean we should assume the artist does
Is this song about mental health in general or specifically Borderline personality disorder
이른 새벽 생각나서 찾아듣게되는 노래,
"I shouldn't have said that because I'm a good girl " - I think many of us can relate to that , the society is judgemental towards girls , how we are supposed to act , how we are supposed to talk or even react to something . Borderline , I think is the line , the one which "supposed good girls " cross after the society drives them crazy.
completely agree
ruclips.net/video/SiqUWhrzvCo/видео.html we all can relate
Its about mental health, she has borderline.
This is about her own personal struggle not a broad example. We can all relate to her pain. I am surprised she released a version because its so personal
@@theEpicpond Did she say that anywhere? I have Borderline too and would like to know if it's true.

Love you Sunmi, no matter how dark you get, you brighten my day
She NEVER disappoints. Name one bad song by her.. exactly, it doesn't exist
i cry so much to this song because i have bpd and these words hit even harder after sunmi revealed that she was diagnosed with it as well. now when i feel alone i’ll just think about her and remember that there’s somebody who’s feeling just like me
I see all of your words and feelings.Everything will be good ,trust me.We just need a little time and you should know you’re not alone ,take care 🤝✊🏻🙌🏻
Same here. I honestly cried the first time I watched this video. Having a public figure express her feelings and struggles about this disorder feels kinda surreal to me. I do feel that BDP is heavy stigmatized, so having her not only being honest about her diagnosis but also putting out a music video so endearing and real is enough to make me sob. wow. one of my biggest fears as a pwBPD is that one day I'll say too much, get too emotional, and suddenly I'll be alone again. one of the hardest parts of bpd for me is that fear that you'll lose control of yourself and scare people away. that combined with the guilt of knowing you hurt someone can make it so that sometimes i feel like the only way to keep everyone safe is to create a character to play, someone who's always happy and never gets upset.

Perfection if you ask me, she's perfection)
This is my favourite song that she's ever released. I wish it was atleast 50 years long. Gorgeous!

It's a perfect... Shape, emotional, drama... Psychological state of a person when star being visible...
I have ptsd ... I realized how similar the fear I felt in this song was
I listened to this song a few months ago, I loved the song but I thought she was using the 'concept' of a Bordeline personality, since that seems to be a thing in Kpop, but to know that it is actually a personal song about her mental disorder; I'm so proud of Sunmi for speaking about it especially in an industry where Mental Health is still a Stigma and almost a sin to speak about it when we all go through it and mental health is as important as doing a check at the doctors, but still people don't know. I'm very smiley person and I have depression, but people wouldn't know if I don't tell them.

She's a great and very talented artist. Love her ❤️
I suffer anxiety and depression. Listening this song and releasing my queen is suffering the same makes me feel a little bit "normal". Did someone agree with me? Sometimes we feel like the weirdos and want to be like other people, and then you hear your favorite singer saying this. I love this song till the first day I listened. And I hope she, and everyone suffering the same, feels better one day. Thank you, queen💕 You drop this 👑
I completely agree with you. It's hard to be understood by other people. I feel like only people who suffered from depression can deeply understand you.
Yeah i totally agree with you.. I really hope everyone who feels this way can have a better day at least for once ♡
Realizing you are not alone makes it a little easier❤️
Len Doherty Iam pretty sure every idol has such problems. This industry is extremly toxic
