I definitely think you should do an overnighter there. I could spend all day and then some there exploring. What a very cool place. thanks for taking me a long. Also thank you for teaching me something new about the Manchineel tree.
I think I remember playing there as a child. My family would hunt iguanas there if I'm not mistaken. There were lots of stories my older cousins would tell us little ones about Douens and La Jahbless living in the forest. We never stayed too late.
I suppose I should've waited until the end before commenting the first time. Enjoyed the video! I enjoy the exploration of abandoned places. Not always scary places though
Hey Camryn, like they told me at school'must Try harder" . Yre right i could have gone into more of the islands History and now you have mentioned it i shall on my next visit, an overnighter i hope. I do appreciate you taking the time to comment. Thanks for coming by. Peace.
Good video scout! Good to get that kind of information out. Learned of that nasty tree a couple years ago when we went to the Everglades, until then I've never heard of it. But it left a good impression on me. Thought of ya last week when the Irma storm rolled through. Hope ya faired ok
Great trip, very glad you took me along. I wonder how many deaths that tree has claimed, to have them blame the Leprosy colony.. maybe the big piece of metal was the slide feed for crematory?
Great American Survival Hey Brother, glad ya came by. Not sure about the metal machine,I was guessing at the area, I believe it was the infirmary, so unlikely near that. I'll do more research.peace.
Very creep place for sure! That tree sounds pretty wicked too. Definitely one of those places that if you were found there after dark you might not be found there in the morning. lol Any idea why it is no longer inhabited? Thanks for sharing!
Simone Figeroux Hi Simone.Thankyou for taking the time to comment. It's dry season now so you'll likely be able to see more of the structures back from the shore. This place has so much history and much more than I could cover here, nit does fascinate me, I go as much as I can. I love the south too, to me it's so different to the north it's like a different country, and of course the doubles are far better 🙂.peace.

shovelhead8 ooh, I like those. The .38 or the .45 model you think🙂. There's a stainless 5 shot 38 that I think would be perfect for these jaunts.i forget who makes um. Glad ya came by.peace
The .455 model would be the one for me. Lots of old school British class. Over the top, boys and all that. I buddy of mine had the ultimate one, which I handled, but did not shoot, a Webley-Fosbury Automatic Revolver, in .455. Not practical, but big time cool factor at the time.Thank you for the reply, Mark
shovelhead8 I'm familiar with it. The Fosbury self cocking revolver I know it as, the whole cylinder and barrel slides back on the grip fame. Ya can't say they weren't thinking outside the box eh? Crazy bastards😊.that would be a valuable collectors piece now.
That they are. With a bunch of DePrideau speed loaders on a chain around your neck you would be set. For reliability, I think I would stay with a stock double action. Thank you for the reply, Mark
Extreme urbex. If you can walk around the Thanet towns at night, a haunted island is a doddle, lol. Hospitals over here call the morgue Rose Cottage so as not to upset people when calling for a collection ( I found this out when me and the missus were house hunting and she discounted any house with that name ( she is a nurse ). Was that your yacht? Do you dare do an overnighter??
@@Scoutforlife Chacachacare is beautiful, I've never really gotten the "haunted" feeling when we overnight but then again you gotta have the right company. I believe this place was a doctors office.
Hi Veronica, thanks for coming by. Yes, even the American TV show ghot hunters came down and did a show there. A lot of hype of course. But it does have a local Rep.
Scoutforlife he is not a swimmer thats why he was standin in water waist hight how could he drown like that its crazy 😔😢i heard a voice callin me i endend up in a hill on the road to the graveyard saw flies buzzin and ran back down it was my first visit and my last god keep his soul
@@happyindian9392 you can drown in waist high water, i nearly did at macqueripe i got cramp in my calves couldnt stand and fell down in the sea because my calves and legs seized up could not move the sea just kept going over me had to shout for help people thought i was joking but i literally couldnt stand up or walk was luckily pulled out of waist high water my legs were completely cramped up.lucky to be alive today always respect the sea. i am a decent swimmer but what i experienced very reluctant to swim in the deep.
that was quite an adventure. when you were in the UK. did you ever go over and investigate the ww2 german fortifications of occupied france or occupied holland? you know those nazi's gave the UK. quite hell from the other side of the english channel. i'm sure you know about that more than me. however, i find it all very interesting and i've looked into it quite a bit myself on the web. to me the european side of ww2 was much more interesting than that in the pacific. it's because of the divisiveness of those nazis. i wish they had captured hitler and that hitler had taken the stand in the Nuremberg trials. i would love to see what that tyrant would have said. i would even want to see video footage of hitler's hanging. that man makes me sick. anyway, thunmbed it up - it was excellent !!! A+

Wild place, thanks for sharing it with us!!
You should have given the history of the island, this would have made it even more interesting to viewers, coming from a Trinidadian 😉
