Boogie Frantick is TRUE to his name, the TIMING and how he is ON that beat, makes you really feel the MOVES he is executing. I love this style, A veteran and old skool original, but his oldskool stype IS STILL KILLER because he does it SO WELL so clean...that new dancers today could learn a lot from, getting that precision and accuracy. Amazing rounds from both....difficult one to choose if I was judge...BOTH are amazing dancers. Gucchon had to STEP it up as he knows he is dealing with a legend....legends ALWAYS bring out the BEST in each other.

Boogie Frantick from 0:15 - 0:40, and from 1:00 to 1:10. If only I could add that 35 seconds of dance to my repertoire, I would be at a whole new level of coolness on the dance floor. Hey, us 60+ year old guys can dream too.
I cannot keep a straight face when i watch gucchon dance. He makes me laugh EVERYTIME. Oh and I would like to see more animation from Frantick, I know he is amazing at it.
You can put a mask on him and still know that's Gucchon. He may not be in many people's top lists but he's still so dope. He limits himself because of his super unique style, but he's highly respected and rated for a reason. He is sticks to his way of popping and you can see and know that he is skilled enough to be more "traditional" if he wanted to. I always watch him to see what he does next. Dope battle. #respect

Anyone know of any old school cats who do puppet as well as Gucchon? I know there's Puppetmaster from LA, Skeeter Rabbit also did the puppet style. For Gucchon to end his 2nd round on the puppet should mean that he is quite comfortable in the puppet style. I would love to see this style evolved as I think it is one of the rarer substyles of popping/bopping.

Both are legends. Personally I had Frantick in this one. He was more thorough and crisp imo, but the crowd just wasn't appreciating his execution maybe cuz he wasn't as animated and hyped as Gucchon.
Gucchon won fair and square. I've seen better rounds from Frantick. According to Jaja there were over 400 participants so maybe Frantick ran out of gas, as a veteran you learn that recycling loses you rounds if the judges catch it. It would also explain Hoan's performance as well as the relatively low energy of the crowd in most of these vids. I don't know how many participants Summer dance usually has but 400 is a LOT of fricking battles.
After studying gucchon and many other dancer's moves for a long long time now, it's always been funny to me that almost all of gucchon his sets are made up out of parts of an insane proffesional skill level and parts of it are on a level of a guy who just started practicing his skill a week ago.
Gucchon should not be trying to out-do Frantick when it comes to animation, Frantick is on another level with that. However I did find that Gucchon was more well-rounded, doing more styles and more beat kills.

However, both of them are still following the rules of popping which is to "pop". I believe the reason why Gucchon won the votes by a landslide is because of his mad speed and control change. Frantick flowed through the music as you should but Gucchon showed him that he can flow through different layers of the music and still stay within the music if you know what I mean. Both of them have musicality but Gucchon had it better imo.
