He may not be the most eloquent but I was able to watch the entire half hour video without skipping because he is such and interesting dude and the interviewer asked some good questions. Cant say that about most celebrity interviews.
It's like fuckin like fuckin like Terminator like fuckin like fuckin like so scifi like, then like fuckin like Blomkamp fuckin said like fuckin like yeah. So it was fuckin like, sort of fuckin like fuckin.
This is the only interview I've seen ( of late ) where Ninja is out of character. He's dropped the heavy Afrikaaner accent. Brings back memories of when he was Max Normal.
i dont know why people are moaning aabout this interview. i like it a lot. it seems more like two friends having a chat, and ninja seems really chill because of this.
LOVED Chappie, LOVED this interview. Waddie and his beautiful family deserve every good thing coming their way; and I hope there is way more to come! Much love to Ninja and Yo-Landi :)
This is a good interview... good to see this guy seemingly much more relaxed... it seems more like the 'real' ninja rather than the showman he comes across as in most interviews.
This is Watkin Tudor Jones shining through the Ninja persona. Like, do you think the gangsta who fights and kills people and shit would sit with coffee/tea and talk about movies? and direct very artful and distinct videos? Nah, there's a real brain behind all this and he's pretty smart. It's not that it's like all a hoax or anything, it's just a man being an artist
Ninja: "Yeah, tssauch a sick sci-fi, like Niel and Teri, wro- wrote it, dis like sa cool fff-- it is. got a cool, it's like uh, it's like a re- it's like a sci fi that's not re- really a sci fi but it's sss, its like kind of super close to like, now, it's like, almost like, but it's, pfuzzss-" Interviewer: "Very near future"Ninja: "Yeah but it, such a, tslike such a, sss fuckin sci fi."
It's funny watching people complain about this interview. I'm tired of the same shit over and over, with uptight interviewers and making the person being interviewed feel like they are forced to behave like everyone else. I felt like (even though he seemed nervous) she allowed Ninja to just speak the way he wanted, regardless if she was behaving like a fangirl. You can learn more about ones personality this way, rather than feel like you're being restricted with what you can and cannot say.
i loved chappie!!! the mood the movie had was amazing! im also a big die antwoord fan now because of chappie!!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS MOVIE! I HOPE TO SEE MORE!!!! i havent been this blown away since district 9!!
The movie is what brought me to the Antwoord. I watched the film and I was absolutely gobsmacked, love Neil Blomkampf and District 9 etc. The song at the end credits was the cherry on the cake and I was like, who sings this song? Then I realised the band actually starred in the film then I was completely hooked on you guys!
It's so cool seeing this side of Ninja. Seeing how Watkin Tudor Jones is actually like. Not all hardcore. Just seeing his more human side. I know he's a performance artist. I just for the past 2 or 3 years been listening to them on and off never really looking into them.
Would imagine that Ninja is quite a difficult guy to interview as he inarticulately rants with not much direction...but my god, putting an interviewer who just laughs at things that arent funny and meekly agrees with doe eyes wasnt the right move. I wanted to know if the troubles in filming were true, this was a perfect opportunity to get that, but the ball was dropped here massively and we just get vanilla shit like "what was the most unexpected element of making a film?". And I think that is the most direct question...
lol...comoooon...this is already hating in your world? how frustrating. there is so much more hate in your comment pal... :D I love die antwoord and ninja's art since their debut... and still I think this would be a fun drinking game. ok..whole shots would kill you, maybe just take a sip... peace ;)
CHAPPiE is a very beautiful film. I never seen a film provoke such raw emotion within me. I love how the film turns a negative, sad environment into a amazing high vibration. The strength I admire.
Hell yess I'm a very very devoted Die Antwoord fan... Once I saw the movie I was hooked I felt so much emotions from that movies happy sad mad crying OMFG.... Please please make a 2nd one affter he's done with alines.
I've watched Chappie 9 times... might make it 10 this weekend! BEST FILM EVER. I LOVE DA - they made the film, it took me 2 views to realise Hugh Jackman was even in it 🤣👋
loved chappie but hadnt heard of ninja and yolandi - then that song at the end,i was like no....way thats them dudes ninja and yolandi. loved em ever since
I love Die Antwoord and Chappie so it would've been super cool with a nice interview about the movie. Instead we get a 30 minutes long train wreck with this total douche baguette behaving like a giggly 13 year old fangirl splooshing all over. She's asking really stupid questions, but most of all she's just going on and on trying to prove how she really gets Ninja and how hip and down with Die Antwoord she is, while failing spectacularly. Please let somebody competent handle the interviews in the future.
Wynne Fairy But what is it about the way he talks that you like? Is it his accent? Or the constant unnecessary expletives? But yeah, he should be stoked that his work is blowing up. Who here feels their act is satirical? Same thing they say about Riff Raff, which IMO tends to seem similar in some ways...
That's cool. Some people like to have several personas I guess. I don't think I can do it, but obviously others do well with it. :) I can't relate to the way he talks, i don't find it interesting or unique or complex in any sort of way. But doesn't make him "wrong" i guess. Based on your interest with fairy-like things, you might appreciate the art work of my friend Taurina: taurina.deviantart.com/gallery/
Whats with all the hate? Listen to their music. Watch their music videos. Both of their early work shows the scope and dynamic of their craft. Watkin Tudor Jones. They have had different names but contributed and even piloted Zeff. Real music.
That is one well disciplined rabbit. He made the right call (Ninja, not the rabbit) not doing a role that would conflict with the style of Die Antwoord. He obviously felt it would be kinda like selling out. Also, "The God's Must Be Crazy" hah! man I haven't seen that movie for years.. it had like a B grade film feel to it, but yeah I was a kid when that came out too but it was done really well. It probably had a small budget but it had a big impact. Ninja's a cool guy, nice, open and intelligent.
Ninja is a legitimate amphetamine addict and it really shows. His mannerisms and speech hints towards so much of it. The space headed talks, the deep gazes in muse of the aspect of thoughts. He's not all there. He's there, but he hasn't explored all the doors he has closed. I wish him well. I really do. He can be so much more. *He had us in the first run.*.JPEG.
I love what you've done with die antwoord. I really appreciate your intamit showing of their music videos with them explaining each one. I learned sooooo much from that one. And it brought a side of them I was so happy to see. It made me fall head over heels for them as individuals... And this interview was awesome as well. N remember haters don't deserve your attention:). BTW to the assholes hating... Maybe the stumble apon words along with sound affects are their to make things more intense.. Because that's how he feels ... Passionate about every word he says . remember the only real shit is in life is never planned or scripted. Can't wait to see more!!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!!thank you so much - Danielle Dewitt' sale
Are Ninja and Yo-Landi married? I read somewhere that they are, but then another website said that Ninja is married to someone else. I know that they have been a couple in the past and that they have a daughter. Does anyone know their current relationship status? 💕😂
dimitrijfjodorow ninja posted a while ago on instagram that the article in which it said that he was married was wrong. Some people think they just co-parent/ are best friends and other people believe that Anri and Waddy are married. They have a very unique relationship I dont think anyone really knows what their current relationship status is lol.
They adopted a south African boy named tokie as a type of accessory because of the way he looks(he's in some of their music videos has a rare genetic disorder). It's also super creepy that all the girls he's dated- at least 3 or 4 of them- look like almost carbon copies of his daughter. Seriously... Look at the side by sides...
I totally understand what he's trying to say, but I wish I could just edit it for him so he could express himself properly. I know there are complete thoughts there, but he really struggles articulating it. I know someone who is really smart and deep but they sound dumb as hell when you ask them a question but then if they are writing on Facebook or texting it's these full complete brilliant thoughts.
Wynne Fairy No! He is concentrating really hard, but this woman is ruining it for him. He has very clear thoughts, and opinions on things. Don't forget he is an artist, the whole world is watching..
Believe it or not Ninja is a character just like Borat. Somehow he NEVER breaks character. I don't know his real name but he actually is a well spoken artist (music, short films, painting). So yeah, he does have the whole world watching and is loving it.
Louis, why do you have to ruin it? Do you think I don't know? Can't you play along? Do you know anybody, how does not think this is a character? If so, he is too good. Or people are stupider than I thought.
Louis Crowley his name is Waddy Jones, and I know about his character acting but I don't think he's in character here as Ninja, because he's not acting like it. Some of his written interviews confirm he cusses a lot even around his child. So yeah I think he just studders a lot. Nothing wrong with that, just hard to understand him sometimes.
Everybody on the set said Ninja was pain in the ass to work with, giving people orders how to act etc... Chappie should have been called "Crappy", coz laak that what it fukken is.

That rabbit is incredibly well behaved.
janoat Hes dead. Usually dead are behaving well.
Really?! I never would've guessed. :)
I believe this is what you would call sarcasm
Hoho Usually? Erm, do you have any personal experience with misbehaving dead things?
hahahahah
It's like fuckin like fuckin like Terminator like fuckin like fuckin like so scifi like, then like fuckin like Blomkamp fuckin said like fuckin like yeah. So it was fuckin like, sort of fuckin like fuckin.
yes
I can only bear so many "likes" in a single sentence. CLICK.
I clicked the "translate" link but I still don't understand it
I can't believe there is a translate button under your comment. That is brilliant.
lol translate
I love that he has his daughters name tattooed in his face! Ninjaaaa ❤
I was waiting whole 30 minutes for the rabbit to move
This is the only interview I've seen ( of late ) where Ninja is out of character. He's dropped the heavy Afrikaaner accent. Brings back memories of when he was Max Normal.

Soxxielou x Uneducated and un-intelligent man and lady-fact. No sexy person whos got style and looks and intelligence cares of these people-fact!
@@serendipityculture1679 sounds very ignorant
I've never seen a coherent Ninja interview. Very cool to get a glimpse into the creative process of Die Antwoord.
Ninja is so lucky to have such a sweet daughter.
LOVED Chappie, LOVED this interview. Waddie and his beautiful family deserve every good thing coming their way; and I hope there is way more to come!
Much love to Ninja and Yo-Landi :)
When Sixteen got brought up Ninja completely lit up and smiled it was so cute😭❤️
Learning to appreciate the present and to enjoy the random is a wonderful thing.
I cracked up when he said I wanna swim with dolphins
This is a good interview... good to see this guy seemingly much more relaxed... it seems more like the 'real' ninja rather than the showman he comes across as in most interviews.
Yeah I agree. More like Waddy Jones than Ninja.
God damn Ninja drops the like bomb every 2 words.
This is Watkin Tudor Jones shining through the Ninja persona. Should I be embarrassed about the fact that I cried while watching this interview....?
Polarlicht Embarrassed? No.Concerned? Maybe, if you think this guy is so deep that his mellifluous prose moved you to tears...
+Polarlicht Waste of joule to embarrassiate. Impressive feat, cheers

Xeni Jardin is incredibly attractive. Love her voice, her style, articulate nature and her intellect.

I think no one would survive that

It was like Short Circuit’s dark cooler remake
Take a shot every time he says *"LIKE"*
He is quite recognizable for a Ninja..
Waddy is a legend, and this just makes me want to watch Chappie. ! x
CHAPPiE is a very beautiful film. I never seen a film provoke such raw emotion within me. I love how the film turns a negative, sad environment into a amazing high vibration. The strength I admire.

Did you enjoy it
Hell yess I'm a very very devoted Die Antwoord fan... Once I saw the movie I was hooked I felt so much emotions from that movies happy sad mad crying OMFG.... Please please make a 2nd one affter he's done with alines.
Loved this interview, Ninja and Yolandi are such inspirations.
Husband and I loved you guys, your music, and you as people. Then seeing you in chappie was like icing on the cake. Awesome work. Thanks!
He pays homage to T2 in the video 'baby's on Fire'
I enjoyed seeing and listening to this side of him🐱
I really dig Die Antwoord! I've liked them for a few years now, and it's super cool to see them in a movie.

I'm hypnotised by Ninja's eyes.
I've watched Chappie 9 times... might make it 10 this weekend! BEST FILM EVER. I LOVE DA - they made the film, it took me 2 views to realise Hugh Jackman was even in it 🤣👋
This dude is like a Ali G in 2015. Man I can see SBC doing this character.
i dont think english is his first language, so its normal to stutter like that

Chappie was a fucking awesome movie. Die Antwoord made it for me, they are great artists.
Vancouver Film School.
ChAPPiE was a fantastic film, and Die Antwoord was awesome!! I hadn't really known about them. Neil Bloomkamp is a genius.
Xeni reminds me so much of Annie Lennox.
How many times can he say "like"?
He's like birdman who says nigga in every lyric
I Can see Chris Cunningham and Die Antwoord doing ranXerox. Chris has always wanted to do that flick..
What does the 16 stand for under his eyes?
Shaun Rainey His daughter's name.
I love Die Antwoord and Chappie so it would've been super cool with a nice interview about the movie. Instead we get a 30 minutes long train wreck with this total douche baguette behaving like a giggly 13 year old fangirl splooshing all over.

This guy is actually brilliant...
Am i the only one who's immediately reminded of Lucile 2 on arrested development when this chick talks?

30min+ 12 seconds

Someone can count the ''like'' ?

Chappie is a great film
He reminds me of the character that the beast can channel. You know the guy with the multiple personalities. . Nija is the young boy he channels. Inspired!
Also a bit of chirs Lilly as johnah 😂
Ninja seemed a lot less articulate than past interviews.
Is that macklemore?
badass!!!
So, it's not an act... Ninja is a fucking mental patient.
Plus, he talks really loud at the movies... Could he please be a little bit
considerate?
0:59 lmao
like like like like like.. foken foken foken.. give this guy a book.
I feel for Brandon Auret
I want some of that tea they're having #tripp
Is he?
I dont care if he was a diva and a pain on set, it was fucking so good!
I honestly think a lot of those things are rumors. Knowing Die Antwoord and being a fan way before Chappie I just can't imagine Ninja behaving that way.
Watch some of the recent videos about them... I was a die hard Die Antword fan until recently .. Ninja and Yolandi are racist homophobic and all around pretty awful hateful people. Ninja attacked an artist on tour with them in 2012 that was gay then he and Yolandi fabricated a story that the guy sexually assaulted Yolandi. There's video of it. Always a bummer when people you think are inspirational are really awful people
