- Very last lap of the day was pure bliss!
Entered just a moment before Touristenfahrten was about to close.
Had an almost empty track ahead, warm tires, happiness!
After surpassingly breaking my own best time in the morning on my 2nd lap of the day with 7:37" BTG I wasn't expecting to beat that time.
But there it is, my sub :40!
My GT4 is completely stock. Have only put the wing in max. downforce position and removed the small diffusor bits at the front to level the car out.

idk man.... 7:34 BTG time? for a car that costs nearly 100 grand? using modern tires? Of course people are gonna say "oh it's just a video game it doesn't count" but in Assetto Corsa you can definitely set 7:30's with a 1983 toyota corolla ae86 as long as it has a lightly tuned blacktop 4age from the ae111 or a BEAMS 3SGE in it... and coilovers, you can even use road legal tires and still go that fast. With literally half the HP this thing has....
@@BladezAndrew Mate 100 grand for a 981 gt4.... Full spec carbon buckets, clubsport, and ceramics costs £75k so you must obviously not research anything before you type. I own a 981 gt4 and I paid £70k with all said options. It's a drivers car. If you're talking dollars which you probably are then maybe in the US but in the UK this is about the best value for money sports car.
@@donutdoesminecraft all of that and it has the performance of actually slower than, Civic Type R, or a Renault Megane sub 300hp FWD hatch..... Cool for me it says the base model is $106,000 with up to $11,000 extra for options. For the price of just the options you can buy a used car that’s faster.
@@BladezAndrew hmmm yeah in the US there are a lot of options but in the UK we don’t have major access to other car brands corvettes are only starting to come through now
@@BladezAndrew i need video evidence of this, ive done 100’s of laps around the nordschleife in assetto corsa but a 7:30 in an ae86 sounds impossible unless it’s heavily modified.

Damn, this lap's 8 seconds faster than the factory timed lap set by Christian Gebhardt.
I love this video for the sheer fact there is actually stick shifting of the car and not the darn paddles shifting 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽, and the passenger looked calm as hell 😂😂😂

The Cayman GT4 has an automatic rev match on the down shift.
He has sport mode on so the rev matching is done by the car.

You sir, handle your GT4 and the "ring" quite masterfully. Was surprised how quiet it was...traffic typically seems heavier. Perhaps rain was in the forecast? Congrats on your personal best (at least at the time this video was shot!)

Nice driving. Very close to the lap of the 2015 Z-28, which was partially in the rain. I drove the Ring this summer for two days with RSR. Incredible. I have a fully track prepared Z-28 in the U.S., work actually getting done now. Would love to bring it to the Ring, but not likely to happen.

2 questions :
- How do change the wing position ? Mine don't have any other mounting point, but I see that I can effectively remove the smal diffusor, so I don't really understand why.
- How do you mount the camera ?

The first time I ran out of track was when I had a girl in my passenger seat
+Xu Edward Me too. And it was the stupidest, small track ever. Peanuts compared to the ring. Was too busy and concerned if she was ok during the ride. But now this friend of mine brought me luck it seems.
Same here:( my girlfriend joint 2 times. Nordschleife and Assen both times I spinned on a wet track. Luckely no damage:)

+xthilox No indeed, thanks for the advice. But honestly I wasn't pushing to beat my record but more to finally use the track without traffic. Hence I wasn't wearing a helmet and had a passenger. Wasn't planning to go quicker than usual but it just happened funnily enough. Probably just for the reason you just mentioned. But for sure you have a point. Actually that was what I said to friend in the car just before we launched; "now I need to be carefull to not do anything stupid. Last lap of the day thing.." :D
That's weird indeed. I use the 2,7K format at 25fps. Upload the standard raw file and voila. Should work with you as well. Let's compare settings if you like next time. Cheers!
Agree, in many bends the second gear is unnecessary. The car would run smoother and faster in third. Therefore, the braking power is absolutely amazing, incredible car!
i use 2,7k 60fps .. but the funny thing is that you can watch 1440p on chrome .. but not on safari .. but yours is visible on safari too .. you can check my last video .. you see it in 1440p? i cant see it on safari.
Strange. I can't watch it on 1440 as well on safari. Has to be something with youtube then. Try uploading the next one via another device to test? I just upload it via youtube on my Macbook Air with OS Sierra and Safari.
i had a chat with youtube some weeks ago .. and OF COURSE they recommend to use chrome ;)) .. so no help or explanation from them ...

Amazing lap but one question! Why did you only drive with the PASM on for a short while and then turned it off?
Thanks. Because the car is too unstable after a jump and I put the suspension on stiff. This way it stays more flat & steady.

Difference is day and night but the biggest difference is stability and therefore confidence. The suspension and downforce really work.
Porsche engineered some fun factor oversteer in the GTS when turning into corners, this was scary at times.
The GT4 is made for this track and you feel it.
I just noticed that you switched on some button after Flugplatz and before fox Rohr you switched back. Is that setting for schwedekreuz?
Great lap, sounds as if the car is scrubbing a lot of front tyres, had you considered the Manthey track geometry set up? Well done anyway......
+LotusEliseType25 Thanks. Yep it is. Stock camber settings which is not great on the tires. No gonna keep it stock because I always have to drive a long way home.

Impressive lap. How to calculate and convert touring layout’s time to a regular layout??
Add about 20-25 seconds to have a full official Nordschleife timing instead of Bridge To Gantry.

Bonkers lap!! I have a 15 Golf R stage 2 Unitronic pushing about 400hp. Love to whip it around there but cant afford to ship it from California. I will have to stick to Laguna Seca & Infineon.

Thanks. Nope 100% stock except putting the wing in max. downforce and removing the small front air dams to balance the car back out.
