lol dont come for me i dont know maths n meant to say the sims 3 takes place 50 years before the sims 2 according to that timeline pic but there's clear discrepancies that I will have a look at in a later video 🥰
@@tycoonsimmer I forgot to put it up! It's in the description now, here it is: www.fyeahlolita.com/2013/11/why-is-lolita-called-lolita-does-lolita.html
In the timeline I think sims Urbz for the console is also canonical since it takes in the same universe as the handheld one , and because the handheld is connected to the others , the console versions should too
Also can you please make in a in depth video of that sims timeline pic? (of the whole story) I'm really into the sims gba games and I want to know how they connect in the og canon since I'm happy that they count as canon :)
@@totallyrealnotfakelifeadvi7547 I thought this too but then I started to remember how bad the clothes were from the sims 3; base game clothes weren’t exactly the nicest clothes and I think they did the best that they could to make her look gothic lolita with fashion trends from 2009~I used to be really into that kind of fashion and honestly, what Lolita Goth wears really reminds me of a more downplayed and casual approach to the fashion style :D
My theory is Lolita is Oliva's daughter and Samuel's stepdaughter. He married Oliva to get closer to her daughter, Lolita like in the novel. One day Oliva found the two were having an affair and poisoned Samuel secretly with his favorite jelly treat. Lolita was distraught and Oliva tried murdering Lolita by electrocution, but unfortunately, it started a huge house fire. I know Oliva and Lolita are both Young Adults but I believe that was so the Sims did not have backlash about pedophilia. It is known in Samuel's bio that he is attracted to young girls so I believe it makes sense.
Why they didn't use Mortimer? In the latin-american translation Mortimer is called Homero Lápida (Homer 'Grave'). I've always wanted to know the names of this family in other languages lol.
I think Lolita is just the deceased child of gunther and Cornelia. It would explain why they're technophobes and don't have any electronics in their house, Lolita dying by electrocution, it would be a painful memory. It could explain their bad relationship as that can ruin marriages sometimes. It would also explain why gunther and Cornelia are much older when they had mortimer, a last hope baby.
No because Lolita flirts with Gunther when she’s a ghost, so that makes no sense. Unless theres some weird incest going on lol. I think Lolita is Gunthers ex wife and she was also pregnant at the time of her death, explaining the crib in the old room of the house.
@@ameliefrench the flirting is most likely because she’s not in the family tree. Same goes with frida and samuel. If frida is gunther’s older sister, why isn’t she on the family tree like Agnes? I think it’s a mistake by the sims team.
My theory is that she's Gunther first wife, and Gunther killed her because she didn't fit the Goth image; remember how Cornelia's bio is literally just about how she's the perfect wife for Gunther because she's well mannered and refined? Meanwhile, Lolita has the childish trait, which probably means that she wasn't those things, and Gunther found her an embarrassment, so he killed her in a way that looked like an accident. Why didn't he just divorce her? Could be that it was an arranged marriage like the one the family was trying to push Frida into, and if that's the case, Gunther's feelings of resentment towards Frida could be a mix of anger that she wasn't willing to bite the bullet for the family like he did, and jealousy that she was strong enough to avoid her arranged marriage
Bit bleak. I prefer the idea that she was Gunther's first wife and died in an accident. To me, it would be one of the reasons Gunther and Cornelia married and had Mortimer quite late in life, and have a fairly cool relationship with each other. Perhaps both are pushed into it a bit to "continue the family line". I do like your theory; I just prefer a slightly lighter take.
I like the idea that after Bella disappeared Alexander stole a time machine his sister invented and went back in time to prevent his mothers disappearance. Lolita is his wife who went with him, but something went wrong and they went too far. Lolita died of electrocution as a result, but Alexander survived and wrote all the books that you see he wrote in the sims 3 to try and prevent what happened to his mother.
If he changed timeline to save his mother, that explains why Sims 4 is uncannon. When you meddle with time, you change everything. Ironically that means Sims 4 ARE cannon by not being cannon because of Alexander's action. He changed world by preventing Bella from vanishing. This explains why so many cannon families are in 4 and yet they behave non-cannon in it. Bella isn't kidnapped and Alexander aware of what happened in canonic world, works out hard to not let his parents drift apart - so there is no reason for searching affairs be it with Don Lothario (where she was kidnapped) or with Dina Kaliente (who is related to ufo and would be sister-in-law so very close in surroundings for Mortimer to start to jump ship if his marriage with Bella would struggle). So this happy, merry Goth family with Mortimer and Bella happily married in 4, is actually the end effort of past Sims 2's Alexander Goth trying to fix the past. So he altered Kaliente sisters, Don Lothario, probably Cassandra's fate (as Don wouldn't be close to Bella, he would have harder to reach to her daughter) and probably also convinced Mortimer to NOT test life elixir on Bella, so they could age together as couple instead. Bella's unnatural young looks brought Don Lothario towards Goth's in first place, and Alexander knows he is terrible for any woman - be it Bella (his mom) or Cassandra (his sister). Given Nintendo Sims version, it's possible that after changing timeline, the old timeline Alexander returned to his version of world and married some girl family told him to - that being Cecilia who seemingly likes him less then her friend. Alexander just settles with it, since he knows he managed to fix timeline for his past self. This self will die in bad version, but this past self will live in alternate better version - so he maybe at peace even with unfit wife he was forced to marry.
So, Don Lothario, Alexander Goth and Emit Relevart are three confirmed time travelers. If Lolita is a fourth one, it would explain why The Sims 3 is in 1954 but has that modern aesthetic. Multiple time travels changed the natural course of things, and maybe generated a new timeline. I like to think that, it sounds interesting.
@@kali6753 I think that, the first time we play in the 50's (in The Sims 3) the timeline is already altered because of the multiple time-travels, and that's why everything is so modern even though we're in the past.
while im here, i'd like to mention, in case anyone is confused, that lolita (the book) is NOT meant to be a justification or defense of pedophilia and predatory behavior. it is not trying to romanticize it, and humphred is not meant to be seen as a good person. he may be the protagonist of the story, but he is not the hero and never has been. the author himself was a victim of sexual assault, and writing humphred the way he did was meant as a way to have members of the audience who sympathized with him question WHY they felt that way about such a horrible man. from what ive heard, the movie actually wildly misinterpreted the point of the book and went the route of romanticism, so i wouldnt reccomend watching it if you have any interest in lolita. its also a very difficult book to digest (ive still not read it and dont have any plans to any time soon), so please be careful if you think it would be too upsetting for you.
It took me at least four tries to get through the book, but it was worth it. I honestly felt it was LESS disturbing than the movies, because the movies were trying to make "underage romance" look acceptable where, while distasteful, the book wasn't making any excuses for it.
But that still doesnt make sense because Lolita flirts with Gunther when shes a ghost. I think Lolita is Gunthers ex wife and was pregnant at the time of her death, explaining the abandoned crib in the old room of their house.
@@TigerDragonmoon yeah but in this case I don’t think that’s it. It’s definitely to do with lore, no other families in the sims are seen keeping their old baby stuff. I don’t think the sims team would add such a random & unneeded detail just to show they’re keeping mortimers crib. What would be the point of that? It’s clearly hinting at smth else like a lost baby
Maybe Lolita was Olivia's daughter and Samuel's stepdaughter, and that's where she got the name Goth, and the reason why she can flirt with Gunther. My theory is that Lolita went to Sunset valley to spend some time with her stepfamily, Gunther and her got involved and after that she died from electrocution (the laptops In Gunther's inventory)
@@francescaicaza5148 Would not make sense that Olivia had a young adult daughter, being a young adult herself and Samuel an Elder marrying Olivia as a young adult. There is no mention of Olivia having had a child whatsoever. I believe that Lolita is referencing the book/movie as she stated, in the way that Lolita is supposed to be Samuels first love who died and then he gets with a young adult sim who reminds him in age and personality of Lolita. Just as he did in the book/movie when he lost his first teenage love and then obsesses over the young girl. But because it’d be weird for them to make them any other age under Young Adult, they made them older. The reason why she’s in Sunset Valley, is because in the family bio for Gunther and the others, it states that the Goths have been a family there for ages. So I assume that the house has been passed down, which would make it likely that Samuel Goth lived there and must have married Lolita, possibly in secret. Maybe he was already an adult and because she was younger and not in his class range, it was kind of a hush hush relationship. She dies, he moves out and passes the home down to his sibling, they die and pass it to Gunther and his family. Lolita manifests and mistakes Gunther for Samuel because they may have looked alike. That’s why she flirts and is upset when he rejects it, and why no one really knows who she is.
@@misafromthenet Although I am not keen on this theory because that's not mentioned in the bio, it's possible Olivia died in childbirth and Lolita grew up until young adult age when she died. Moreover, the Supernatural expansion enable the gamer to have a ghost baby of ghost parents. If I remember correctly, it's 100% chance of having a ghost baby if Samuel and Olivia are both ghosts. Ghosts babies are able to age up to young adult with cakes (I don't remember if that's also possible within the pass of Sim days). Having a ghost baby was not possible with the base game only. Maybe that's an Easter egg of the update needed to install the Supernatural expansion pack. Perhaps Samuel and Olivia are Lolita's parents, but relatives living in other cities don't appear in the genetic tree.
@adam cecic Maybe it was Lolita who died in childbirth, who knows. I don't know when they died. I've considered Olivia as Lolita's mom because of the new possibilities of giving birth a ghost baby introduced with the new expansion pack. Maybe Olivia wasn't born as a ghost but as a human Sim. When she became a young adult she killed herself by electrocution. Isn't that weird Lolita and Olivia died at the same age by the same reason?
I tried to listen to Lolita with audible and I couldn't cope with the male voice speaking Humberts desires, I felt too disturbed to continue (especially since I listen in the dark when I go to bed it was extra creepy). To me Lolita Goth is def based on the novel, and Olivia seems to be her aged up no longer going by the nickname
the movie is also disturbing, there is a deleted scene where humbert walks in the room with all the pedos and deviants and they laugh hysterically after their leader is shot
Heres my theory: Lolita is Gunthers ex-wife, and that’s why she has the last name ‘Goth’ not because they’re related, but because she got the last name when they married. It would also explain why her ghost tries to flirt with him. However, maybe Lolita ended up falling for Gunthers uncle, Samuel because she has the same favourites to Samuel and Olivia, this could imply a love triangle. Lolita had more stuff in common to Samuel and would explain why she had an affair with him, and also explains Samuels attraction to younger sims and his insanity, referencing to the book. Lolita also could’ve been pregnant, which clears up why Gunther’s house has a crib in an old room. However, Lolita didn’t know whether the baby belonged to Gunther or his uncle Samuel. Gunther never found out about the affair but Samuels wife, Olivia had. Olivia then slipped the faulty jellybean alongside Samuels other jellybeans, killing him and also inheriting his fortune. After Samuel died from eating the jellybeans, Lolita went over to his house to look for him, Olivia was waiting for her, plotting to kill Lolita by electrocution with the radio. However, when she killed Lolita, the electricity caused an electrical fire (as it states in Frida’s bio) killing Olivia and also Frida who was also in the house. (This also explains why Olivia doesn’t like Helen, because her jealousy follows her into the after life, where she is stuck with Samuel to haunt the house they died in. When he invites Helen to stay, this angers her about the cheating more) Gunther then had Lolita buried in his garden, where she remains to this day. As for the laptops in Gunthers inventory, idk how to explain those so if anyone can put those into context then please do :)
We should check if thee computers work of if they are damaged and require fixation; could be that Olivia and Gunther planned the whole homicide and Gunther took the computers cause he knew they were evidence of the incident? Maybe one of them is damaged and the other one was just a bad reminder since they are non technology users overall
that's a good theory, but I don't think Lolita would have had an affair with Gunther's uncle, simply because she is a hopeless romantic. It isn't in the profile of sims with that trait to cheat on their partner.
When I resurrected her she automatically gave me a vibe of not being blood related to the Goths, Goths (on Mortimer's side) usually have more strange features? Idk how to explain it. Also I hadn't realised that Samuel's wife only had 4 traits and not 5? Maybe that's a hint to their age difference? It could be that they got married when she was a teenager and the only way to show that was not give her another personality trait (since the vanilla game doesn't allow adult-teen relationships and it would have been more disturbing) I feel like the book is somehow involved.
very strange how in the Goth bio from Moonlight Falls it says that Samuel died because of the jellybeans, but it also says that the electronic accident caused 3 deaths. Couldn't have been Samuel, because he was already a ghost. And Lolita died from electrocution, so it could've been her
@Rebecca Mason I don't think the meant the fire caused three deaths, I think it's saying the fire brought the total number of deaths to happen around the same time to three
Samuel and Lolita were involved/married and lived in the house in Sunset Valley. She died from electrocution as a young adult. He moved out and left the home to his sibling and significant other, which after their deaths was passed down to Gunther, Cornelia, and Mortimer. Samuel developed an addiction to the jelly beans and Frida came to take care of him. But I also don’t think she trusted his new love interest because of the difference in age and class. But some time as an elder he met and fell in love with Olivia who reminded him so much of his deceased first love in age and personality. I believe that Lolita manifests as a ghost and mistakes Gunther for Samuel because maybe he resembles Samuel when he was younger. Edit for more: Would not make sense that Olivia had a young adult daughter, being a young adult herself and Samuel an Elder marrying Olivia as a young adult. That’s why she flirts and is upset when he rejects it, and why no one really knows who she is.
Here's my theory: The Sunset Valley Goth family bio questions the possibility to raise a young child (Mortimer) next to a cemetery. To me, it is implied he will be affected by living with ghosts in some way. I believe Lolita Goth is based on Vladimir Nakobov's novel. First, in the French version of the games (and a few others aswell) Mortimer is translated to Vladimir. The novel was shocking at the time because Vladimir Nobokov is very similar to the character Humbert Humbert and to Mortimer Goth : savant, scholar, serious and from a slavic/russian bourgeois background (the name Vladimir suggests it and historically the Goths were a people from Eastern Europe). So I think Mortimer (Vladimir) Goth suffered from a similar trauma than Humbert. Growing up as a teenager, he falls in love with Lolita Goth ghost, but is terribly frustrated and sad because he knows he will never be able to marry her and grow old with her. So he decides to marry Sonia instead, his childhood best friend, which satisfy her parents who wish to socially elevate through their kids (their family bio). Mortimer's parents are happy with this match cause she's basically the embodiment of a trophy wife (love Sonia but let's be real haha). But Mortimer cannot forget about his first love, Lolita and dedicates his life to find a way to bring her back to life, and starts working in the scientific career until reaching the top position in this field (in the Sims 2 he is retired at the highest position). Let's add that in the Sims 3 basegame, the "big" thing to discover is Ambrosia, a dish that resuscitates ghosts. So yeah, I do think Mortimer prefers very young women, and this may be why Sonia stays younger than him (maybe he found a way to keep her young), and also why after her disappearing he has a thing with Dina Caliente, who's also younger, because Lolita was forever young. Since there's no Lolita in the Sims 2 I guess he never found a way to bring Lolita back to life, hence the "mad scientist" job title in the Sims 2.
Your theory has sence, since both Cornelia and Gunther are getting old. Maybe they had Lolita first but she died after Mortimer born. But even the ghosts have a place in the family tree, and she's not there. I like it anyways.
5:10 - ohh, you know what I was thinking? I was thinking that maybe once upon a time the house did have electronics but when Lollita died they got rid of all the electronics and so now the house is electronicness
Cool theories!! It really got me thinking, so here's mine: In conclusion, I think she's just Gunthers cousin or something who lived with them, since there is even an extra room in the Goth manor. And maybe she ran away from Samuel as he was pursuing her romantically (referencing to the book Lolita). The cause of death is electrocution and the reason why the Goth manor doesnt have any electronics anymore (except for Gunther having the laptop as he needs it for work, being the CEO and all). The cause of why Lolita died is probably just bc she was fiddling with some electronics, having the childish trait and all. I personally cant think of Gunther as a bad guy. I've played with Goths SO much. I believe he not only let Lolita stay in the manor, but also saved her from Samuel. Thank you for reading😊
Or she was probably asked by her aunt to fix something with her when she came back for her stuff and that's why they both died of electrocution that or murder lol
Lolita is a goth either by birth or marriage which is why she's buried in the backyard. The Goths bury their dead in backyard (kinda like the Addams family where their entire family is buried in their backyard)
Great video! As always, I learn so much. I'm going to go with, Lolita is Samuel's first wife, they were both young and had the same favorites, but she passed away or was killed, who knows? Then he met Frieda and they fell in love because they also have the same favorites despite the age and class difference. Tat's when they moved to Moonlight Falls. That would also tie into the Lolita story losely of a man having a first love the same age as him, but then keeping an attraction for people younger as he gets older. Helen Hall who moves into the house, her name is HH like Humbert Humbert.
I always imagined her as Gunther's first wife. They married when young and she died. Gunther and Cornelia were nudged together by their powerful families, and they had Mortimer late in life, satisfying Victor and Gretle's desire for the family line to continue (Samuel is either dead or considered a disgrace, and Frida having decided that she didn't want to marry a Landgraab)
Well, as a kid I was so surprised BUT super scared that Cornelia Goth had my name. It scared me for some reason, it’s not a really normal name, so seeing it in the sims as a 10 year old… it scared me so bad
I think Lolita is either the first wife of Victor Goth or the oldest child of Gunter and Cornelia. Both scenarios make sense to me. If they made Lolita for the book, then her being a love interest for Victor makes sense. If she was meant to be Gunther and Cornelia's eldest child, it would explain why the Goths are kinda technophobes and don't allow electronics in the house. Edit: Her being Victor's first wife would also explain why she doesn't connect to any of the other Goths family tree. If a sims spouse dies and they remarry, the deceased spouse no longer shows up in their family tree.
1:08 Mortimer was a retired mad scientist in the Sims 2 right? Wouldn't that explain why Bella appeared much younger, idk bout you but I think Mortimer made a type of 'Young again' potion and gave it to his wife?
I know this is an old video and I didn't check comments to see if anyone has already said this, but here are the reasons Lolita is Gunther's first wife. 1: Gunther and Cornelia were already well into adulthood by the time Mortimer was born, leaving a time gap perfect for Gunther and Lolita's courtship, marriage, and grieving period after her accidental death. (Did the crib and highchair in the attic once belong to Mortimer or to Lolita's unborn child?) 2: Gunther needed an heir to his fortune, so he married Cornelia (Lolita's opposite) to achieve this. This explains why both of them have a good relationship with their son, but not with each other. Gunther never got over the death of his first wife and feels guilty, which also explains why he is a workaholic. 3: Cornelia wants to have a perfect garden and is clearly interested in gardening, as seen by the gardening book in her inventory. However, she spends all of her time by the bookstore rather than at her own house gardening. This is because of Lolita's ghost hanging over her, a constant reminder of the woman she will forever live in the shadow of. This would also explain her unflirty trait, she was in love with Gunther; however, it is hard to be romantic with a man who is in love with the ghost looking over your shoulder. That or Gunther was looking for someone who was uninterested in a physical relationship beyond having a son. 4: This also explains why everyone has the grumpy trait and why Mortimer is so weird when Bella disappears in Sims 2. Though he was close to Bella, he never saw what healthy relationships are supposed to be like. Like his father, when the woman he loves is gone, Mortimer quickly moves onto a new woman. Though Mortimer already has his heir, when it comes to relationships, he is following in his father's footsteps. :Though no text states Lolita was Gunther's first wife, I believe the behaviors of the Goth family strongly reflect this. Also, since Gunther feels guilt over his second marriage and Cornelia would rather she not exist, it would make sense why her name was stricken from the records.
I think it's interesting that a bunch of those ghosts all liked pop music. I think that means they all died kinda recently before the start of the game
I like the theory that she is Alexanders and Cecilias daughter or Alexanders wife and got electrocuted repairing the time machine. Chrilsims has a great vid on it and it ties in with the alexplayssims bella goth disappearancr heory
Yeah I do agree. Lolita might be Alexander's first wife, that explains why his relationship with Cecelia is a bit strained, like how alexplaysims explained in that post. I used to think she was Gunther or Samuel's partner up till I read that post by Alex play Sims. It's kinda relatable considering why Alexander has a rocky relationship with Cecelia. He probably still loves Lolita
My mom was telling me about how she watched the movie adaptation of Lolita a few hours ago. I then got this video recommended to me at random. Not the only time I've heard someone mention the book, but funny it'd come up twice in one day.
I have 3 guesses. 1. she is supposed to be Gunther's first wife. A woman that, (like Olivia to his uncle) was much poorer than he and whom he truly loved, soon after their marriage Lolita died of electrocution just like Olivia did as a result of some sort of Curse from a classist forbearer that if the Goths married people who were "below their status" the new spouse would die by electrocution. This could explain Gunthers insistence on his sister marrying a Landgraab despite the fact that he doesn't have the snobbish trait and it says specifically in his bio that he isn't arrogant. He was just trying to prevent the curse from claiming a second victim, This could also explain his lack of affection for his second wife whom he only married to keep the family line going. He also may have removed all electronics from the house to prevent an electrocution from reoccurring. 2. Lolita is the child of Olivia and Samuel who went to live with Gunther and possibly his parents after the rest of the moonlight falls household died (since her parents are in another town she would not show up in his family tree) This could explain why he was so late to marry and have a kid of his own, He was busy raising his cousin Lolita, When she grew up she died by electrocution just like her mother, A devestated Gunther buried the girl in the family cemetery and later married Cornelia. 3. Lolita was Samuels first wife, Gunther was always creeped out by his uncle's insistence to marry women much younger than him, and his marriage to Lolita, possibly a childhood friend of his, was a major sticking point. Samuel met another younger woman as lolita began to get older and Lolita died of electrocution under mysterious circumstances. Believing samuel to be responsible for Lolita's death Gunther essentially chased him out of town and became worried when his sister made plans to go with them. He got into some sort of argument with his sister trying to convince her to stay with frida not believing him about the shadiness of their uncle and running away nonetheless he then buried lolita in the family cemetery.
I think Lolita is suppoused to be a reference to the book.. as in Lucky Palms there’s this old guy who’s surname is Vokoban (Reference to Nabokov, the last name of Lolitas author) and he has a younger lover. I also believe that Lolita was probably married to someone in the goth family, that’s the only explanation of why she has the goth surname but it’s not connected at the family tree.
When I played the sims 3 as a kid, I never really looked into it too much and just assumed Lolita was a random relative of the Goths. Now, I'm thinking she was possibly Gunther's first wife. Maybe she was really a teen, but they didn't make her a teen cuz that was too disturbing for a game kids play, but the name and traits imply she was young. Some cultures consider 17 an adult, so it could be that situation too like in the book, and Lolita is technically an adult who was groomed by Gunther, an older man, as a teen. Or, maybe, also like in the book, she and Gunther were the same age at the time of her death, and he was traumatized by the death of his young love, and that's what they're referencing. Who knows.
I think the fact that Gunther and Cornelia being in late adulthood (40’s and 50’s) while their only and first son is still a child strongly indicates that Gunther met Cornelia later in life. That pretty much solves the mistery. Lolita is very possible Gunther's first wife.
Going by the book (at least the summary in the video, I haven't read it), maybe Lolita was Samuel's first love when he was younger, and after she died he never recovered, which is why when he was older he ended up marrying someone much younger who had the same traits because she reminded him of her.
I love Sims mysteries! Especially the Lolita Goth mystery. I knew that this book is involved, but you listed many more evidences I didn't find. It's great how subtle this game is with references and still there are so many details. Your video is one the best I have seen about this topic, and you have a very pleasant voice :)
I just came up with a scenario in my head the other day where she's Gunther's cousin (Samuel's daughter). Since Frida didn't want to marry the Landgraab guy (Chester?) she moved with Uncle Sam and he offered his own daughter in Frida's place but she ended up dying before they could tie the knot. Then that leads to another scenario that I made up about Chester and Queenie Landgraab.
My favorite theory I've heard about Lolita Goth is that she's Gunther or Frida's childhood imaginary friend brought to life. It would explain why she has the surname but isn't related in the family tree at all. They could have been trying to replicate some of the silliness of the imaginary friend outfits with items that came with the Supernatural expansion or were base game so it didn't require the Generations EP.
the story of lolita goth: Lolita and Gunther met in a meadow causing them to fall in love. They loved each other dearly and a couple months later Gunther proposed to her. Cornelia was very jelous and wanted to get rid of her. Eventually they got married and this made cornelia hate her even more. One day she couldent stand it anymore so she sabotaged their music box Lolita went to turn it on and when she did she go electriocuted and died. Gunther noticed that his wife was taking a while to come back so he went to investigate. He walked in and found his wife dead on the floor causing him to have a breakdown in tears Cornelia saw how heartbroken he was and instantly regretted her decision, to that day she would hate herself forever. Hope u like my theorie! :D
I think a lot of this is a major stretch-Lolita's childish trait itself could also be a reference to the lolita fashion being very childish, to resist sexualization. If Lolita were related to the Goths, thays family thread wouldn't just disappear-its more likely in my opinion that Lolita is just Gunther's first wife who died, and since the Sims 3 registers death as a divorce (otherwise the living sim wouldn't be able to remarry) she had to be removed from his family tree. The Sims gets dark-but it doesn't get Lolita Book dark!!!
This was one is one of my most favorite videos of you lately. I find it funny that those of us that have been playing for a while understand everything with little explanation. Is like we are indoctrinated hahahahaha. I always felt like Cornelia and Gunther from TS3 did not translate to their counterparts in TS1/TS2
Imagine lolita is Olivia's daughter from a previous relationship, and Samuel adopts her when he marries Olivia, hence the goth surname. Now imagine, like in the book, that Samuel takes the role of Humbert Humbert and becomes romantically obsessed with underaged lolita. Olivia finds out and subsequently plots to poison him with his favourite thing - magic beans. She then ships lolita to sunset valley to start a new life with the sunset valley Goths family. Then in an unfortunate tragedy (like so many in the book) they both (plus Frieda) die in freak accidents in their respective towns. It would surely fit the tone of the book lol.
Ive only ever seen the Sims 4, as I wasn't into the sims when the other games were more popular, and I didn't know that Bella and Mortimer were kids in the Sims 3. They're like little sweethearts- that's so precious-
The thing about Lolita is that it was written in the point of view of a pedophile. There's no real way to sugarcoat that. It's a story of a grown man's sexual and romantic enfatuation with a child, but he writes it in a way to try and justify his actions towards why he did it. For love. It wasn't love. Pedophillia isn't love. The girl the book Lolita was based on was apparently a smart kid who was polite and friendly, but did keep to herself. But when the grown men in her life groomed her, that's when the grown men in her life said she was a great kisser. She was only seen as this hopeless romantic because the grown men in her life convinced her she was in love when she wasn't. She was groomed. That being said, Lolita Goth was young when she died. If she were tied to the book (and it's more likely than not she is given how old the sims team is), it's kind of safe to say she may have died the same way too, the issue is, the sims really doesn't HAVE a death for dying in child labor. Never has. So I'm guessing they had to think of another way to off her which is probably by random lightning strike; which can happen, it's just very rare in the sims.
if we’re being logical i’d chalk it up to an error someone made in not adding her to the family tree. there’s tons of similar errors in other families, so it seems the most likely. but the theories are fun to think about :)
Personally I think most probably Lolita is just a random Sim they created and slapped the surname Goth on to fill the family cemetery. But the theory that she's the time-travelling daughter of Alexander is really neat! Very creepy too. It would explain why she isn't on the family tree: Alexander doesn't exist yet, so she couldn't be! I imagine she tried to come back to warn Mortimer or Bella's family about Bella's disappearance. But if Lolita's buried on the Goth lot, this theory implies that the Goths are behind Bella's disappearance (rather than all of the suspects in The Sims 2) and had to silence her. Which I don't see as simply negating the lore of TS2, i see it as a plot twist that builds on it. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Can you do a video on Princess Cordelia, she has many objects relating to her in the Sims 4 but there’s not really an explanation why? I wonder what theories you could have about her!
I like to think that Gunther may have had a sister when he was much younger and when she died of electrocution, most of not all electronics were taken out of the house. Maybe it happened so long ago Gunther just doesn't remember, or maybe doesn't want to remember because he was so close with her bringing up her memory brings him a lot of pain. Just my theory, no real evidence, just thought it was fun.
Frida Goth: the true asexual Sims 3 rep I always needed. Uninterested in love, constantly grumpy perfectionist, jobless with no skills. It's like she was custom made for me lol
Wow how interesting!! Another great video! The Goth family is definitely one of my favorites for lore - they're kind of the "anything goes" family which is a writers dream...another reason sims 4 is so disappointing because they could have done ANYTHING and just reused a watered down version of the sims 2 family 🙄 I'd never heard the Lolita story but that's a great summary. I'll have to research it more I thought them both dying within weeks of each other was kind of eerie, too
Great video as always! You only made a little mistake when showing the interior of the Goth Manor in Sunset Valley, because the pictures were actually from the Goth House in Moonlight Falls :)
I'm assuming Lolita's name is just a pun on the Gothic Lolita clothing style, but my personal headcanon is that Lolita was Gunther's first wife who passed away; possibly during childbirth, which might explain the old crib in the Goth mansion. IMO the Childish trait is a reference to the idea of Lolita dying too soon.
i still think she could be Alexander's wife and she had an accidental early death, possibly trying to repair the computer on which he wrote his books. it makes sense that the only place it felt right to leave her was in his family's graveyard. she could be flirting with Gunther because of the similarities in their facial structure...? Alexander has an infamously interesting face once you age him up.
I thought Lolita was Olivia's daughter, but not from Samuel. She did not like children, so she could kill her out of jealousy, because this story still refers to the original "Lolita".
Nice Video!!! Im from germany and the theory that lolita = frida, becuase in the german version they have the same name can be messed up cuz in the german version (in every game) is the translation on names always messed up. The names get often a very bad translations for some reason. (for example in the german version of sims 4 is the Goth Family in the game Goths but in the "household bio they have the name "Grusel" (Grusel = Scary))
Same in Polish version. The first names are changed, the last names are often translated really badly. Not to mention MANY other radiculous translation mistakes
9:02 In my savegame, this house was lived by a Vampire (Tristan Van Gould) in the Sims 3 , and also by a Grandmaster Vampire (Countess Elle de Vampiro) in the Sims 4
personally i have two theories, one being that lolita was gunthers girlfriend/wife who died before he met cornelia. that explains the flirting and the lack of appearance on the family tree. it would also explain why gunter and cornelia don't have a great relationship since maybe cornelia believes gunther is still in love with her. but i also like to think that maybe lolita was a child that gunther and cornelia had out of wedlock but that contradicts almost every canon fact so its obviously not true
I have loved the video so far, but I just wanted to say that while your explanation of Lolita Fashion is excellent, it is in no way related to the book of the same name, this is a common misconception and so I am sure it was just a mistake but a lot of people assume this which leads to people believing it's a fetish (which isn't necessarily a bad thing just very different from Lolita which is extremely modest and for some people is an escape from society's pressure to be inherently sexy,)or similar I am pretty sure someone has already said this, but I thought I should say do anyway.
To me when I was playing the sims 1 as kid Bella to me was a witch so I’ve alway seen her as witch and Mortimer as a Warlock cuz they would always be in magic town especially Bella and in the sims 2 I just assumed Mortimer gave up his powers after Bella went missing
All of this timeline stuff makes my head hurt! 🥴 But it hurts so good. I just double checked and there are no Goths in Oasis Landing. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not. If you look at one of the houses in the mining district, there is a Vorn truck in the garage, so maybe it's not a lot in the future. Maybe it is. After all in Star Trek 2009, young Jimmy Kirk is driving his uncle's Corvette, and that's in the 23rd century. So maybe Alexander lived in OL, and went back to before TS3. And maybe THAT'S what caused Emit Relevart's breakdown at "your" house! Somebody get me some Tylenol?
I think the fact that Gunther and Cornelia being in late adulthood (40’s and 50’s) while their only and first son is still a child strongly indicates that Gunther met Cornelia later in life. That pretty much solves the mistery. Lolita is very possible Gunther's first wife.
I assumed that Lolita was possibly an ex-wife of Gunther's. Her traits and lifetime wish are very fun loving, which you might expect from a first love. She died tinkering with electronics, and Gunther remarried afterwards, but chose to focus mostly on work as an escape. This would explain why he isn't doing good at work, since he's only there to avoid seeing the ghost of his first wife. He may have chosen to settle for Cornelia, either just to continue the family line, or just to have company. This would also explain why Gunther and Cornelia only have an okay relationship. Since Gunther works so much, Cornelia chose to become a stay at home mom to prevent Mortimer from being neglected.
Maybe like Frida, Lolita was supposed to have an arranged marriage? And instead of running away she just outright refused, and her family killed her for it? Or maybe the Landgraabs killed the family after the arranged marriages fell through, as they saw it as an insult to them.
This was where my head went too that maybe Lolita was the duster of Frieda and this happened. I was thinking after Frieda ran away maybe they tried to change the marriage with the same landgraab to Lolita but then she died in an electric accident causing the family that was there victor and his wife to remove the electronics from the house.
I think Lolita was Samuel and Olivia's adopted daughter, but Samuel became obsessed with her and Olivia killed her. Then they moved to escape their past.

I think Lolita is just the deceased child of gunther and Cornelia. It would explain why they're technophobes and don't have any electronics in their house, Lolita dying by electrocution, it would be a painful memory. It could explain their bad relationship as that can ruin marriages sometimes. It would also explain why gunther and Cornelia are much older when they had mortimer, a last hope baby.
this is honestly where i thought the video was going
No because Lolita flirts with Gunther when she’s a ghost, so that makes no sense. Unless theres some weird incest going on lol. I think Lolita is Gunthers ex wife and she was also pregnant at the time of her death, explaining the crib in the old room of the house.

Could be that it was an arranged marriage like the one the family was trying to push Frida into, and if that's the case, Gunther's feelings of resentment towards Frida could be a mix of anger that she wasn't willing to bite the bullet for the family like he did, and jealousy that she was strong enough to avoid her arranged marriage
that's an amazing theory
@@thegreenmanofnorwichit sounds like it was an arranged marriage between Gunther and Cornelia. He wanted to have an heir to carry the Goth name.
We know Alexander’s wife
@@Leo9z who?
@@TakingThingsLiterary8902 Cecilia Goth, she was in The Sims 3 on Nintendo Ds
@@Leo9z oooohhh
If so, i mean the 50's.. how we explain the modern packs in the game already? Hope you can catch with my point of view.. :o)

Since Mortimer made the elixir of life as a scientist, Bella was one of the first to try it. That's why Bella is a lot younger then Mortimer.
I personally think that she might be Samuel's daughter with a previous wife, making her Gunther and Frida's cousin.
Wouldnt make sense since Olivia and Lolita are both young adults.
@@misafromthenet maybe Olivia died first
@@francescaicaza5148 Would not make sense that Olivia had a young adult daughter, being a young adult herself and Samuel an Elder marrying Olivia as a young adult.
It's a little funny to me that Olivia Goth has only four traits, like a teen would have 🤨
I tried to listen to Lolita with audible and I couldn't cope with the male voice speaking Humberts desires, I felt too disturbed to continue (especially since I listen in the dark when I go to bed it was extra creepy). To me Lolita Goth is def based on the novel, and Olivia seems to be her aged up no longer going by the nickname
I listened to it as well, and it was traumatic lol
the movie is also disturbing, there is a deleted scene where humbert walks in the room with all the pedos and deviants and they laugh hysterically after their leader is shot
As for the laptops in Gunthers inventory, idk how to explain those so if anyone can put those into context then please do :)
wow i love this theory, sounds pretty spot on to me :)
@@Rhiannzilla thank you so much! It took a lot of my brain power lol
Why is this not higher up, the top comment literally misunderstands the video while this has much more thought into it.
It could be that they got married when she was a teenager and the only way to show that was not give her another personality trait (since the vanilla game doesn't allow adult-teen relationships and it would have been more disturbing)
I feel like the book is somehow involved.
very strange how in the Goth bio from Moonlight Falls it says that Samuel died because of the jellybeans, but it also says that the electronic accident caused 3 deaths. Couldn't have been Samuel, because he was already a ghost. And Lolita died from electrocution, so it could've been her
it said three ghosts not deaths, meaning 1+2
@Rebecca Mason I don't think the meant the fire caused three deaths, I think it's saying the fire brought the total number of deaths to happen around the same time to three
It clearly says the fire made there to be a total of 3 ghosts in the house. So it's the then deceased Samuel and the two ladies who died in the fire.
I remember playing the sims as a 12/13 year old and finding Lolitas grave and then googling her name and being horrified by that book.
In my game, Lolita was Samuel's daughter (since they have the same favourites) and he turned insane after she died.
There is no mention of Olivia having had a child whatsoever. I believe that Lolita is referencing the book/movie as she stated, in the way that Lolita is supposed to be Samuels first love who died and then he gets with a young adult sim who reminds him in age and personality of Lolita. i clicked so fast. i was obsessed with dead sims when i started playing sims and i immediately loved lolita
same here
Here's my theory: The Sunset Valley Goth family bio questions the possibility to raise a young child (Mortimer) next to a cemetery.

2:40 I feel it's ironic Gunther bio says he is not interested in money if he is frugal.
Frida is his niece...
@@misafromthenet she clearly meant Olivia
I always imagined her as Gunther's first wife. They married when young and she died. Gunther and Cornelia were nudged together by their powerful families, and they had Mortimer late in life, satisfying Victor and Gretle's desire for the family line to continue (Samuel is either dead or considered a disgrace, and Frida having decided that she didn't want to marry a Landgraab)
I like the theory that she's Gunther's wife from a previous marriage.
People saying cousin but acknowledging the flirting is just weird. Lol
Well, as a kid I was so surprised BUT super scared that Cornelia Goth had my name. It scared me for some reason, it’s not a really normal name, so seeing it in the sims as a 10 year old… it scared me so bad
Sims4 true crime something I didn’t know I needed😂😂
Sims 3*
I get that Sims base games can be a bit limited on outfits, but Gunther Goth and his wife look like they're in a rock band. Like the Osbournes.
(Did the crib and highchair in the attic once belong to Mortimer or to Lolita's unborn child?)
2: Gunther needed an heir to his fortune, so he married Cornelia (Lolita's opposite) to achieve this.
Hi! I just wanted to say that I hope you have a lovely day/night, you deserve it ❤
Thank you so much! You too! 🥰
Lolita Goth has lived in my head rent free since I was 9 💖 my favorite ghost!!
I've been waiting for you to cover this one!
Hope you enjoyed it! 🥰
the story of lolita goth:
Lolita and Gunther met in a meadow causing them to fall in love.
That’s a good one
Omg the heart shape sunglasses
i really miss the amount of lore and mystery the game had before the sims 4
I think a lot of this is a major stretch-Lolita's childish trait itself could also be a reference to the lolita fashion being very childish, to resist sexualization. If Lolita were related to the Goths, thays family thread wouldn't just disappear-its more likely in my opinion that Lolita is just Gunther's first wife who died, and since the Sims 3 registers death as a divorce (otherwise the living sim wouldn't be able to remarry) she had to be removed from his family tree. The Sims gets dark-but it doesn't get Lolita Book dark!!!
bro whenever you post a video it makes my day!
They're like little sweethearts- that's so precious-
Your voice is soooo soothing. I love this series so much !! You are just exquisite
Thank you for the resume on Lolita, I couldn't read this book because it was just so sick lol
Yeah it was super dark, lol, but I still really liked to hear about it
I wanted to see why people were mentioning it so I researched about it. Makes me uncomfortable, because I was (Sort of) in that situation
if we’re being logical i’d chalk it up to an error someone made in not adding her to the family tree. there’s tons of similar errors in other families, so it seems the most likely. but the theories are fun to think about :)
She has a whole lot in cottage living
You only made a little mistake when showing the interior of the Goth Manor in Sunset Valley, because the pictures were actually from the Goth House in Moonlight Falls :)
yeah lol I noticed that too!
I'm assuming Lolita's name is just a pun on the Gothic Lolita clothing style, but my personal headcanon is that Lolita was Gunther's first wife who passed away; possibly during childbirth, which might explain the old crib in the Goth mansion. IMO the Childish trait is a reference to the idea of Lolita dying too soon.
i love the new style of your editing 😍
i still think she could be Alexander's wife and she had an accidental early death, possibly trying to repair the computer on which he wrote his books. it makes sense that the only place it felt right to leave her was in his family's graveyard. she could be flirting with Gunther because of the similarities in their facial structure...? Alexander has an infamously interesting face once you age him up.
Grateful for your channel and oddly very soothing voice.
Thank you so much 🥰
Now THIS is the kind of lore we need in the sims 4
I wish someone would make a Lolita Goth remake/conversion for the Sims 2. :D She is so cute.
personally i have two theories, one being that lolita was gunthers girlfriend/wife who died before he met cornelia. that explains the flirting and the lack of appearance on the family tree. it would also explain why gunter and cornelia don't have a great relationship since maybe cornelia believes gunther is still in love with her.
but i also like to think that maybe lolita was a child that gunther and cornelia had out of wedlock but that contradicts almost every canon fact so its obviously not true
The commentary, the visuals, the effort
I l o v e your channel 🥺💕
Thank you so much 🥰💕
YEESS!! I been waiting for you to talk about this for so long!! Thank you!!❤❤
I have loved the video so far, but I just wanted to say that while your explanation of Lolita Fashion is excellent, it is in no way related to the book of the same name, this is a common misconception and so I am sure it was just a mistake but a lot of people assume this which leads to people believing it's a fetish (which isn't necessarily a bad thing just very different from Lolita which is extremely modest and for some people is an escape from society's pressure to be inherently sexy,)or similar
I am pretty sure someone has already said this, but I thought I should say do anyway.
Since Gunther works so much, Cornelia chose to become a stay at home mom to prevent Mortimer from being neglected.
your voice is so soothing, love listening
The Goths remind me SO much of the Addams family. 😭😭😭 I kinda want to dress them up as if they were. That would be really cool.
Gunther : The Goth lay back version of Lucius Malfoy.
Yes! I've never been so early! I've waited a lot for this video to come ❤️❤️❤️
