      Pfft are you kidding me? Just look how much outside corner these guys got. Still amazing anyway but I'm a die hard Cubs fan and can admit some of those fastballs over the "outside corner" were off the plate 3 inches. Same with the Clemens game.

    Kerry Wood's game was definitely the most impressive in my mind. He struck out the last five batters after K-ing 15 through only 7.1. And he gave up one hit in a 1-zip game (most of the game until it was 2-0) - one wrong move could've changed the game. Plus he barely a rookie!!

    • @fries5849

    • @bradwurst8141

      jokerhalo1 you can really tell watching this game how he was going to throw his arm out, incredible talent tho

    • @jokerhalo1
      @jokerhalo1 7 лет назад

      yeah. Only if he had a manager who realized that a young 20 something year old should not be throwing over 100 pitches nearly every game. He might have still had arm issues but I feel the worse of his injuries could have been prevented

    • @Tronathon242
      @Tronathon242 6 лет назад

    If anyone here has ever thrown a perfect game in any 'platform.' Around which inning/what number strike do you start to realize that you could possibly throw a perfect game? Because in my mind it's strike 12~16. Also this channel is amazing.

      Clemens used his curve ball, which started high and dropped, just enough to get away with high fastballs. Later in his career he favored a splitter over the curve.

    • @bigidiotdumbstupidguy9329
      @bigidiotdumbstupidguy9329 8 лет назад +1

      I mean Craig Counsell (Diamondbacks second/third baseman) who retired and went on to be the manager for the Brewers. He batted lefty but threw right. So he's pretty even but because of the position he played, his arms are waaaay uneven and his left arm is significantly more muscular and defined than his right, tho both are huge. So It's not really just pitchers. All positions spend time in the gym pre and post game.

    • @shadytnu24
      @shadytnu24 6 лет назад

      El Jayzus Bill James' Game Score rated Kerry's as the best in the history of baseball because he was untouchable that day. He did not walk a batter, he hit one, and only allowed one hit (a roller that could easily have been called an error).
      Sorry, but none of these other 20K performances TOUCHED that level of dominance. Once the Cubs scored in the second, Cubs fans didn't even care about hitting that day. Just get him back out there and let the Kid deal
