Taking apart a dirtbike is a lot of fun but how fast can it be done? Most of the video is in real time except for the tires being dismounted.

I really like the way you spend time cleaning the parts you plan to sell. I think it makes a difference.
Yes, it really does make a huge difference selling clean and well inspected parts.
Been watching you for awhile; finally some what confident on tearing down my project 2003 rm85. Thank you for your videos, your countless hours of work and film and editing ontop of working on the bikes and your company. The information and quality of production you do is amazingly helpful. Thank you from Seattle ✌🏼
Much appreciated!! Thank you so much for watching and happy to hear you enjoy the videos.
Just got in the bathroom gonna be here for 20 minutes 😂
Sladen Finley I do that same shit lmao
Ahahaha hope you enjoyed it
Lmao same here
Two years later I’m sitting on the toilet watching this
Lmao same
Not sick of it, inspired is more like it. 😁 keep it up Cam...
Haha good to hear!
I’m new to this channel, but I really enjoy your vids! Keep up the good work! It’s kinda satisfying watching you pull apart a bike lol
Lawn mower don't care😂😂
Hahaha it'll run on diesel if it came down to it.
Haha what the fuck
meh, rest of that deere will be shot before the engine has too many issues.
@@Eggsr2bcrushed Can't kill a deere
OffroadCanadian yeah exactly that’s why the other engine will never die
No way never get tired of tearing them down vids!!!!!!
Thanks Michael!
i die a little after watching you take apart a completely working bike lol. awesome video, makes me want to take one apart just to give it a shot.
go for it youll learn alot
Dude it's so much fun. Never gets old!
I agree with everyone else, do it. you'll learn so much about 2 strokes and dirt bikes in general, prior to my yz85 I restored I had NEVER wrenched on any bike in my life, only some lawnmowers weedeaters etc etc, but I managed to restore a yz85 from the dirt up, starting with a whole bike, going down to nothing but a frame, and all back together with half being brand new parts, cleaned up the working parts also, I bought the bike for 500, put 500 more into restoring it to basically a brand new bike.. I even got a 100% rebuilt engine top and bottom in brand new condition inside and out for 400$, the other 100 was plastics, everything else was just polished up and restored. but my point before this rant is that 2 strokes can be rebuilt by ANYONE, even the engines are simple... no timing bs to deal with on 85's.
I don't touch bottom ends but I was able to rebuild my top end with 0 knowledge about 2 stroke engines, its just that simple.
I wouldn't consider this a completely working bike though as I watched more of the video haha, imagine running that thing through some whoops.
I LOVE videos like this! You just got yourself a new subscriber man!
Thanks so much Jimmy!
The 10th digit of the VIN is the year code. If you google "model year vin" a chart will come up. It's handy to have around. I have one printed out and hanging up at our shop for quick reference. Thanks for another great video!
Please keep the awesome videos coming !
I really like watching you strip any bike down thanks for techniques and teaching me much appreciated
love these vids, i know this is a 3 yr old vid but lets see how quick u can put one all together!
Excellent video (even though I'm only 2:32 mins in) This is the exact type of video I was looking for. Thanks for making it just for meee!
Thanks!
Great video. Thank you Cameron
i just rebuilt my kx450 from the ground up it was a lot of fun and makes me feel a lot closer with my bike when I ride lol. nice vid!
Haha bike bonding huh. It really is almost as much fun building bikes as riding them. Thanks for watching!
I love your channel, I just want to know how did you learn how to do all this, did you go to school to be a mechanical engineer or something, because I’m very interested on how you know exactly what to do.
I love watching you take bikes apart I never get sick of your videos! Also would you ever do other bike brands like ktm gas gas Husqvarna beta husaberg?
Thanks man!! I've done KTMs before but none of the others. It's not as big of a market for the European makes and they're significantly more expensive.
Love what you do bro you should have your own t.v show
I was wondering how u would sell your parts when u just got started off cause I have a ttr125 that I should take apart cause nobody wants to buy it
I got a 80cc like this just mines a suzuki rm 80 and i have a problem with my coolant one day i was riding it and i noticed it went from full to empty what do you think the problem can be?
Love your vídeos bro
Love your video's
How do you keep track of what bolts and screws go where? Do you have a routine?
If the inventory was there to do variable maintenance, which takes some over head to complete these in a timely manner, I'd be all over it. Working at home on bikes, love it!
Nice methodical approach keeping it simple and straightforward (time is $$$) How do you go about organising parts whilst stripping it down, storage bins or bags then clean and tag / list item?
How much racking and what's your storage setup like to find parts easily ready for shipping? 👍
Thanks Guy! Listings with multiple pieces go into bags, then everything is separated by size/weight/where it came from. For example all the light plastic pieces will go into one bin, then another bin will be heavier steel and aluminum pieces. The bottom end parts will go into another bin, and the top end into the last bin. Larger pieces like forks, wheels, swingarm are hung onto the wall while all the bins are on shelving. This video shows a little of the storage setup:

I like your vids bro 👊🏽🤘🏽
I like the part where you said my lawnmower don't mind. It's funny because my wife bought me a project bike and I'm using the old fuel in my edge trimmer as well.
Great video.
Yeah, they really will run on anything haha. The motors are so low compression that old fuel doesn't really effect it. I appreciate you watching!
Wow.. Thats nice cameron, we have the same motor bike i have kawasaki klx too.. its cool.. im using motor bike always..
Thank you. This great to see, if anyone wants to convert one of these, to an electric motorcycle.
Sick videos man good job! U have a new sub
Thank you so much man!
Finally your back
Yep!! Thanks for watching
You gotta do a video on the funniest ghetto fixes you've seen 🤣
Hey man really awesome video!
I have a question i have a kawasaki 1999 mx 125 b but without a rear break caliper and i dont find anything on the internet so i woundered if not all kawasakis (dirtbikes from 85cc to 250cc) have all the same break settup that i can use on my bike (if this text is not 100% perfect english im sorry but iam from Austria)
Look it online. You’ll find out
yknow watching these videos of people taking apart bike helps me out with mine
Glad you found them helpful!
how long did it take in real time? and how do you keep your parts organized?
How do you know we’re each bolt goes to put back together
Great video I love them👍
Thanks man!!
Now do a video of how long it takes to put one back together
When the back up camera looks better than the main one😂 nice work man
Haha hopefully that's not the case lol.
were do you find these bikes?
Can you put a KX125 2 radiator setup on a KX100 to help keep it running cooler or help cooling in general?
I have not heard of anyone doing that to be honest. But it's entirely possible with custom hoses and the right brackets to mount the radiators.
You tear apart a bike every week😍😍 I think I finally found my channel.
I'm looking for a good impact screwdriver what brand is the one you use? Great video as always!
Thanks Justin! Here is the impact screwdriver I've been using for years now

Ok my bike is having an issue it's putting gas out of carb not putting into engine any help
Cam I need help. Everytime I go riding my fork seals start leaking. I cannot get a bike that doesn’t have oil coming out of the seals. Does anyone know what this could be caused by,
You, sir, have a new subscriber.
Thank you so much!
hey i need a carberater if you got a spare can i have it.
What was the time it took to take it apart? I’m assuming around 2 hours and probably 4 hours to rebuild. If I had it down to the frame I would paint the frame polished aluminum to get it looking sharp. I’ve also liked this polished aluminum frames from 19:32 Honda. Makes them look like race bikes
Great video, but can you fix audio? I think music is way louder than your voice
My bad, didn't notice till upload.
it's not though
Augi58 dude no it's not
Augi58 I
Nah I lowkey see what you mean like compared to when it’s playing music his voice is pretty quite overall
What lower shock bearing?
After watching this I feel so much better about the 2 bikes I own.
What kind of bike do you ride now.
I Love that you have a screw as rear brake pin😂
Yo I'm just wondering how do you organize the parts and bolts so you don't lose them
If I'm putting the bike back together I'll label and separate everything based on what part of the bike it's from.
Increíble amigo , 😅😅😅
If only I could take my bike apart this fast!
Just dropped episode 2 and I'm like 25 percent done 🤣
So it's not damaging in any way to run 2-stroke fuel in a 4-stroke engine?
Nope, not at all. It's just extra oil.
Should i drain the fuel tank before removing it or does it now matter
were does he get these bikes from?
i love that bolt for the brake lever lol
Any kx85 rebuild videos ?
Is it a 2 or a 4 takt?
I love watching bike teardowns
Appreciate you checking out the video!
For how much did you picked it up??
I'm new to this channel and saw this video in recommended, what's it about? Like what do you do
Thanks! I sell used parts through my website, so this bike is being torn down to be sold in parts. The past videos explain how the business works exactly.
I've been trying to take apart my back tire and the axel won't come out, but it lets me spin it around and gives me the impression that it's loose but when I try to pull it out it's stuck, tried forcing it out with a hammer but you can only go so far until it comes to the point where you have to pull it out from the other side. PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!
When you find bad shock linkage bushings and bearings, do you sell the core as is, toss, or put new bearings in?
I always just toss out the linkage if the bearings are destroyed. Once in a while on higher end bikes I'll sell them as a core.
On my 1995 yz250 it's like a $400 part new that I think is discontinued. Very valuable even with bad bushings.
that was a really good bike.. I would love to have it..
I'm new here, so forgive me, but how the hell do you keep track of what bolts and washers go where?
Hey welcome! All the hardware just goes into a bag on bikes that I'm parting out. On bikes I put back together it organize by where they came from, but most it it's memory.
It never ceases to amaze me how people don’t take very well care of their bikes 😂!
How often do you tear apart bike to put them up on the website?
I do a bike every other week.
Is this an am6 bike?
that bolt for a brake pedal though lmao. classy
Finally I've been waiting to order more kx parts but you haven't gotten a kx 85 in a while. Finally I've been waiting a month to rebuild this thing😂😩
Should have a ton of KX85 parts up on the site soon! I'll keep you posted.
Cameron Niemela ok thanks man and keep up the good woek
@@marshaledmondson2970 how’d it go?
Where do you get your blue gloves?
amzn.to/2q9inpc
I do the exact opposite as you do I try my best to snag em up before the parts guys get them fix them up and sell them at a reasonable price to get people in the sport everyone can't afford a new bike that's why the sport is dying out quick between the cost and video games we are doomed lol !! Much respect though we all need parts too and many are discontinued used is the only good option sometimes .
That's an awesome thing you have going on! You are right though, the sport is so expensive and it's taken a big hit the last few years. Good on you man!
I'd love if you did a engine tear down on a KTM 85 SX 2006 model or any KTM 85 SX that's the bike I have and I've made it my project bike to be my first bike to tear down and completely rebuild the engine
i wouldn't worry about the exhaust being bent the way it is most of them end up like that after being droped once or twice at least on the kx85s and 100s
Nice video
Much thanks!!
No pressure wash prior to teardown?
Finally kx85 parts been wanting a kickstarter for so long
Kick starter will be up on the website tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.
www.revivemotoparts.com/products/1999-2018-kawasaki-kx80-kx85-kx100-kick-start-lever
I got that sticker on the back fender. And that bike came all the way from England if it has that sticker
Why didnt you wash it before dissasemble?
That are some awesome needle bearings, you can still use them at least for 2 yrs :D 13:45
Oh yeah! Just needs a little wd40 haha
I would probably go with water instead of wd-40 :'D
Would love to see a video where you clean the kx 85 parts. Or what happens to them in general :) greetings from Germany
Thanks so much for watching Jenlissa! This video goes over how I clean the parts:
ruclips.net/video/oeUN2QOiUuQ/видео.html
The parts then go up for sale on my website.
Yeah I´ve seen this one already, really nice :). But I mean if there´s a separate Video of kx 85 parts getting cleaned now that you took apart the kx... that would be awesome!
Oh nice, I don't have a video of cleaning the KX85 parts however.
Saw the sticker. What part of Idaho you from? I'm from Boise
I'm from Spokane, WA, not too far from Boise.
I live in outside.Hard togo to the city for maintenance. It useful to me.l can do it by mysel.I might clear now. Have a good thing.Thank
That's so cool! Glad I can help out.
Hey Cameron I have a question for you, why don't you part out KTMs?
There is coolant in my oil any idea how I can stop that thanks same year and model as that
Darryl Shankey check seals for coolant
Sounds like your water pump seals are bad.
Cameron Niemela could u make a video about checking water pump seal as I wouldn't really no where to look etc
If I get the chance to film a video on that I definitely will.
Cameron Niemela thanks man
can you shipping the part to indonesia?
Yes, I do ship to Indonesia! Once you add the part to the shopping cart the shipping prices will be calculated.
Bro i have a 98 kx89 and they are sweet
How much you want for that filter?
Haha I'll pay you $20 to come and get it lol
Might foul a plug, that's about it.
It's honestly astounding and slightly depressing to me that people pay the money they pay to acquire these marvels of engineering and then neglect and allow them to get into this kind of condition.
However, It's also cool because awesome, knowledgeable people get to take them apart and give them new life and in your case even go the extra length to be even more of an epic human being and make concise, informative and educational content from it that ultimately contributes to people learning more about the many nuances of bikes and their engineering pitfalls when not taken care of properly.
Thank you!
How about washing bike just after start check?
Yeah I should've washed this bike before teardown. It was pretty nasty
Im doing a 05 kx100 right now
How do you keep track of bolts?
On this bike, it's being sold in parts so the bolts are put into a bag and sold as well.
Cameron Niemela oh righto, cause i always get confused with some bolts some being longer and some shorter and i don't strip it down to the degree you do.
3:10-19:31=16:12 minutes to take apart a dirt bike
me: Drops mic and still watches the whole video
Haha you got it man!
It looks like you have been doing that type of work for awhile.
How do I find out how old my crf150 is please
Google the VIN number and it will give you a year.
10th digit of vin designates year.
