The copper pipe is brilliant, makes an excellent mandrel, and is cost effective, and really won't ever wear out. I bought a galvanized steel plate for hammering on. Excited to see the rest of this tutorial. Loving it so far.

I use my rolling mill it don't have hammer marks that way and I can also adjust the amount of flattening and it is even all through.
