    ABOUT US:
We moved from the city to the country in 2020, right before Covid hit. So much has happened since then. We now have horses (including Duke, AKA Johnny, from Day by Day Vlogs), goats, chickens, peacocks, guinea fowl, bunnies, a livestock guardian dog and house dogs that are adjusting to country living. We have undertaken many renovations (both inside and outside), love sharing tips on how to repurpose items or do things on a budget, and are always looking for the next DIY project. We started taking videos for family and friends to keep them updated on our journey as we navigate trading in city life for life on the farm... and decided others may be interested as well. So here we are on RUclips, and learning the in's and out's slowly but surely.
We hope to produce video content that is entertaining (who doesn't love seeing horses and cute animals), allows you to follow our horse journey and life on the farm, provides you with some inspiration and ideas of things you can try in your own life, and hopefully gives you some helpful information.
If you or someone you know is interested in Horses, Goats, Bunnies, Chicken & Guinea Fowl, Livestock Guardian Dogs, DIY Projects, Before and After Home/ Garden/ Barn Makeovers, Tips/ Tricks/ Hacks, Country Living or Life on the Farm, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, LIKE and hit the NOTIFICATION BELL so you never miss new videos being posted.

I know… it’s hard for us to remember how he was when he first came because he is a totally different dog now. He is a goofy, energetic, cuddly, happy boy now, with not a care in the world. We can’t even imagine our home without him now! It breaks my heart to think of the first two years of his life and what he suffered, but I am so glad he found his way to our family, where he will only know love for the rest of his life ❤️.

Back in the day, (70’s and 80’s) you could use canary. White was the higher levels. Can’t ride any more. That was my purpose in life. 😢 I had trouble with prices back then. 🤷‍♀️ I always loved barn work, feeding, stalls, grooming, and training myself and horses more than actual showing. Good luck!

I remember the canary and rust colored breeches! I rode back in the 70's,80's and 90's.

I’m sorry to hear you aren’t able to ride anymore. Since you loved working with horses on the ground, maybe there is a barn you can volunteer at near you so you can still do what you love.

Kate did an amazing job at her lesson!! She really did!
2 things to work on…..jumping a cross rail should be a fluid motion. So yes, while you can still approach it at a trot, you want to actually jump the fence, not trot over it. After the fence, you can canter away, or come back to a trot. It is easier to encourage your horse to jump the fence if your trot is moving forward, yet controlled.
#2…..on just a couple fences, Kate didn’t hold her position over the fence long enough. I am talking hold it for maybe 1-2 more seconds.
Kate has such a lovely natural riding presentation, both on the flat and over fences!😍😍

Thanks 😊. Kate was just schooling Stevie on the cross rails for Julia at the show (and Julia was doing walk, trot, cross rails), so she didn’t want her cantering. Stevie was unimpressed about the cross rails, because she likes to jump with Kate 🤣.

I only use white breaches. I have alot of them. After every competition, Eventing or shows, they get washed immediately. And put back in the lory. I always have at least 2 extra pairs in the lory incase. I am tall and slender too and find buying high quality clothing is so much better actually value for money.

I am a clearance rack kind of girl… the better the sale, the more I love it. Most of my clothes were under $10 🤣. However, Kate usually has to buy her clothes from specialty clothing stores because of the length of her legs… stores that cater to tall people that don’t fit in clothes from the “tall” section in regular stores. We unfortunately have to spend a fortune on them, but they are good quality and last. So I totally agree with you.

I really love what Kate ride. I just got ride of all my kids show stuff. I could have ship it all to you. I hung on to all these years hoping for grandchildren but not lucky enough. Check with other parents that show they my possibly have something. Good luck at the show. ❤

Awe, thanks. I always look at second hand first, but because of Kate’s height and her long legs, it is really hard to find clothes that fit her. We were able to do second hand for Julia though and saved so much money!

How long does it take to drive to both of the lesson barns?? My boarding/lesson barn when I was a Jr. rider (back in the 70’s) was about 40 min away from where I lived. Everyday the final 2 years of high school when I had my license, that last bell rang and I would race to the girl’s restroom and change from my uniform into my riding clothes. I would then hop into Little Yellow (my yellow VW Karmann Ghia) and off I went!! Those were some of my best memories ever!!

I bet they are fun memories ❤️. Yes, we unfortunately have to drive far to lessons as well. Before we moved, our lesson barn was 5 minutes away… that was so nice.
