Hello. I know this video is pretty old now so idk if itll get the feedback im looking for, but is it possible to start a youtube channel for dated games? I have a ton of games from the early to mid 2000s era that are on ps2, to Gamecube. I was thinking about making lets plays on tons of my old childhood classics like sly cooper and metroid prime etc. would something like that fly?
The hardest thing as a small youtuber is after making a video that you actually like, seeing that it is receiving NO VIEWS and no subs or likes. I bet all small youtubers can relate.
I started my journey in December of 2019! I was diagnosed with a condition called fibromyalgia, which caused me to be ejected from dental surgery school. I lost a lot of my abilities... and reached back to my love of video games while I grieved. I grew up on Zelda, Pokemon, and Starfox, and started making videos. Now, I've uploaded over 530 videos to my channel. I do fall prey to something mentioned in the video- I have a love of story rich games, and don't want to nail down to a single game. I want to create a space where someone can find mostly friendly content and company for when they need it. I hope that I can move towards becoming a RUclips partner.
Your channel seems to have a very pleasant atmosphere. I'm sure that's definitely been a big plus for your current growth. Good luck to you and your journey to becoming a RUclips partner!
Started our channel in 2015 and made it a gaming channel just 4 months ago... I strongly wish that everyone reaches their goals on their YT channel. Good luck to all us youtubers. Small or beginners alike. 😊

I love the idea of just playing one game and using the other games to unwind and refresh your creative thoughts! Whatever doesn't fit in your niche, you can always enjoy on the side and it's healthy to have some things on the side not work related.

I think that seeing your own channel as a business helps a lot in growing since RUclips is like a real market in how it behaves. My previous gaming channel was too generic and made gameplays only, I realized I had to branch out of that and start looking for demand that wasn’t being met. I now have 2K subscribers with 11 videos, of course they’re not perfect but I made the BEST content I could make in each time period. I’ve improved substantially and am monetized now that I focus on quality, I’m also working on growing this channel side by side with another one in English (My channel is in Spanish). I think a good piece of advise is to make videos because you think it is fun and entertaining for YOU. I think it’s better to have content creators that are genuine and are being themselves as opposed to pandering to what’s popular. This. I don't do it for monies, I do it because it's fun and you learn things. Most of the successful videos I've seen are honestly myopic, reactionary fanboy garbage rife with lies and propaganda and nonsense and I don't see how people honestly watch that content.

I agree about staying focused. I plan on making a channel with reviews, though. What would the advice be for someone's goal is to talk about a different game after a few videos on one particular game?
@@GrizzneyGames If your a channel about reviewing, stay on games that are around your niche/genre. For example, if you like reviewing rpg games then stay reviewing them for a while until you build up a community. Then you can branch out to more similar games. However, doing reviews on games could get you burnt out quickly so I suggest you make the best quality videos on a game that you have experienced for a while and so you would have something more meaningful to say to your audience. And everyone values that. As long as you know what to bring to your community, you will no doubt earn their respect.

I feel like gaming is such a hard niche to grow in, especially nowadays. What we don't need is subscribers, we need views and then the subs will eventually come. We need to stand out, bring something others don't and then with a bit of persistence and patience we will succeed 😊

@@Nano1Chaparro well, the reason i haven’t been posting is mainly because it’s a little hard to find out what people are interested in. and why i don’t have thumbnails is, because i don’t really know how to make thumbnails.

I joined in 2020 I was doing gacha and I was a very cringey person back then but I realized that it doesn't matter if they care or don't care about you it matters that they care about the video and it doesn't matter how many subscribers you have my goal is 100 and I never think I can do that so I told myself "Just try to be positive" and I couldn't believe I reached 43 subscribers and I started to compare myself to others and then I was feeling very very VERY negative and I just quit and then about a month ago I realized my views were going down and I was to worried about that then actually worrying about what to post and when to post and then tried to get inspiration from other gacha tubers and realized that memes were popular and then I said "I'm horrible at tweening and editing so if its horrible that won't get me anywhere" I was too worried about other things than actually just posting so I have been doing research on Google and RUclips to see how to be sure how to keep on track of things. But I'm doing well I hope you are too! I'll pray so you will grow.

This. I don't do it for monies, I do it because it's fun and you learn things. Most of the successful videos I've seen are honestly myopic, reactionary fanboy garbage rife with lies and propaganda and nonsense and I don't see how people honestly watch that content.
As someone that started a gaming channel a few months ago, coming across this video was what I needed. Thank you!
Thank you for making this. Good luck everyone, I hope everyone finds an audience of their own.
Just a quick tip, if your planning on making it a more family friendly channel post more/better content between the months of July and August
Started in quarantine as a joke but now I'm invested.Good Luck to who ever read this.
#1 Tip from me, DON'T LISTEN TO THE HATERS.

Sorry to hear about your job. You seem to have a great attitude despite that, so best of luck to you!

Hey my friend!!! I just posted my hitman video. I stayed up till 12:13 editing it. If you can see it and give me feedback that would be awesome. Thanks!!!
😂 so funny this video posted today. Right now as I’m typing this, my first video is currently uploading to my gaming channel.
Let's Go!!!! What is the video about?
@@vidIQ It’s unboxing the Xbox series X. The PS5 unboxing goes up next Monday. My plan is too play NBA 2K on PS5 and COD on Xbox SX and upload on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s and see how it goes. Monday’s are for game related unboxing’s.
Also, not this channel. I created one just for gaming.
Anyone want to help me out with my channel need some decent content but not good at editing, PLEASE HELLLLP MEEEEE!!!!

To all gaming channels - 1:14 - Very important advice :)
Trying to do my best in youtubing, videos and channel got deleted for some reasons. I will continue again in 2-3 days. I feel motivated again after watching this vid. Thank you.
Literally just watched the other video earlier today lol 😂
Gonna make a live stream today and if u could consider stopping by to watch it.

I feel like gaming is such a hard niche to grow in, especially nowadays. What we don't need is subscribers, we need views and then the subs will eventually come. We need to stand out, bring something others don't and then with a bit of persistence and patience we will succeed 😊
It’s definitely not easy but that’s why you should apply these tips

@@2h_86bro you’re not trying hard enough. you don't have thumbnails and you;re not posting a lot. Don’t except to just blow up because you want to.
@@Nano1Chaparro well, the reason i haven’t been posting is mainly because it’s a little hard to find out what people are interested in. and why i don’t have thumbnails is, because i don’t really know how to make thumbnails.

Who else here has less than 1,000 subs? I’m curious about how long that takes.... reply with how long you’ve been at this!🤩
I joined in 2020 I was doing gacha and I was a very cringey person back then but I realized that it doesn't matter if they care or don't care about you it matters that they care about the video and it doesn't matter how many subscribers you have my goal is 100 and I never think I can do that so I told myself "Just try to be positive" and I couldn't believe I reached 43 subscribers and I started to compare myself to others and then I was feeling very very VERY negative and I just quit and then about a month ago I realized my views were going down and I was to worried about that then actually worrying about what to post and when to post and then tried to get inspiration from other gacha tubers and realized that memes were popular and then I said "I'm horrible at tweening and editing so if its horrible that won't get me anywhere" I was too worried about other things than actually just posting so I have been doing research on Google and RUclips to see how to be sure how to keep on track of things. But I'm doing well I hope you are too! I'll pray so you will grow.
I made this channel years ago (2009) and I'm back on it ... just started to do live streams on my channel about a month ago, I'm over 600 subs now
I started my channel on January 11 2019. I uploaded my first video on 24 November 2020, but I haven't gotten as many views since the first. I have 12 subs rn...
Its hard to get much views

@@noobgamerin5586 Thank you so much! After this video I am excited to say after applying some of these practices, I've gained 3 new subs, and my views have gone up from 15 on average to 30~
It’s always tough when you finish a nice thumbnail for the video, try to upload as much as you can, and just be active but no one wants to watch you. :( but! There is still hope and always will be just can’t give up and to whoever reads this, don’t give up even if it’s a tough time for you!
