Wow, I came across your channel by chance because of I'm Still Here. Really enjoying your reviews. I was very happy for Pamela in this film. I think she was very affected by SOS Malibu (Baywatch) and by controversies in her personal life. But seeing the trailer for this film, it looks like she acted really well! You can see that the film addresses the issue of unemployment in some professions. Looking forward to this film arriving in Brazil!
Thanks for checking out some of my other reviews. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think about this film. I really enjoyed it as you can probably tell 😊
I really cannot wait to see this film. I’ve been following a lot of the press on social media and on RUclips and they’ve all raved about how fantastic Pamela Anderson is in this film. Pamela also mentioned that this was originally written as a play/theatre piece then it was changed to a screen play. Gia Coppola chased her down to offer her this role and as Pamela doesn’t have an agent at present, she went to her previous management to get her contact details. That management turned her away saying she wouldn’t be interested. She then finally got I contact with Pamela and asked her to read the script and Pamela said something like “I need to play this part” She also mentioned film was shot in only 18days!! Anyways, your review has me wanting to see the film even more now. Tickets booked for an advance screening in Melbourne next month (Jan 2025) So excited!
Great review! I'm excited to see this film. Having grown up with Pamela Anderson on my TV screen ( I was a teenager when Baywatch first aired), I'm so happy to witness her career renaissance.
I thought there was too much time spent on the mother/daughter and not enough about what happened to Shelly once she learned the show was closing. I would have liked to have seen her try to start over, like trying to get a job at a casino gift shop - or something, but the character didn't even try - she was in denial. I really would have felt more for this character if she had tried to get but had been turned down for several "regular" jobs because of her lack of skills, but I didn't feel sorry for the character or even care about her future. There was very little subtext in this film.
I can see that and you bring up a good point about what skills she would have now without the show. It might not be in that burlesque/circus style show but I do wonder what her life was beyond the end of the film. I guess I enjoyed the openness of possibility of her world, especially after that final dance performance. Makes for a great post-screening convo

Yeah, well done- it was moving and sad, both complex and simple at the same time. Pamela was amazing, the whole cast was great.

To a women pick out of an audience to this - Kudos. Great work.
Thanks so much!
I got dizzy at the start of the movie because of the hand film.
I was definitely a bit queasy in the first ten minutes haha
When I saw the trailer it has that showgirls vibes
It’s very different though. Hope you enjoy it!
Can‘t wait to see it!!!

She learned how to act?
She could always act, she just found a role to magnify her talents
So much like Marilyn nobody could see past her body. She always wanted to act.
I really hope she sweeps in and wins best actress
Pam can act.
Well, you know what they say: Those who can't... critique. LOL!
