  • When I first got my bike I tried fitting a Givi TankLock ring (model BF22) to it but found that when it was fitted the petrol cap remained loose even when closed and locked!
My bike had to go back to the shop for some work and I received an identical S1000R as a courtesy bike. This wasn't one of my better ideas - but - I wanted some answers and so I fitted my tank ring to the courtesy bike. Although you don't get to see it on the bike on video, it fitted like a glove! Maybe I did something wrong the first time....can I work out what is going on?
(Spoiler - the lead up to the main discovery is at 06:05)
I recorded most of this video and edited it over one afternoon/evening because I haven't got the time or computer to get it out over the next week or so. It's a bit rough and ready. I also noticed how aggravated I sound at times on this video... that's something I should work on! 😀
The music in the background is created/performed by myself either with my brother or with friends.

i've used the same givi bag for years, when i got my S1000R i had this same issue. Then one of the bolt parts that sits down in the tank broke, so i bought another. Never could get mine to let out this slack, same deal you have. I've just said hell with it for now.

I feel your frustration.... it was a shock to find that the fuel cap fitted properly on one S1KR and not another once I added the mounting bracket. To be honest the little bits of black tape are still on the bike - the fuel cap still fits fine I forgot all about them!

@@RikkyTang damn well if you forgot about it it must've held together!!! I might end up doing it. I hate the look of the mount w/o a bag, so i may just wait til next time i trip!
