Because of my past, I’ve always been a big time people pleaser. It’s caused me so much mental damage. When I met my partner I could see he was being horribly treated by his ‘best friend’. He was the kindest person I had ever met in my life and seeing his kindness abused killed me. It turned out he was feeling the same way about how people treated me. 4 years on we’re happily engaged and we make sure all our love is directed to people that deserve it ☺️ When we became friends we called it ‘team anti-doormat’. Because we vowed to not let the other be walked all over like a doormat ever again x

I love the music video and how it compares how he’s feeling to Detroit. (Like finding inner beauty, everyone has a story, we all struggle sometimes in life etc.) BUT the video doesn’t have the 3rd verse……I recommend listening to the song first, then watching the video :)
