Hi Nikki- I'm 67 yrs old and I come from a long line of women who sewed and did fibre arts of many kinds. I myself sew, quilt, do handwork ie embroidery, punch needle, wool penny rugs. But I have to tell you for a lady who worked out all these techniques by yourself your projects are pretty amazing. Well Done. PS: If I ever get stranded on a desert island I hope you are with me. With your ingenuity and creativity, I might just have a good chance of survival. LOL.
Thank you so much! I have always said that if it were possible to get degrees from all the things you can learn on RUclips, I would have so many plaques on my wall. There are so many good teachers here, I learn from them and am inspired by them all the time! I admire greatly what others can do as well! And if we're ever on a dessert island together, I don't know how long we would last, but the time we did have would be decorated fantastically!!!! Lol 😊💜💜💜
WOW !!!!!! Just came across your channel & subscribed 😊 I am in total awe of your needle books, you are amazing !!!!! I watched it 3 times, I couldn't get enough of them !!!! TFS 😊 Greetings from OZ 🇦🇺
I don't usually comment on all the interesting posts I watch, but yours stood so far out from the others that I had to say that you really did a first rate job! thank you!
Hi Nikki. Wow! You did a great job on these needle books! I like how you incorporated both the needle books and the journal and sewing ephemera into it all.
I love this idea. It is very convenient to have a place while you are quilting or hand sewing to write notes or things that went on during your project.
Could you possibly do a video of how you printed on fabric? I love so, so many ideas you have incorporated in your books. Am making a vintage needle book and will use so many of these ideas. Thank you for sharing❤
Hi Nikki! I'm Angela from Perú. I just loved your Needlebooks; just don't know how many years have passed but wanted to tell you, you made me take a trip to Memori Lane to when I sat in front of my grandma (I'm a leftie) and learned to sew and crochet looking at her doing it.She was the one that gave me my love to needles, fabric, pins and threads, and I still do it. I have seen you have printed in fabric, and would like to ask you what you used to do it. Your video has made me want to do my needle book and I would love to be able to print some pictures of my grandma and put them in it. Thank you in advance, and have a great and blessed day!
Girl you blow my mind...these needle books are fabulous!!!! Your ideas are endless and I so appreciate that you share them with us!!!! Thank you my friend! Hugs!!!!
@@MusingsbyNikkiAdegun Hey Nikki I made a needle book to day for a friend's Christmas present and you are correct-a-mundo it was so much fun!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!
The best needle cases I have seen, and I have been looking at all handmade ones for over a week! I would not be able to let anyone have all those lovely graphics and ephemera, the printed fabrics are delightful, I would have to keep all those beautiful needle cases for myself! You are one very talented lady. I don’t know which is my favourite, I love them all. I have subbed.
Gracie, I do sleep, but not well most days, LOL. I love dreaming up new things, and constantly have things swirling around in my head. I have 100 more ideas than I'll ever get to in my lifetime! 💜
Have to say I enjoyed watching & seeing your talent displayed absolutely stunting! Took be back to vintage days priceless! what I would give to have a vintage needle case with the mini inside , how does somone print the insert? Would a printer do the same ? Are you still making them ? add to my cart pls lol
New subscriber. These are really pretty. I have a fall themed sew day with a couple of friends coming up think I’ll make a needle case. Do you have a video about printing on fabric? I loved how you did that with the vintage ladies!
These are fantastic Nikki, great job. You might have a quilters blood in you now !! ;) So many elements to look at ! You should be so proud of yourself, you did a awesome job !
Thanks for the awesome ephemera kits! You have sourced some really fun things to use! ...and who knows, maybe other quilty projects to come? So. Many. Ideas. Always.
Wow - seriously impressive! These are beautiful! So much work and lots of lovely hidey-holes and bits and bobs! Yeah - you go ahead and be proud!! Keep getting well.
Deborah, I'm so glad you found your way to this little crafty corner of the world. It is such a great, inspiring and friendly group of artists, I find it truly magical! And the work some people do is truly incredible! Glad you're here, thanks for watching my videos! Let me know if you even have any questions! 😊💜
Hi Nikki. I know this is an older video but I have been working on a needle book and this popped up. You did an amazing job on these books! Puts my little simple book to shame. 🙃. I’m curious to know, what fabric did you make the pages out of? You say felt, but I’m wondering if it’s wool felt, and where you found it. Also, what did you make the sachets of lavender out of? Thanks for showing these works of art.
Hi Martha! The felt was mostly stuff I had in my stash from long ago when I made a TON of Christmas stockings for a craft sale and family. I'm going to guess some is wool felt (even older, from my grandma) and some I probably got at Michaels or Joann. The sachets I usually make from cutting down and sewing around coffee filters or cold brew coffee bags. It allows the lovely smell to come through. I hope this helps. Thanks for your lovely words! Have fun making yours! ❤️
@@MusingsbyNikkiAdegun ah, thanks so much Nikki. I’m envious because real felt is SO hard to find, and not cheap. I don’t love the polyester felt much. They are really all so beautiful! Thanks for taking the time to respond. Take care!
Hullo! I followed a tutorial I saw on how to prepare fabric to print on. The tricks are: 1) Use a calico or muslin type fabric that has been ironed very flat. 2) Use freezer paper that has the shiny/waxed side on one side. 3) Iron the fabric to the shiny side of the freezer paper using a medium heat setting on your iron, no steam. Make sure it is thoroughly fixed to the paper. 4) Cut the fabric/paper to the size that fits your printer. I cut mine to 8.5 x 11. 5) Re-iron the cut pieces, especially the edge that will lead into your printer. 6) Use an INK JET printer to print basically whatever you want to! If you have a back door/specialty paper feeder tray I'd use that as it won't bend the paper as much, but it went through mine just fine!
Your sewing journals are just precious and so lovely. I tried to find Stacy Stories on Esty and could not find her at all. Could you possibly put a link to her shop so I can check it out. I checked out all the rest and found good things. : ) I am getting ready to make a sewing journal and want to find all the ephemera for it now so I can get it printed out. Thanks Nikki for any help you can give...by the way my granddaughters name is Nikki. Have a wonderful coming week. : )
Hi Joey, I've added the links to the shops in my description box. I've used a few of Stacie's kits and I really like them! Have fun making your sewing book! 💜💜💜
