I have done altered books for about 15+ years. I think this is a good idea for beginners and your cover is beautiful! Your page tags are so creative. I still pull pages and gesso when I must. SO tedious! I love your book!
Thank you Karin for your kind words. I wanted something that wasn't too complicated and didn't want to spend too much on supplies. It's a good beginners journal. Hoping to explore with gesso one day 😊❤️
This is my new fave inspirational for journaling. I love how she actually creative with upcycling and diy, and frugal ideas we all can afford those digital downloads get expensive fast!
I really enjoy your channel, your enthusiasm for experimenting and using upcycle products. Its encouraging us to just have a go and have fun and enjoyment in the process. I have created journals a few different ways, I have created some like you have with this book, ones where I have taken the book out and used the cover and then made signatures for the book and at the moment I am working on a altered book I found in a op shop . It is a My Story Book , so has pages for you to fill in on your family history etc. Someone had already started to fill in some of the pages. So what I decided to do was use Scrapbook papers and scraps to cover the pages and decorated and then documented Mothers Day at Mayfield Gardens for my Granddaughter, once I had done that I have used the rest of the pages to document things about me for her to have when I am not here anymore. I am really happy with how it has turned out. Sorrry for the long reply
Thank you Dolly for your kind words. Glad you are creating in different ways and trying to see what works. It's the best way to learn I find. It must be so amazing to do a family history book. Nice to look back at fond memories. Your granddaughter is blessed to have your creation as a gift 🎁. Keep creating. Enjoy 😍 the process
LOVED this, so inspiring!! And love the house pages & tabbed pages too 😊 thanks for your encouraging videos. I always enjoy them because i dont feel overwhelmed watching them. Your patience & gentleness is so appreciated. ❤❤
You will have so much fun making an altered book with this large tome. I saw a utube, can't remember the name, I will have a look and let you know which one I thought was very easy. Posting Happy Mail this week to you.
I started an altered book in January. I was able to find the middle of a signature, snip the threads, then take the whole signature out. The first and last pages were lightly glued to the other signatures but was easy to remove. I did that to a couple signatures in the book
Love what you did with your altered book!! I have several books that I want to alter … thank you for the ideas! 💡 What did you decide to do with the Rome book? I will be back to rewatch this video, and I am looking forward to more of your videos. Big Like number 163 👍 🌹
Thank you for your kind words. I haven't done anything with the Rome Book yet, still undecided and sitting on my shelf but have just completed this Altered book. Will do a flip through soon 🙂
Great video and you did an excellent job on your altered book. I really like the idea of skipping pages so you don't have to take out pages. As to the ROME book? If you don't want to make an altered book that thick, you could just take the pages out and use them in other journals. Especially since it's full of images you could use the images in many other journals. Then just keep the cover and later on when you feel more confident in making that big of a book with multiple signatures you can use that?
Thank you Michelle. I haven't started on the Rome one but got another smaller book to use paint on. I have a few videos here. I will be brave one day to do something with it. It looks good on my shelf 🙂 ruclips.net/video/tQghqW6Y2co/видео.html
this is exactly what i needed to see!!! i was trying to conceptualise my altered book and i think you just answered it! I can't wait to start, i am going to RIGHT NOW!! THANK YOU 💘
I'd come here to ask the same thing what was the name and author of the watercolor book. It sounds like a great educational book for a beginner like me.

Thank you Justine 😊
Love this!
Thank you 😊
Love it!
Thank you Michelle 🙂
Love your altered book, you could also do lots of stamping on the pages and fold some of the pages to make hidden pockets, saw this also on a utube.
Thank you Debbie. I am sure I can add lots to it. That big book looks 'scary' though. Let's see how I go!

I might need to look at that option. Thank you for your suggestion and for watching ❤
New subscriber! Absolutely love your channel.
Welcome!!!! Thank you 🙏❤️😍
You gave me the inspiration to make an altered book myself. All of your videos are inspiring. So glad I found your channel. 💕
So glad to have you. It was a very fun project. Just get a small book for starters. 🙂

Yes it's a great idea to remove the pages for something else. Big books seem very daunting, that's why I love the A6! Thanks for your suggestion.
This was good. I like this way of doing an altered book. Will do one in the future
Thank you. Glad you are going to make one the future. It's a fun project 😍
You did a great job!! You should start on the Rome book!! 📕 or pick another small book!! Thx you!!
Thank you Michelle. I haven't started on the Rome one but got another smaller book to use paint on. I have a few videos here. I will be brave one day to do something with it. It looks good on my shelf 🙂

Thank you 😊
❤ the Rome book! I would not use it to make an altered journal!!
No plans at the moment. It's sitting on my shelf. It looks good there.
I love this. Great job. Which book are you following for painting?
What is the book that you are referring to? TFS.
