It was great to see this busy scene of many trains and locomotives. I think the wooden track ties can have a long life as they are hardwood and very dense, therefore they do not rot in the same way that softwood does. No doubt the concrete track ties will be good in places where the track gets a lot of use. The men are very quick and efficient at dealing with the problems with the track and we are very grateful to them for their work. Thank you, Mr. Arif for this very interesting video.

If you use a truck, the truck can collapse/get stuck in mud. By using a sugar cane train which has a temporary track, you can enter the sugar cane fields to pass by carts and small/light locomotives which of course are much lighter in weight than trucks. The tracks that those operations worked with were often very rickety, frequently went up steep grades and were often only temporary. In order to navigate those rough tracks, geared steam locomotives such as the Shay and Climax types were used. These sugarcane lines would be the perfect playground for a small, narrow gauge Shay type steamer.

The train tracks must have ties, otherwise where would they stick the rail spikes. If there are no ties, the rails will definitely collapse when a carriage passes, let alone a locomotive. in the video you can see the ties, maybe you don't see the video, only the video cover. Sistem relnya memang harus dirawat,meskipun dlm setahun cuma dipakai beberapa bulan .Kecepatan membawa tebu ke pabrik bisa mempengaruhi rendemen.
