Just like the both of you; taking our first Celebrity cruise in September out of Barcelona & was wondering about this older ship. Thank you for touching on every subject needed. Liked & subscribed.
Good video. You really give a lot of useful information. One thing though is why is the ship constantly referred to as "older"? It's from 2009. What type of hotel or other product do we use that was built in 2009 is referred to as older? I think the cruise industry doesn't do itself a favor by making so many new ships so often. It's like people expect ships to be newer than they do resorts, hotels, and a lot of other hospitality venues.
Completely agree! I think ships get updated/refurbed less often than hotels simply due to the need for dry dock and loss of sailing time and revenue. That makes it more obvious when they’re “older”. Thanks for the comment!
Wonderful overview. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences mid-cruise. If you're still onboard, try Sushi on 5. It offers more than just Sushi and offers one of my favorite desserts which is a Gingerbread themed dessert and one of my favorite drinks, Agave Sunrise (the Mango Spiced Martini is also delicious)
You’re welcome! We ate at Tuscan for lunch on the last day. It has a combined menu for all of the specialty restaurants on board, which included Sushi on 5. I had that gingerbread dessert and I agree it was amazing! That will be coming out in our food video. Thanks for watching!
If this is your first Celebrity cruise and you enjoyed it, try an Edge class ship. I love the smaller ships as well but my wife and I did the Apex last year and were blown away.
I will be on this ship next week. I can't wait! I was on the Reflections which is the built the same as the Equinox last January. The service and food on Celebrity is Impeccable.
I had a cruise on the Celebrity Beyond last month ( Aug 2024) it was super elegant and modern, infrastructure was on point, service 10/10, food… beyond great! Now, we are planning to go on the Equinox sailing from Barcelona… thanks for your impressions.
Looking forward too more content from this cruise. My travel agent has recommended Celebrity as we are a older couple like yourselves and she thought it would really suit us. I like what I am hearing from you guys so far,
Our first 2 Celebrity cruises were on Equinox, 2017 and 2018. That sold us on Celebrity with a few luxuries that we didn't get on Royal Caribbean (hair conditioner seems a little thing but on Rhapsody of the Seas back then I could NOT untangle my hair). Agree drawer space on Solstice class ships is limited. Having items in packing cubes really helps for storing in the cabinets above the bed. Drawer storage on Edge class ships is much better but the hanging closet space is limited (especially compared to Princess). The bathrooms on Edge ships are roomy and beautiful. Suggest if finances allow, to book a Sky Suite on an Edge class ship. Luminae restaurant is extraordinary and the Retreat experience is fantastic! If not, try Aquaclass for Blu restaurant which is quiet, intimate, with more personalized service than the MDR.
LIke you we have 25 cruises since we started this. Most on Carnival some on Disney and we are now done with Carnival. We will be on this ship next and hope for a new cruise home. Great video thanks!
Thanks for the video, it's exactly what I was looking for. This will be our 6th cruise but first with Celebrity. Past cruises with RCL, NCL, and once on Disney. First was RCL 28 years ago and I felt like royalty, but last 3 in past 6 years not so much! We are 52 and 61 but feel like we are 30... so we enjoy partying into the late night (about 11pm) lololol. I'm going to check out your other videos about this cruise. Our cruise is 4/6/25 equinox/orlando
We really enjoyed Celebrity and are cruising her again in August, going back to Alaska. Food and service were great. The only thing we miss is getting our RCL Diamond drink vouchers any time throughout the day. Celebrity relegates those to happy hour in the VIP Lounge. ☹️ #firstworldproblems
On Equinox January, 23. Our balcony cabin 8133 TV had pretty good swivel with visibility both bed and sofa. Has prime rib or beef wellington been restored to the MDR menu yet?
Good info to have about the TV swivel! Prime rib IS on the MDR menu. I don’t remember seeing beef Wellington. We have an entire food video coming out, which will show the menus for every night in the MDR. 👍🏼
We took Equinox to Southern Caribbean last April and were so very pleased. We took HAL Rotterdam in November to Aruba and hated it. Entertainment and food were both disappointing. We will stick with Celebrity for now. (you MUST try a new Celebrity ship, they are pretty nice as well!)
@@AllThingsWagner It's not the same Celebrity as the Solstice and previous classes. The Edge ships are a departure. I didn't really care for them, personally.
Thanks, don’t want to be the turd of the Punchbowl so thanks for the comment about no shorts in the MDR, first celebrity cruise for my wife. I was on one like 20 years ago. Great to hear that the casino is non-smoking, they should all be non-spoken that’s just ridiculous So this is a great video thank you so much for sharing. We’re going out of Barcelona September 5.
Thanks for watching!! FYI, we just debarked Celebrity Solstice on Sunday (1st Impressions video coming soon), and they did NOT consistently enforce the no shorts OR no ballcaps rule in the MDR. Just to let you know, like other cruise lines, they might ASK a person to comply, but they don't refuse their entry if they do not comply. 🤷♀️
Hello Wagners! Jon and i are both smokers but we too applaud Celebrity for having a non smoking casino! I love it! We had an aft cabin on millennium and we were not fans of the vibrations in the morning when pulling into port. I asked jon if he put a quarter in the bed! 😂 I love the included Cafe al bacio! We have the Beyond booked for my birthday this year. Looking forward to sailing on one of their newer ships. Millennium is an old girl too. 😉
☹️ On this cruise, our friends were moved due to noise and then near-harassment by neighbors. It happens, unfortunately. Hope you still had a nice cruise!
I will be on the Equinox starting February 15 with my good friend. This was a great overview. Thank you. You mentioned being cold in hallways. Were you cold in the solarium? Our cruise travels to Grand Cayman, Aruba and Curacao.
@@sueturaninalexander6520 the Solarium is climate controlled. I did not get chilly, but be sure you have a swim cover to put on after getting out in case you do. That’s a great itinerary too!!
We've cruised Celebrity from 4 different ports. Never had our "boarding time" looked at. Will see what happens in 3 weeks, boarding Celebrity Summit in San Juan and was unable to get an early boarding time. Trying an older (Millennium class) but remodeled ship. Love Edge class best but the Infinite Verandas are not everyone's preference. Didn't bother us, made the cabin seem larger.
This was very helpful! We will be on the Transatlantic crossing in April on the Equinox on a corner aft suite! Looking forward to your other videos!
We were right next door to a corner aft. The balcony looked amazing! Thanks for watching!

Welcome to the sailaway crew! Glad we could help.
Easy way to remember the side of the ship. The left side is the port side ( 4 letters in port and left )
or all the boaters" the sailor left port"
This was one of the best review videos I’ve seen. Thanks!
Thanks so much!!

Going on Solstice to Alaska in August, and I think that will be a similar ship experience. I think an Edge class is in our near future!
Agreed! 💯
We loved the Reflection and the Equinox. We only cruise on Celebrity.
I will be on this ship next week. I can't wait! I was on the Reflections which is the built the same as the Equinox last January. The service and food on Celebrity is Impeccable.
Excellent! Have a great cruise.

Easy way to remember port and starboard. PORT has four letters, LEFT has four letters. Good video, thinking about trying Celebrity.
We really like it! Heading back to Alaska on Celebrity in August.
Really great overview - I can imagine the detail in this took a while to pull together, so well done!
Hey Fraser, you crazy sailing guy!!! Hope you are well. We actually took notes throughout the week so we could share them with everyone. Thanks!

Celebrity def gets a 👍🏽 from hubby and I. Booked on the Beyond in April. Counting down the days.

We’ll definitely be booking another with them.

🤣 We didn’t feel the engines, but we would’ve loved it!! Beyond should be a great bday cruise!!
Bonnie wants to try Celebrity. Maybe the fall..
I’d say definitely!
I had a lot of issues with noise in my cabin on the ship. Not only once but twice. Otherwise it is a nice ship
☹️ On this cruise, our friends were moved due to noise and then near-harassment by neighbors. It happens, unfortunately. Hope you still had a nice cruise!
Port / starboard hint port has 4 letters, left has 4 letters. Cruising on eclipse October 2024
How you can remember that Port is the left side is they both have letters. Enjoy Celebrity! They are my favorite cruise line
Ah! Good tip. JJ says thank you! Our viewers are the smartest. 😉
Oh geez just noticed the 4 was missing. But you got it.

We got there 2 hours earlier than our time and way on the boat in 15 minutes. The guy from RC cruise told us it didn't matter.

Equinox needs Dry Dock other than that it was fine
Celebrity is a premier ship royal Caribbean is the sister ship
Absolutely! The two cleanings a day and mints on the pillow are nice. 👍🏼
Port (4 Letters) = Left (4 Letters)
Yes!!!👍🏼
Very boring Review.
Sorry to disappoint. 🤷♀️ Thanks for watching.
Very rude comment. They made this video to help others, most people appreciate it.
